Red Hoax Blue Hoax

As the case of Ashley Todd reminded us again last week, racial bias crimes are almost always hoaxes. Todd is the Republican volunteer who claimed that a black man in Pittsburgh had pummeled her and carved a “B” into her cheek after spotting the “McCain-Palin” bumper stickers on her car.

A lot of people suspected the case was a hoax from the outset, including Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, who immediately said: “It could be bogus. I’m a little skeptical about this, but our duty … is to report everything to you.”

The claim was bogus, but on MSNBC, instead of citing the Todd case as further proof of the maxim “Never believe claims of racial bias until proved,” the hoax hate crime led to somber discussions of — you guessed it! — racism in America.

Trip Postponed

We got to the airport, got checked in, got checked out and came home.  Long story!  Needless to say, I’m in a seriously pissy mood, and the Mr ain’t too happy either.

I will admit….this is MY fault, and I take full blame.  Now, I need to cancel some hotel reservations.  I’m also considering banging my head against the brick wall.

We WILL be taking this trip!  I will NOT let my own stupidity get in the way!

Y’all behave yourselves, and like I said last night, I will be posting on our adventures, and silent E will be checking in.  Maybe even the Ick in law.

Although, for the life of me, I can understand how anyone could be ‘undecided’ at this stage of the game.  For that matter, I don’t understand how anyone has decided for Barack Hussein Obama, given all the pertinent information you have at your fingertips.  :?

So, for those ‘undecideds’, PLEASE go read about the BO speech writer that finally realized she had made the WRONG choice!

Go!  Now!  I’ll wait!

You back?  Well?  This young lady realized what we on the right have been trying to tell you folks all along!  I pray that more people will come to their senses, and SOON!  Just because the MSM has declared Obama “THE ONE”, DOES not mean he’s won the race.  So, if you on one of those that has the attitude “why bother, he’s already won”, don’t you believe it!  Every vote counts!  If you don’t want to see the destruction of your home, then VOTE.  If you can’t bring yourself to vote FOR McCain, then vote for Palin!

We’ve got the greatest nation in the world here, and even though we’ve made some missteps, it does NOT mean we have to continue the trend. Please, for the love of all that’s Holy, I do NOT want to come back to a country completely spiraling down into the abyss!

China: More eggs found containing melamine

Contaminated eggs were found in a batch produced by Jingshan Pengchang Agriculture Product Company, located in Hubei province, about 430 miles (695 km) east of Shanghai, the center said in a statement Tuesday

Although much lower in melamine content than contaminated eggs produced by Hanwei Eggs that were discovered last week in Hong Kong, the Jingshan eggs were still above the legal limit. Tainted eggs from Hanwei had nearly double the maximum permissible level.

Health officials in Zhejiang City also found melamine in Ciyunxiang-brand eggs produced by Changzhi City Green Biological Development Center, from Shanxi Province.

I’m going to take a wild stab and say since the eggs are basically poisoned, so are the chickens. I sure hope we don’t import any those from China too.  I know American chickens still lay eggs!

Ex-mayor Kilpatrick jailed

Kwame Kilpatrick was sent off to jail for four months on Tuesday for his part in a sex scandal and was given a tongue-lashing by the judge, who chastised the disgraced ex-mayor for his arrogance and disregard for the rule of law.

Former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will spend 23 hours a day in this jail cell for four months in Detroit. He will not be allowed to mix with other inmates during his hour of recreation. (Associated Press)

The sentencing before Wayne County Circuit Judge David Groner served as the finale to the scandal that destroyed Kilpatrick’s reign at City Hall and threw local government into disarray for months.

“At a time when this city needed transparency, accountability and responsibility, you exhibited hubris and privilege at the expense of the city,” said Judge Groner, who ordered the sentence during a lengthy afternoon hearing.

He ruled that Kilpatrick not be given an opportunity for early release.

He should more than four months just for the fact he’s an arrogant SOB. Sadly, our judicial system doesn’t allow for that. :? Pay attention here people….character DOES matter!

Social Security info is at risk

Most local government agencies lack written policies for protecting Social Security numbers from inadvertent release, and state law doesn’t clearly direct local governments on how to treat Social Security numbers in agency records, according to a state report released Tuesday.

The report from State Comptroller John Morgan made a series of recommendations to the General Assembly for safeguarding Social Security numbers, including requiring written policies in local government and prohibiting local officials from publicly disclosing them.

Say whut? You have got to be kidding! Common sense isn’t real big in the gubmint, at ANY level, is it. :?

Smoking ban hits cigarette vendors

“The smoking ban is cute and everything, but people’s livelihoods are at stake,” he said. “Lawmakers do things in earnest and for our well-being, but sometimes they just do it as a knee-jerk reaction. They said ‘tough luck’ to the little guy.”

Since the ban, cigarette vendors say they’ve been asked them to remove their machines by businesses that no longer allow smoking.

“People who smoke aren’t going in (those places), so no one is buying cigarettes,” said Linda Randol, an employee at Acme Vending in Sharpsburg. “They say it doesn’t make sense for them to have the machine.”

Cute? I would have used a different word….like ignorant. All these bans on personal freedoms are based on flawed science, much like the gorebal warming BS. If so few people are smoking these days, why has the cancer rate risen? Got NOTHING to do with SHS, it’s all about the few wanting control of all.

Single men only in Bali bomber firing squad

THE men chosen to form the firing squad for the Bali bombers will be single with no children, and will have passed psychological and health checks.

They will also be good shots with a rifle – most probably an SS1 and using 5.5mm bullets.

They will have practised on police firing ranges shooting at targets. And they will not generally say no when assigned to form a firing squad.

May their aim be true!  Although, from an emotional aspect, I wouldn’t mind the animals suffering a little before the croak!  Not very Christian like of me, I know, but sometimes, this type of garbage needs to know the suffering they caused others.

Hamas Uses ‘Humanitarian Cement’ to Prepare for War

The de facto Hamas government in Gaza is exploiting Israel’s allowing shipments of cement to build underground tunnels, ammunition bunkers and command centers. Deputy Defense Minister Matan Vilnai is thinking about reducing the amounts of cement, which began to flow through Gaza crossings in July.

So, instead of using the cement to build, or repair homes for the people, they use it for the purpose of future murder. I don’t want to hear JACK about how these people are so mistreated. The only ones that seem to be mistreating them are their own people.  How much ‘humanitarian aid’ has been wasted on the quest to slaughter innocents???  The Pallies should really take a good hard look at who the REAL culprits are.

Verse of the Day

Deuteronomy 32:1-6

1 Give ear, O ye heavens, and I will speak; and hear, O earth, the words of my mouth.

2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew, as the small rain upon the tender herb, and as the showers upon the grass:

3 Because I will publish the name of the LORD: ascribe ye greatness unto our God.

4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.

5 They have corrupted themselves, their spot is not the spot of his children: they are a perverse and crooked generation.

6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not he thy father that hath bought thee? hath he not made thee, and established thee?

Well, sometimes it is.  We’re all checked in, and got our boarding passes printed out.  I’ve never done an online check-in.  That is so cool!  :D

I’m pretty much packed, with the exception of my night time essentials, and a few morning essentials.  The Mr, on the other hand, has not even gotten his suitcase out of the closet.  :?

We’re going to be heading out to Memphis around noon.  Since it takes about 3 hours, and I have NO idea where I’m going  to drop the car off, I figure it would be a good idea to have an extra hour or two.  Who knows, I might have no problem.  Wouldn’t that be a hoot.

The first leg of our trip leaves at 6:35pm, going to Atlanta.  The next leg takes off around 10:30pm.

Now, the reason I bring this up, I’ll probably not be posting for the next 48 hours or so.  However, silent E, of silent E speaks fame, may be popping in to inform and amuse.

Since this in a serious vacation, with the exception of updates of our adventures, odds are I won’t be doing any of my regular postings, like Morning Coffee, or the regular ‘toon features and such.  Now, this doesn’t mean I won’t post things of particular interest….to me at least….but not a whole lot.

Tomorrow is going to be a really busy morning around here.  Depending on what time I wake up, and how much coffee I need to get both eyes open…….well, I’m sure I’ll post something, but not much.
