Lamar Alexander ahead in polls and fundraising; Senate opponent in uphill challenge

Alexander’s chief of staff and campaign manager, Tom Ingram, said that while everyone is concerned about the financial crisis, there is no indication the economy will be a “game changer” in the Senate race.

Wanna bet? I actually contacted Tuke’s campaign, asking them to give me a reason to vote for him, instead of Alexander. Unbelievably, I got that same ol’ BDS nonsense. People, this financial fiasco is NOT all Bush’s fault! I’d really appreciate it if people running for office would actually investigate the documented evidence, instead of automatically parroting Pelosi! So, I won’t be voting for either one!

McCain, Obama seek to avoid fray on immigration

These days the presidential candidates barely mention the topic on the campaign trail.

The nation’s fundamental immigration problems have not been fixed. And with the economy contracting, Americans are likely to feel more discomfort about welcoming immigrants.

But Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama have been all but silent on immigration. That’s partly because their positions are not far apart, but it’s also because both candidates want to duck attacks from their critics.

Yeah, and no one I know is all that happy about it either. We haven’t forgotten that McCain is pro amnesty, and we are quite aware that Obama will make sure there will be illegal voting going on. Both candidates suck, especially in this area.

Democrats Discussing Second Stimulus Package on Monday

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her fellow Democrats are meeting in Pelosi’s office on Monday to discuss a “jobs creation and economic recovery stimulus plan.”

According to Pelosi, the Democratic economic forum “will help Congress develop an economic recovery plan that will create jobs by rebuilding our roads, bridges and highways, prevent cuts to vital government services such as health, education, and public safety, extend unemployment benefits, and help families cope with rising food costs.”

Are all those people in D.C. complete and utter morons???? So, they want to pass out MORE money that doesn’t belong to them, to put the American taxpayers further into debt, and “create” jobs that the taxpayers will be funding? The complete and utter ignorance of those people is just mind boggling! Do what y’all do best……NOTHING! Stop trying to tax real job creation out of existence!  Leave us the hell alone!!!

Snow snarls I-70 traffic in mountains near Vail

No serious injuries had been reported. By evening, the wintry weather had moved to the northeast and southeast of Denver, leaving clear skies over the Continental Divide and precarious fog at Floyd Hill in Jefferson County, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation.

“It’s the season, the first Sunday snow of the year,” state Trooper Gilbert Mares said. “There’s a lot more people on the roads, the roads are slick, and people aren’t used to winter yet.”

Good old fashioned common sense seems to lacking when it comes to snow. Here’s a thought….SLOW DOWN!

Economy converts voters to Obama

The financial crisis has turned the last three weeks into a critical and possibly decisive period in the contest — a time when many Americans have taken a new look at each candidate and then moved toward Democrat Barack Obama.

Like a wave, the crisis has washed over other factors in a contest that had seemed to be a dead heat, moving enough voters to give Obama a consistent lead in national polls and in key battleground states, including Florida, Virginia and Ohio, where President Bush secured his re-election four years ago.

I guess it IS true. Policitians is D.C. are right.  American voters ARE stupid! What other reason would they flock to the party that CAUSED the crisis?

Palin’s future son-in-law, Levi Johnston, speaks on wedding, fatherhood, Obama

No, he wasn’t held against his will on the campaign trail. No, he’s not being forced into a shotgun wedding with 17-year-old Bristol Palin.

“None of that’s true,” Johnston, 18, said in a rare interview with The Associated Press. “We both love each other. We both want to marry each other. And that’s what we are going to do.”

Standing in the driveway of his family home in this small Alaska town, Johnston spoke about the rumors swirling around him.

Isn’t it amazing that when a kid does the RIGHT thing, some asshat starts all kind of ugly rumors. If these kids wanted to leave the baby on the floor of a laundry room, ala Obama, it would be just fine. Talk about seriously skewed values. Jeeez!

Christian shot dead in Mosul

A Christian businessman has been shot dead by a group of unidentified armed men in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul, police sources say.

The latest in a series of attacks, the shooting came before a local official said that the flight of Christian families from the city had been stemmed by an increased police presence.

I’m wondering if this persecution isn’t government sanctioned. Not saying it is, but I’m wondering….

McCain Vows to ‘Whip’ Obama’s ‘You Know What’ in Final Debate

In an effort to energize supporters at his campaign headquarters in Arlington, Va., John McCain on Sunday may have also whipped up a little controversy with a remark that he’d “whip” Barack Obama’s “you know what” at the next debate.

One can only hope. Does this mean he’s going to take off the ‘nice guy’ hat, and bring up all the things the MSM should have been pointing out, and haven’t?

Israel Blamed for Death of Austrian Nazi Sympathizer

Anti-Semites had a field day Sunday, blaming Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency for the traffic accident in which Austria’s Nazi sympathizer leader Joerg Haider was killed on Saturday.

Austrian police said he was driving his car at breakneck speed when it veered off a road and overturned several times, causing fatal chest and head injuries. His Future of Austria party won 30 percent support in elections last month after a campaign in which he promoted his anti-immigration policies. His past speeches have included praise for the Third Reich and comments that Nazi concentration camps were actually “disciplinary camps.”

Seems to me that the scum buckets thought he was invincible. Guess he found out otherwise, eh? Blaming others for obvious stupidity seems to be a pattern with some. Pathetic.
