Some Thoughts

20 October 2008, 9:26 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Opinion.

Lately, I’ve been having a tough time finding anything to make a coherent comment on.  I read the opinion stuff, the headlines, and the stories associated, and I find myself wanting to throw things.  I see our nation spiraling down into the cesspool.

They keep telling me about the polls where Barack Hussein Obama is so far in the lead, and I can’t help but wonder……… what happened to common sense?  Who is really pulling the strings on this whole campaign? We ended up with two candidates that no one really wanted.  The far left MSM have done their best to make those who believe in life, small government, the U.S. Constitution and the freedom it insures, as EEEEEVIIIIIIL!  And people are gobbling it up like a free buffet.  Why?

Just saw on Hannity & Colmes that Joe the Plumber has higher approval ratings than any candidate, or office holder.  Heh.  Obviously, the numbers were really high among Republicans.  Fairly low from the Dems.  What does that tell me?  Well, the Dhimmicrats don’t like the common man.  They don’t like folks who want to live the American dream….work hard, succeed, etc.

What has happened to this country??  Why do I have this odd image in my head of South Africa?  Aparteid, but the opposite of what it was there.  Maybe I should stick my head in the sand like so many others have done?  I dunno.  I’ve always had a real tough time marching to the beat of someone else’s drum.  I kind of doubt I’m gonna start now.

Oh, and while I’m rambling here, saying much of nothing, is anyone else offended by that Brook Shields Volkswagon commercial?  You know, the one whining about women getting pregnant just to buy one of those minivans?  Jeeeez.  Most commercials irritate me, but that one is really grating my nerves.

Sports Figures Endorse Candidates and Shoes

20 October 2008, 11:06 am. 7 Comments. Filed under 2008, Dhimmicrats, Feckless Weasels, Sports.

Not being a huge sports fan, I don’t much pay attention to who is endorsing whom, but I did find this pretty interesting.

Any Given Sunday, or Monday Night, Saturday Afternoon

Since the Kos wants to talk about Team Owners who have endorsed Obama, why not take a look at those who support McCain. In fact, why not look at all of the Sports figures that think a McCain win is a good idea:

Mario Andretti, Former Race Car Driver
Bill Davidson, owner of the Detroit Pistons[85]
John Elway, Hall of Fame Denver Broncos quarterback
Joe Gibbs, former Washington Redskins head coach
Roger Goodell, NFL Commissioner
Ken Kennedy, WWE Wrestler
Don King, boxing promoter
Robert Kraft, New England Patriots Owner
Chuck Liddell, MMA Fighter
Arnold Palmer, Former PGA player
Richard Petty, 7 Time NASCAR Champion
Brady Quinn, Cleveland Browns Backup Quarterback
Rhino TNA Wrestler
Nolan Ryan, Hall of Fame pitcher
Curt Schilling, Boston Red Sox pitcher[86]
Jason Sehorn, retired New York Giants cornerback[87]
Roger Staubach, Hall of Fame Dallas Cowboys quarterback[88]
Joe Thomas, Left Tackle for the Cleveland Browns
Troy Aikman, Fmr. Dallas Cowboys Quarterback

Bob Craft has to be the most respected NFL coach in the league, and is the most popular sports franchise owner ever in New England. So let them have Dan Rooney.

First off, I had no idea that the Daily Kids were so excited about sports figures.  Second, I don’t care.  It wouldn’t change my mind no matter who endorses Bubba Hussein.  On the other hand, I don’t care what sports figure endorse McCain.  I don’t base my vote on who is endorsing what candidate.  Nor do I base it on color.  I base it on facts and issues.

Sadly, the MSM has already been seen as ‘in the tank’ for the Obamanation.  If they were still REAL journalists, the obvious flaws, lies and associations would be front page news…the lead story on the nightly news.  But, we all know that 90% of the media is Dhimmicrat.  I wonder how they’re going to feel when a VERY large chunk of change that they earn will be stolen to support some lazy SOB who won’t bother to get an education, or work to feed his face?

The Joke’s On SNL

Palin Draws Big Ratings, But No Big Laughs, for ‘SNL’

In the show’s opening, Fey’s Palin said at a news conference: “First off, I just want to say how excited I am to be in front of both the liberal elite media, as well as the liberal regular media. I am looking forward to a portion of your questions.”

Well, she got that part accurate.

Moments later, the camera cut away to the real Palin watching a television monitor alongside the show’s executive producer, Lorne Michaels.

Palin stood quietly as Fey’s “30 Rock” co-star Alec Baldwin came by, mistook Palin for Fey and pleaded with Michaels not to let the actor go onstage with the governor.

“This is the most important election in our nation’s history and you want her, our Tina, to go out there and stand with that horrible woman?” Baldwin said.

I honestly was offended by the way SNL handled the whole thing. Pitting Palin against a slew of left wing nutjobs was not entertainment.  Host Josh Brolin, ‘star’ of “W”, son of James Brolin, married to moonbat extrordinaire, Babs Streisand.  Oliver Stone, conspiracy theorist director, whose talent has diminished with his sanity.  Alec Baldwin, whose star has been fading for YEARS, failed talk show host, only less boring than watching paint dry.

When Michaels introduced him to Palin, Baldwin feigned embarrassment and replied: “I see. Forgive me. I feel I must say this: You are way hotter in person.”

Yes, Sarah Palin is one of the more attractive female politicians. Beyond her looks, she’s got class, which many don’t seem to have these days. The NOW nazis should be up in arms over Balwin’s ‘sexist’ non joke.

Palin got even, saying: “Thank you, and I must say, your brother Stephen is my favorite Baldwin brother.” Stephen Baldwin is a born-again Christian who attended the Republican national convention in 2004.

Yep, that Baldwin is my favorite one too. I stopped being a fan of Alec a LONG time ago….about the time he opened his mouth and starting spewing policy. He’s a good actor. He should have stuck to it.

Michaels owes Palin a debt of gratitude. “Saturday Night Live” so far this season has been up 76 percent over last year at this time, Nielsen said.

Even beyond that, the Fey skits have gone viral over the Internet, drawing more attention to the show. One study last week said only one-third of people who had seen Fey’s impersonations did so on live TV; the rest saw them on DVRs or on their computers.

Saturday Night Live use to actually be funny….stupid, but funny. Now, it’s just plain stupid. Odds are, I won’t be staying up late on Saturday night again for quite a while.

Morning Coffee 10/20/08

Fort Dix plot case to start Monday in New Jersey

The arrests seemed like a startling wake-up call to America: Federal authorities said a group of would-be terrorists were foiled in a plot to sneak onto a New Jersey military base and kill soldiers. The federal government argues that the May 2007 capture of Serdar Tatar, Mohamad Ibrahim Shnewer and the brothers Dritan, Eljvir and Shain Duka saved innocent lives. Defense lawyers contend there was no plot and that the government paid people to get them to discuss one. Opening arguments were due to be made Monday.

Anyone who believes the threat is over, is sadly mistaken, and will get people killed. It’s one thing to freely practice your religion, it’s a whole other matter when you use that hatred promoting religion to murder innocent people.  It’s past time we close the borders, and screen those coming in legally.  Perhaps putting an end to Muslim immigration would be a safer idea?

Farmer’s cornfield maze goes political

When viewed from above, the maze takes the shape of presidential hopefuls Barack Obama and John McCain in a 2008 election scene. The pathways were cut to form three mazes. One is 0.2 miles long, the other two are 2.6 miles.

“It gives kids a rural, agricultural atmosphere, which is pretty rare in this part of the country,” he said. “Kids these days, they think everything comes from a store.”

You mean, it doesn’t? Hmmm…  8-O  Heh.  I think it’s rather a cool idea, but if you can’t see it, what difference does it make what the rows look like from the air?  Just curious.

Palin: “No Time to Experiment With Socialism”

Sarah Palin went after Barack Obama at a rally in an airport hanger here saying his tax plan is socialist—she made sure to couch the attack behind the very famous plumber, Joe Wurzelbacher and today she introduced another everyman, Ed the Dairy Man. Palin used some of her harshest language and said these men agree that Barack Obama’s plan “sounds more like socialism.”

“Senator Obama said he wants to quote spread the wealth. What that means is he wants government to take your money and dole it out however a politician sees fit. Barack Obama calls it spreading the wealth.” Palin said, “But Joe the Plumber and Ed the Dairy Man, I believe that they think that it sounds more like socialism. Friends, now is no time to experiment with socialism. To me our opponent’s plan sounds more like big government, which is the problem. Bigger government is not the solution. Whatever you call his tax plan and that redistribution of wealth it will destroy jobs. It will hurt our economy.”

It doesn’t just ‘sound’ like socialism….it IS socialism. The only people you’ve got in favor of such an idea are those who never get up off their ass to accomplish anything, and are green with envy of those who do. The top 5% of the extremely wealthy already pay the majority of the taxes in this country. They are also the ones who create the jobs for the not so wealthy. Let’s get this straight people…..THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT CREATE JOBS OR WEALTH! It actually hinders both!

Fashion critic Mr. Blackwell dies in Los Angeles

Blackwell died Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center of complications from an intestinal infection, publicist Harlan Boll said.

Blackwell, whose first name was Richard, was a little-known dress designer when he issued his first tongue-in-cheek criticism of Hollywood fashion disasters for 1960 — long before Joan Rivers and others turned such ridicule into a daily affair.

Unfortunately, his criticisms didn’t stop the Hollyweird’s from dressing like high priced hookers. Rest in peace.

Abbas: I was promised almost all of West Bank

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas told reporters in Ramallah that Prime Minister Ehud Olmert had promised him “almost all of the West Bank” and “nearly all of the neighborhoods of east Jerusalem,” Arab media reported Monday.

How can one man give away land that doesn’t belong to him? It was GIVEN to the ‘children of Israel’ by a MUCH higher power than he’ll ever be.  Jerusalem must NOT be carved up for ANY reason.

On Sunday, Abbas criticized the Israelis for failing to protect Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest season against the settlers’ violence.

He complained about the situation to Israel and the international community, saying that “if Israel fails to take control of the situation, it means it’s not serious about attaining peace.”

Pot, meet kettle! Coming from people who have signed peace treaties, and then let innocent slaughter take place within a matter of hours, he has NO right to complain.

LAF commander inks deal for more US weaponry

“Building on previous discussions between Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, President Michel Sleiman, and Defense Minister Elias Murr, Edelman and the Lebanese officials followed up on the recent joint military commission discussions designed to strengthen the US-Lebanon bilateral defense relationship,” the statement said.

“Since 2006, the United States has committed more than $410 million in security assistance to the LAF, and the United States will continue to provide equipment and training to the LAF,” it added.

Hello????? Are crazy?????? Syria, Hizzbollah and Iran have a pretty good foothold in Lebanon. Selling arms to them, you might as well just pass out weapons to every enemy of the United States! This is about as nutty as arming the Taliban back in the 80s, and then walking away.  MORONS!  Ya don’t arm a Muslim nation, by choice.  This IS a war of religion!  JEEEEZ!

Oil’s plunge not likely to lower grocery bills

“Consumer prices don’t change near as fast, because they are set by companies,” Lafakis said. “Commodity prices are set every day on an open market.”

The opposite also is true: Companies hesitate to increase prices because it might push consumers into the arms of a competitor, or to cheaper alternatives. Meat companies like Tyson Foods, for example, have swallowed losses this year as ingredient costs rose because executives were fearful consumers would abandon their products if prices jumped too fast. Tyson’s profit plunged 92 percent in the third quarter, and the company said it didn’t expect a rebound soon.

But once a price increase is in place, it doesn’t go away, Lafakis said. The one factor than can drive prices down is a drastic drop in demand, but few economists expect the global economic downturn to be so severe it would cause widespread deflation, he said. More likely is that inflation will slow or possibly flatten.

Ok, all together now……”EVIIIIIIL food companies!” sigh… Nope, once they raise the prices, it’s REAL hard to convince ‘em to lower the prices. Now, I have NO problem with companies making a profit, but if they even lowered the price of, say mild, by 20 cents, it could make a difference. I nearly choked when I saw a gallon of name brand milk for nearly $6. The store brand was half that price. Same milk, different packaging. So, someone please explain to me WHY they feel their milk, or any other product is worth so much? Needless to say, the name brand wasn’t selling.

DEMS GET SET TO MUZZLE THE RIGHT

SHOULD Barack Obama win the presidency and Democrats take full control of Congress, next year will see a real legislative attempt to bring back the Fairness Doctrine – and to diminish conservatives’ influence on broadcast radio, the one medium they dominate.

Yes, the Obama campaign said some months back that the candidate doesn’t seek to re-impose this regulation, which, until Ronald Reagan’s FCC phased it out in the 1980s, required TV and radio broadcasters to give balanced airtime to opposing viewpoints or face steep fines or even loss of license. But most Democrats – including party elders Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and Al Gore – strongly support the idea of mandating “fairness.”

It’s quite clear that the Dhimmicrats don’t give a flying flip about the U.S. Constitution. No where in the First Amendment does it say ANYTHING about giving equal time. Scrap all these stupid laws that do nothing but hender the American people, return to that document, which is pretty dadburn clear in my book, and stop tinkering! The Founding Fathers weren’t perfect, they were human, but they were a damn site smarter than anyone who’s held office since!  Everytime Bubba Hussein has opened his mouth, lies fall out.  There’s no reason to believe he’s not lying when he says he opposes this large pile of male bovine excrement!

Obama Assembles U.S.’s `Largest Law Firm’ to Monitor Election

Already, the U.S. Supreme Court has handed Ohio Democrats a victory, dissolving a court order obtained by Republicans to force state officials to release the list of 200,000 new voters whose names or addresses don’t match government databases.

Democrats accused Republicans of trying to improperly disqualify voters.

One of the more absurd action of the SCOTUS lately. They might as well have declared for Bubba right now. Since the Ohio Secretary of State won’t do her job, someone should step in and either force the issue, or fire the weasel.  I don’t know about you, but I do think Mickey Mouse SHOULD be disqualified as a voter, along with all his rodents friends!

Verse of the Day

20 October 2008, 7:54 am. Comments Off. Filed under Faith.

1 John 3:1-7

1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
