An Ol' Broad's Ramblings
NOBAMA
John McCain wants you to consider whether Barack Obama’s association with unrepentant terrorist William Ayers makes him fit to be president. Actually, that’s not quite right: McCain and Republican Party leaders would prefer we didn’t waste time considering this question. They want you to simply reject Obama out of hand for his past ties. If that doesn’t work, they hope to raise doubts about Obama’s character in the past (why would he associate with someone like that?) and in the present (why hasn’t Obama been straight with us about Ayers now?).
If anyone has been paying attention, Bubba Hussein hasn’t be straight with anyone about anything!
At the moment, this strategy appears to be working only with Republicans. Obama’s poll numbers continue to improve. Voters want to hear about solutions to the current economic crisis, and this line of attack has nothing to do with that. The press is covering the Ayers association not as a question of character but as a symbol of McCain’s increasing desperation.
Well, if it’s only working with Republicans, that tells me that only Republicans, and conservatives, are using the brains God gave them. Obviously, those who are such die hards for Obama have serious issues. I can only think they actually DO hate this country, and DO want to see it destroyed.
But there’s another reason this strategy isn’t working: Voters are cynical. Obama doesn’t want them to be, implores them not to be at almost every campaign stop, yet in this episode he benefits from their cynicism. If Obama weathers the Ayers controversy, it will be in part because voters judge his association with Ayers, and his weak answers about that association, to be nothing more than a politician’s garden-variety duplicity.
Well, of course he doesn’t want voters to be cynical. With his message of “Hope”, “Change”, “Change We Can Believe In”, “We Are The Change We’ve Been Waiting For”, all of which says absolutely nothing, but sure sounds pretty, voters are being given a Tootsie Pop, with the chewy middle removed, and a poison pill in it’s place.
It’s more than just Obama’s association with Ayers that should have people concerned. It’s Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, ACORN, Rezko, and the list goes on and on. His lack of judgment isn’t just a one time thing. It’s apparent to me there’s a serious character flaw when you keep associating with the scum on the bottom of the pond.
For a real interesting look at Barack Hussein Obama, check out this web site:
The “opinion” part of the site has some interesting questions too. I won’t say the site is 100% accurate, but I do know that some definitely is right on the money.

Great Post!
I had not seen the Obama Files site till now.
I am surprise so many support this idiot. Goes to show you how many people in this country are undereducated.
@Big Mark:
I hadn’t seen it either. Found it in a comment over at Texas Fred’s place. Considering my mental state lately, I guess I forgot to add that little tidbit. sigh…
@ Big Mark: of course the widespread appeal of Governor Palin has nothing to do with under-education. I’m not an American and even I can tell you’re grasping at straws. Complete this sentence: a fifth-grader could answer questions on the economy better than … (it’s not Obama)
As to the Ol’ Broad, if you cannot see why Bush is the ‘scum of the pond’ rather than Wright, Farrakhan or Ayers, I fear that you and your ilk will bring the world close to destruction, or at best, make it a worse place for us all. I’ll help you get started: one uses violent rhetoric and is a leader of the lowest caste in American society, the other employs violent action and is the leader of America, the most powerful nation on Earth. To make it clearer still: one is mouthing off while the other is responsible for millions of deaths for the sake of oil.
This has nothing to do with patriotism, abortion, gun control, immigration, God, and all those other issues you presumably hold dear. Wright and Farrakhan were merely trying to restore some pride to their community, who are obviously in sore need of it, even to this day. Ayers was misguided but he did what he did through because he was heartsick over the millions of murders in Vietnam that were taking place. None of them are murderers, unlike Bush, who has the deaths of millions of Iraqis on his soul. Maybe he had good intentions, but it’s true nonetheless. So who has the unsavoury connections now?
By condemning Obama’s connections (Wright, Ayers) but not McCain’s (Bush) you are saying that the lives of millions of Iraqis or Vietnamese are worthless – to order the deaths of the first is excusable while to take action (albeit misguided) to halt the second is inexcusable. Even an verbal threat to white people is worse in your book than real life genocide in the Middle East or Asia.
Put aside your partisan goggles for a while and think about what you are saying. Again, this has nothing to do your right wing/left wing divide. I’m not saying Obama is perfect or even a better candidate than McCain. What I am saying is that if you really think Wright & Ayers are ‘pond scum’ and not Bush, your soul is tainted by black murderous prejudice, and if God is just (which He is) you won’t see Heaven for a long fucking while. I say this to you in all sincerity. Jesus was a great man and frankly, his memory is denigrated by followers like you.
@Ruba:
Bush, who has the deaths of millions of Iraqis on his soul
Where on earth do you get your information? Rosie O’Donnell? Criminy!
What I am saying is that if you really think Wright & Ayers are ‘pond scum’ and not Bush, your soul is tainted by black murderous prejudice
Ah….there it is. I knew it would show up eventually. Not just BDS, but the rallying cry of the left….I must be prejudiced because I think Barack Hussein Obama is totally wrong for the job.
and if God is just (which He is) you won’t see Heaven for a long fucking while.
Nice language. I’ve never understood why I’m suppose to take a person seriously if they can’t refrain from using that word.
Jesus was a great man and frankly, his memory is denigrated by followers like you.
Well, you see….Jesus just isn’t a ‘man’ or a ‘memory’ to me. He is alive. I guess that’s where we have a MAJOR difference, eh?
Ok help me out here. We’re elitists because we’re over educated and don’t get regular folks. Except when we’re uneducated and stupid because we’re voting for the guy you don’t like.
I’ve got an idea, maybe people just happen to disagree (yikes!) on a variety of issues. Oh wait, that doesn’t allow for the righteous rage you’re so desperate to feel. Peace out folks
.
@Nancy:
I’m not real sure what “elitists” has to do with whether or not I like your candidate. I don’t dislike him for any other reason that he’s a socialist. I have no problem with people disagreeing, IF the disagreement is based on rational reasons. I’m against socialism, baby murder, government intrusion, etc. You are quite welcome to disagree. I’m guessing it just means you’re pro socialism, pro baby murder, and pro government? Your choice.
Why, when they were questioning him about his experience in international affairs, didn’t he bring up his stint with Odinga in Kenya?
@ Ruba
leader of the lowest caste in American society
I am sure he would be suprised to hear that one…
millions of deaths
Where did you get these stats?
Wright and Farrakhan were merely trying to restore some pride to their community
“Their” community is in need of pride because of all the racist rhetoric coming from “their” comunity’s leaders, ie, Sharpton, Jackson, Farakhan et al. Some black men’s worst enemy is some black men.
Ayers was misguided
I’ll agree. Most extremist terrorists are.
Even an verbal threat to white people is worse in your book than real life genocide in the Middle East or Asia.
Not in my book. In fact, they’re the same thing;
You have heard that it was said to the men of old, You shall not kill, and whoever kills shall be liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court. But I say to you that everyone who continues to be angry with his brother or harbors malice against him shall be liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the court; and whoever speaks contemptuously and insultingly to his brother shall be liable to and unable to escape the punishment imposed by the Sanhedrin, and whoever says, You cursed fool! [You empty-headed idiot!] shall be liable to and unable to escape the hell (Gehenna) of fire.
Matthew 5:21-22
but I would look up the meaning of ‘genocide’ if you are going to use the word correctly.
and if God is just (which He is) you won’t see Heaven for a long fucking while. I say this to you in all sincerity. Jesus was a great man and frankly, his memory is denigrated by followers like you.
You can not possibly even know Him.
