Biden’s Mother-in-Law’s Death Pulls Him From Trail
Joe Biden will take a hiatus from the vice presidential campaign trail on Monday and Tuesday to be with his family following his wife’s mother’s death.
Bonny Jean Jacobs, Jill Biden’s mother, died Sunday after a long illness, the campaign announced. The funeral will be held Tuesday.
“We appreciate everyone’s respect for the family’s privacy during this difficult time,” Biden spokesman David Wade said in a statement.
The campaign had canceled Biden’s schedule on Saturday evening and Sunday after being advised by hospice care that they should remain close to home.
Sincere prayers with the family at this tough time.

On or about October 5, 2008, Joe Biden will announce his resignation from the race as Barack Obama’s vice presidential running mate. He will cite health reasons and quietly withdraw. Hillary Clinton is poised to take his place as the Democratic vice presidential candidate. Or so this latest rumor goes.
Maybe not a resignation, well, not yet anyway…
@TexasFred:
I thought of that….but y’know… if I was the Shrilldebeast, I’d tell him to bite my hinder, and make a run in 2012.
