Obama Flack Accidentally Sends Out Pre-Debate Talking Points
“Reminder: These are for staff only and not for distribution,” warns the e-mail.
And then, the spin, accidentally sent to reporters this morning.
“* This is John McCain’s last chance to turn this race around and somehow convince the American people that his erratic response to this economic crisis doesn’t disqualify him from being president.
“* Just this weekend, John McCain vowed to ‘whip Obama’s you-know-what’ at the debate, and he’s indicated that he’ll be bringing up Bill Ayers to try to distract voters.
“* So we know that Senator McCain will come ready to attack Barack Obama and bring his dishonorable campaign tactics to the debate stage.
“Obama continues to lead on the economic crisis with a rescue plan for Main Street.
“Over the course of the campaign, Barack Obama has laid out a set of policies that will grow our middle class and strengthen our economy.
“But he knows we face an immediate economic emergency that requires urgent action -– on top of the plans he’s already laid out –- to help workers and families and communities struggling right now.
“That’s why Barack Obama is introducing a comprehensive four-part Rescue Plan for the Middle Class -– to immediately stabilize our financial system, provide relief to families and communities, and help struggling homeowners.
“This is a plan that can and should be implemented immediately.
“Obama has shown steady leadership during this crisis and offered concrete solutions to move the country forward -– and his Rescue Plan for the Middle Class builds on the plans to strengthen the economy and rebuild the middle class that he’s laid out over the course of this campaign.
“Already in this campaign, he’s unveiled plans to give 95 percent of workers and their families a tax cut, eliminate income taxes for seniors making under $50,000, bring down the cost of health care for families and businesses; and create millions of new jobs by investing in the renewable energy sources.
“John McCain has been erratic and unsteady since this crisis began -– staggering from position to position and trying to change the subject away from the economy by launching false character attacks.”

Stuck to my guns and did NOT vote for Lamar Alexander! Of course, I didn’t vote for Tuke either. So, when I got to the end, the contraption informed me I had left the U.S. Senate thingy blank. Asked me if I was sure. Damn skippy I’m sure! I didn’t much care for Alexander BEFORE the bailout vote anyway. Too RINO for my taste!
“Deaf Ears”
Official blames UN’s “deaf ears” for failed Ethiopia-Eritrea peace mission
The northern Tigray regional president blames the United Nation Security Council (UNSEC) for failing to carry out its responsibility to halt Eritrea’s repeated disruptions that crippled the Ethiopia-Eritrea UN peace keeping mission (UNMEE)
In an official closure of the 8-year long UN mission, Two UN planes on Sunday have picked up the last UNMEE Indian battalion from the regional capital’s Airport, a battalion which has been deployed along the Ethiopia-Eritrea border.
In a fare-well ceremony bid at Alula Aba Nega international airport, Tigray regional president Tsegay Berhe said “The federal government of Ethiopia has repeatedly addressed grave concerns from day one to the UN security council as the Eritrean government continued to undermine and threaten the peace process; however “deaf ears” were given by the UN security council to all the concerns Ethiopia has been addressing”
The official says the council’s “deaf ears” than swiftly acting against Eritrea’s unlawful acts were the reasons which helped Asmara to a further continued and official disruption over the mission.
“This could be taken as one of the bad lessons that the international community have learnt and it shows the UN Security Council didn’t keep the integrity of the Algiers agreement and the security and comfort of its UNMEE battalions,” he said.
Uh, excuse me, but who in their right mind would use the words “integrity” and “UN” in the same sentence?

Paulson’s Change in Rescue Tactics
Even as President Bush signed the $700 billion rescue plan for the financial system two Fridays ago, Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr. was beginning to realize that the way he had planned to spend the money might not fix the meltdown in global markets.
First off…..DUH! The constant tinkering has done more damage than if they had just left it alone. People don’t trust the government (which makes me wonder why they want them to take over everything…..idjits). Give us back our $700BIL!
Banking crisis: ‘Everyone is carrying on … the atmosphere’s bizarrely positive’
Driving in to the global headquarters of RBS and HBOS, which have been an integral thread of the Scottish capital’s fabric, their car radios sounded the death knell. The UK government was stepping in. The once-proud institutions with their enviable reputations had been forced into a humiliating bail-out by the taxpayer.
The taxpayers forced it? I don’t think so. I think the gubmints forced this crap!
Afghanistan: At least 88 Taliban militants killed in multiple clashes
At least 70 Taliban fighters were killed during an air strike in Helmand’s province Baram Cha district, near the Pakistani border, Helmand’s governor announced on Wednesday.
In another incident, at least 18 Taliban militants were killed overnight on Wednesday after fierce gunbattles in the city of Lashkar Gah, capital of Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, local police said.
Buh-bye! May you all fry in your Muslim hell!
Pakistan: Suicide attacks ‘un-Islamic’ say Muslim clerics
Pakistani Muslim scholars or ulema, have declared suicide attacks ‘haram’ or forbidden.
“It is a unanimous decree of the ulema that suicide attacks in Pakistan are haram and illegitimate,” said a joint declaration released to the media by exponents of Pakistan’s major schools of thought.
“But it seems as if the government is covertly backing these attacks so that patriotic citizens may not assemble and launch a mass drive for the defence of the country.”
Well, where have these Muslim scholars been for the past umpteen years? Perhaps is more of them had spoken out a long time ago, we might not be in a ‘global war on terror’! Not that I think them speaking out is going to do a bit of good now. Too many have been indoctrinated in the hatred, and martyrdom BS.
No. 2 leader of al-Qaida in Iraq reported killed
The U.S. military says the No. 2 leader of al-Qaida in Iraq has been killed during an operation in the northern city of Mosul.
The military has identified the insurgent leader as a Moroccan known as Abu Qaswarah or Abu Sara.
Today’s statement says he became the senior al-Qaida in Iraq emir of northern Iraq in June 2007 and had ties to senior al-Qaida leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
It also says “he was al-Qaida in Iraq’s second-in-command” behind Abu Ayyub al-Masri, who also is known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajir.
And what popped into my head?
Obama Camp Responds to Jesse Jackson’s Comments on ‘Zionists’
“Jackson believes that, although ‘Zionists who have controlled American policy for decades’ remain strong, they’ll lose a great deal of their clout when Barack Obama enters the White House.”
The Obama campaign’s response to these vague quotes — recorded by a columnist it considers hostile in a tabloid newspaper it considers biased against them — from an interview with a man last publicly seen threatening to castrate Sen. Obama, is as follows, from Obama campaign national security spokesperson Wendy Morigi:
“Rev. Jesse Jackson Sr. is not an adviser to the Obama campaign and is therefore in no position to interpret or share Barack Obama’s views on Israel and foreign policy. As he has made clear throughout his career and throughout this campaign, Barack Obama has a fundamental commitment to a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, and he is advised by people like Dennis Ross, Daniel Kurtzer, Rep. Robert Wexler, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Senator Joe Biden who share that commitment. As President, he will ensure that Israel can defend itself from every threat it faces, stand with Israel in its quest for a secure peace with its neighbors, and use all elements of American power to end Iran’s illicit nuclear program. No false charges can change Barack Obama’s unshakeable commitment to Israel’s security.”
Horse hockey! If BO was all that pro Israel, why are all the terrorist countries hoping he’ll win?

Verse of the Day
1 John 2:24-29
24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.
25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.
26 These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.
27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.
