Taliban attack Afghan buses, kill 25 passengers
The latest attack, on Thursday, happened while two buses carrying passengers, including women and children, drove through Maywand district in Kandahar, the spiritual home of the Taliban and where the hardline Islamists still draw a lot of support.
The Taliban tried to stop one of the buses but it carried on driving, said Kandahar police chief Matiullah Qateh. The insurgents then fired on the bus killing one child.
The militants managed to stop the second bus carrying about 50 passengers, said Qateh. They killed 24 of the travelers and freed the rest, he said.
Why is that area a ‘spiritual home’ to murderous thugs? Is that where Satan spoke to them?
‘Joe the Plumber’ strikes back at media
Wurzelbacher became famous after he met Obama and said the Democrat’s tax proposal could keep him from buying the two-man plumbing company where he works. However, reports of Wurzelbacher’s annual earnings suggest he would receive a tax cut rather than an increase under Obama’s plan.
Actually, if he succeeded in buying the business, that would put him in a higher tax bracket. Naturally, the MSM won’t point that out.
“You know, I am a plumber,” Wurzelbacher said. “Just a plumber.”
Wurzelbacher said he agreed to appear on the show after he received phone calls from friends serving in the military who voiced their support.
“You know, when you can’t ask a question of your leaders anymore, that gets scary,” he said.
Yeah, when the people we are suppose to elect into office, any office, have stopped answering to their bosses, it’s time to rethink who we vote for! If the media was doing it’s job, we wouldn’t have Bubba Hussein on the ticket. It’s a shame they spend so much time going after the little guy, instead of investigating what is right in front of their collective noses.

Knoxville’s Joe the Plumber doubts Obama, too
Joe the Plumber, of Knoxville, that is, says he’s less concerned about whether he gets a tax break if his customers still can’t afford to hire him.
Still, Joe Shanks, a licensed master plumber and owner of Joe’s Plumbing Service in the Cedar Bluff area, has followed the presidential campaigns the same as his much-quoted counterpart in Toledo, Ohio, who questioned Democratic Sen. Barack Obama over his proposed tax hike for those who make more than $250,000 a year.
Perhaps Bubba H. should have actually tried running a business before he came up with all his ridiculous ideas. But I guess being a lawyer for a corrupt group such as ACORN makes him think he knows all about the little guy.
Teachers ask for discipline backup
“We include language in our contract that calls for in-service training to better prepare professional employees and students,” Hurd said. “I don’t believe that’s included in the board’s policy. We also state in our proposal that principals and other administrators shall not tolerate the physical or verbal abuse of teachers.”
Hurd said teachers have included wording in their contract proposal that allows them to exclude a student from class when the continued presence of the student becomes intolerable.
Some administrators provide outstanding support for teachers in assault and discipline cases, Hurd said, but teachers want the discipline policy followed consistently.
Teachers cite discipline as a major issue because it affects the performance of teachers and students.
I’m thinking they need classes for the parents of the kids who keep acting like asses. Obviously, discipline isn’t one of the requirements of parenting these days. When schools went PC, discipline went out the window. Must hurt their little psyches. Pfft! A little hind end action might make a world of difference. Not for the occasional kid, but for those who are constantly disrupting the classroom. If that doesn’t work, bring in the parent and give them a swat or two!
Seriously, the problem has escalated from the 60s, when God was removed from the classroom. The liberals have destroyed the schools, and must be removed. There are some really good teachers out there, they just aren’t given the chance to teach.
McCain decries Obama’s ‘socialism’
Mr. McCain repeatedly cashed in on the October surprise of Joe the Plumber on the campaign trail Saturday, and also used his radio address to make the taboo “socialism” charge against Mr. Obama based on his candid admission to the Ohio blue-collar worker that he wants to “spread the wealth around.”
“Joe, in his plainspoken way, said this sounded a lot like socialism. And a lot of Americans are thinking along those same lines. In the best case, ‘spreading the wealth around’ is a familiar idea from the American left. And that kind of class warfare sure doesn’t sound like a ‘new kind of politics,’ ” Mr. McCain said in the weekly address.
“At least in Europe, the socialist leaders who so admire my opponent are upfront about their objectives,” he said. “We should demand equal candor from Senator Obama. Raising taxes on some in order to give checks to others is not a tax cut; it’s just another government giveaway.”
And Obama, in his feckless way, spouted the nonsense about tax cuts to the rich…aka business owners. Mr Obama…who the hell do you think creates the jobs??? You want to create jobs, at the taxpayers expense. Those aren’t real jobs! It’s a make busy plan, that puts the nation further into debt. Socialism does NOT spread the wealth! It’s stifles creativity! Why should I produce when you’re going to just take it away and give it to some scum sucker who sits on his ass and contributes NOTHING?
Colin Powell endorses Barack Obama for president
Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has endorsed Democrat Barack Obama for president, describing the Illinois senator as a “transformational figure.”
Powell says both Obama and Republican John McCain are qualified to be commander in chief. But, in an interview Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” he said Obama is better suited to handle the nation’s economic problems as well as help improve it’s standing in the world.
I just lost ALL respect for Powell! And to think, at one time, I would have supported HIM for president.
France: Jewish organisation warns Vatican over possible beatification
The first Jewish rabbi to address the Vatican Synod – a gathering of Roman Catholic Bishops from around the world that started last week caused possible embarrassment to his hosts when in his speech he appeared to criticise Pius.
“We remember those religious leaders who did not raise their voice to save our brethren. We cannot forgive and forget,” said Rabbi Shear-Yashuv Cohen of Haifa, Israel.
Honestly, I have NO idea what ‘beatification’ means. I’m guessing it’s some kind of big honor. The thought of honoring a man who stood by, said nothing and did little, just baffles me.
Prosecutors Subpoena Ex-Lehman Execs in Stock Sale Probe
The speed at which Lehman failed prompted complaints by some that the company wasn’t honest about its financial condition in the months leading up to its collapse.
Federal prosecutors are reportedly looking into whether anyone at Lehman may have misled investors about its health or the value of its assets.
Gee, ya think? I’d like to know why they weren’t handed handcuffs instead of subpoenas!
Akko Inciter Escapes to Safety in PA Territories
Akko Mayor Shimon Lankry announced Sunday that “the man who announced at the city’s mosques that there are injuries in the eastern neighborhoods… has fled to the territories.”
Lankry added that the man who drove young masked Arabs in a minibus into the Jewish neighborhood had also fled police.
The men he brought with him brandished axes, knives and truncheons as they piled out of the bus, yelling “Itbah al Yahud” (Slaughter the Jews) and “Allah Hu Akbar” (G-d is Great – the traditional Arabic war cry).
The Arabs have NO problem sheltering terrorists/criminals, as long as the crime they commit is against the Jews. Does no one else see a problem with this????? I guess the “international community” can’t be bothered with such pesky things….too busy trying to destroy the Great Satan, rather than be concerned with the Little Satan, eh? /sarcasm

I’m with ya Kate. I heard Powell’s announcement in the airport this AM. I’m sorry to say that he leaves me no conclusion other than he now joins the 90% of African Americans that will vote for BO. How you can claim to be a Republican and find any of BO’s policies acceptable is just beyond any logical explanation.
Wierd times at Ridgemont High!
@Shoebox:
One of the best things I’ve read in a long time, My Black Dilemma by Ali Akbar, puts a totally different light on a lot of things for me. I’d highly recommend that Colin Powell read it, and every other voter, black or white!
