‘Twas the night before elections
And all through the town
Tempers were flaring
Emotions all up and down!

I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
Had cut off the TV
Tired of political crap.

When all of a sudden
There arose such a noise
I peered out of my window
Saw Obama and his boys

They had come for my wallet
They wanted my pay
To give to the others
Who had not worked a day!

He snatched up my money
And quick as a wink
Jumped back on his bandwagon
As I gagged from the stink

He then rallied his henchmen
Who were pulling his cart
I could tell they were out
To tear my country apart!

‘ On Fannie, on Freddie,
On Biden and Ayers!
On Acorn, On Pelosi’
He screamed at the pairs!

They took off for his cause
And as he flew out of sight
I heard him laugh at the nation
Who wouldn’t stand up and fight!

So I leave you to think
On this one final note-
IF YOU DONT WANT SOCIALISM
GET OUT AND VOTE!!!!

    Kate,

    Just so as you know, I will be available tomorrow night for any online counseling you and your conservative kith may be needing when you come to grips with a President Obama.

  2. olbroad. 3 November 2008, 10:59 pm

    @capper:

    Yer such a funny fellow! :) Oh, and just you know… I will be on a plane, winging my way to a much needed vacation/birthday present! Heh. But I’ll spread the word you’ll be depressed, and will need some cheering up.

    Couldn’t resist, don’cha know. :)

  3. capper. 3 November 2008, 11:01 pm

    Ach, woman, the only thing I’ll be sad about is that we will have to wait another 75 or so days before the nation can start to heal.

    But in all seriousness, have a wonderful 29th birthday, ya ol’ broad!

  4. olbroad. 3 November 2008, 11:44 pm

    @capper:

    HEY! Who told you how old I am???? :P

    On a little more serious note, I gotta tell ya….I don’t see any “healing” with an Obama presidency. It might be on your side, but not on mine. :? See, we take the Constitution a lot more seriously than y’all think we do. When ya have someone who wants to ban private ownership of handguns, yet wants a “citizen army’, I’m extremely worried about our future.

    BUT, on the other hand, perhaps four years will be enough to snap a few folks out of their stupor? Just a thought. :)

  5. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:00 am

    I won’t touch the Constitution comment given the last eight years of having it shat upon by Republicans, and Johnny McGrumpy promising more of the same.

    But how can anyone in their right mind believe that guns will be banned. Even if Obama was as vehemently opposed to guns as the NRA would try to trick people into believing, he still couldn’t do it. First, the Congress wouldn’t commit political suicide in order to get it done. Second, pols from both sides get enough money from the NRA, the gun makers, etc, that they wouldn’t commit financial suicide. Thirdly, the Supreme Court wouldn’t allow it.

    For pity’s sake, don’t tell me you seriously have this irrational fear!

  6. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:02 am

    And for who told me your age…well, let’s just say it was a little birdie. :)

  7. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:04 am

    Dang, your crazy site doesn’t let me do it.

  8. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:04 am

    Three times is the charm?

  9. cristina. 4 November 2008, 12:25 am

    Well, taxes were lower than Obama is promising, no more terrorists attacks, pro-life president….I’ll take more of the same any time!!!

  10. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:30 am

    Actually, according to the Goverment Accounting Office, Bush’s tax cuts raised taxes on the middle class. Ours went up $400 per year. To further the issue, the cuts he did make in spending caused your and our state and local taxes climb up much higher to make up for their unfunded mandates. Something is trickling down, and it’s yellow and stinks.

    No more terrorist attacks is false. There are over 4000 dead American soldiers due to terrorist attacks. And bin Laden is still on the loose and laughing at us.

    Pro-life, well you got me on that one. But I am, like most people, not a single issue voter.

  11. cristina. 4 November 2008, 12:41 am

    Well, actually, federal taxes are lower. If your stupid statepeople raised the taxes, it’s not Bush’s fault.

    I was talking about attacks at home, not in war zones. Thanks to the pervert president Clinton Osama is on the loose, so you can’t blame Bush.

    Pro-life was third issue on the list, so you can’t say most people are single-issue voters…..

  12. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:52 am

    Unfunded mandates from the feds, like No Child Left Behind, is not the states’ fault.

    9/11 came during Bush’s term. Instead of pursuing him, Bush, with McGrumpy’s support, started the quagmire of Iraq.

    Reread my last line in my last comment. I said that most people were NOT single issue voters.

  13. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 9:42 am

    @capper:

    Heh. And you got the impression I was a big fan of Bush…..how? :) No, he hasn’t been the conservative I had hoped he would be, but considering the circumstances he’s had to deal with, it’s been about the best I could expect….sometimes. We got attacked. We could possibly get attacked again, given the sieve with have for a border. grrrrrrrrrrr

    Right minded folks have looked at BO’s voting record in the IL senate. It’s on record….he voted to ban ammunition…hunting ammo. Yet turned around and said the opposite. FYI, I don’t drink up the special interest kool aid, y’know.

    I didn’t think the Supreme Court would uphold McCain/Feingold…an obvious violation of the 1st Amendment, but you saw what happened with a left leaning one before we got 2 of the ‘good guys’.

    How ’bout that redistribution of wealth? He’s said it many times over the years, not just recently. Do you think you deserve what someone else worked hard for all their lives? Believe it or not, you can actually give extra to the IRS, if you so choose. No one is stopping all those Hollyweird types from handing over their entire income to the gubmint. Even Buffet can cough up a few bil, if that’s his choice.

    If you haven’t notice, quite a few politicians have committed political suicide over the years….with the “it’s for the chiiiiiiiiiiillllllrens” battle cry that has worn thin, and is NEVER for the kids.

    My irrational fear is that y’all elect an inexperienced unknown that will bring down this country to levels even you couldn’t imagine. BUT, if that happens, like I said….he’ll be a ONE term guy, if he makes it that long. I don’t wish him any harm, but you know as well as I do, there are lunatics running wild out there. Then we’ll be stuck with the gaffe machine. Good heavens, couldn’t he have at least picked a person whose foot isn’t firmly planted in his mouth? Jiminy Crickets! Honestly, I would have at least trusted Hillary with the safety of the country over him.

  14. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 9:44 am

    @capper:

    I want those feathers…..to add to my collection. Heh. Now the goofy neighbor has guinea hens all over the place. Jeeeez! No feathers to add. :?

  15. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 9:54 am

    @capper:

    Well, I don’t know how you taxes went up. Ours went down some…..especially after we got out of Wisconsin. Y’all are being taxed into poverty y’know. Might want to consider moving to a RED state. LOL Although, I’ll admit, the local sales tax is higher, but our property taxes are about a fifth of what they were up there for a LOT more house and land. Just a thought.

    As for Iraq, I tell ya, we did win….initially. We got bogged down with incompetence and PC. Sorry, ya don’t fight a PC war and expect to win. Having a friendly ‘base’ in the Middle East is a real good idea. Honestly Capper, I think we could have been out of there a long time ago if there hadn’t been so much crap going on here. The BDS is what has kept over there longer than was ever necessary. Freedom of speech is the icing on our cake, but not to the detriment of our soldiers lives….in the case of Runnin’ Reid. The enemy hears our so called leaders, and it gives them encouragement. Do you believe that is a good way to win a war, right or wrong war….any war?

  16. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 10:01 am

    Oh yeah…..some of those unfunded mandates are for the old folks. Now, personally, I think we should get rid of social security. AND medicare, and a whole slew of other mandates. Anything with “mandate” on it makes my skin crawl. One more ‘social’ program managed by the gubmint that can’t even balance it’s own check book? Pfft! Capper, we need to wipe the whole slate clean, and start over. Not one incumbent should ever win more than two terms. That’s one reason we’re in this financial mess.

  17. Chris from Racine. 4 November 2008, 10:07 am

    And on another note, have a great trip Kate!!! Hopefully you’ll come back to president-elect McCain…

  18. sarge charlie. 4 November 2008, 10:25 am

    you chered me up, I am adding this to my post

  19. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 11:07 am

    @Chris from Racine:

    Thank you ma’am. Gonna get it in gear right now. Shoot, I didn’t realize it was so late. Oh well, we found a short cut to the airport…. not as short as I’d like. I wonder how much a helicopter would cost. LMAO

  20. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:08 pm

    The point, Kate, is that we should not have been in Iraq in the first place. Think of all those lives and billions of dollars wasted. That would have funded even the most liberal liberal’s pipe dreams of social programs, just with the money bilked by Halliburton and Blackwater.

    And what is so wrong about a mulitmillionaire CEO paying a few extra bucks in taxes, so a peon like me could have a little more?

    And I’d rather have the gaffe machine than the corrupt moose-alini.

  21. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 12:28 pm

    @capper:

    “Corrupt moose-alini”? Cute…but totally incorrect. LOL

    The point is dear sir, that even if Iraq was a mistake, we were there, and the point of any war, is to win. They did remove a bunch of yellow cake, they did find WMDs, although not as many as Bush AND Powell claimed. Saddam was a threat to the region and his own people. He should have been taken out after the first Gulf War, but hind sight doesn’t do a whole lot of good, right? We need to win, and get this over with. I’ve no doubt that we’ll be in a war until the end of time. Those folks want to kill us…you and me, and our kids, and our kid’s kids. They want to put me in a burka. I don’t bloody well think so, although, it would cover a lot of major flaws….like my entire bod. :?

    Nothing wrong with a multimillionaire paying extra, they already can, IF they so choose. But to punish folks for succeeding is just plain wrong. Then again, there are some CEOs that should be behind bars…you know…like from Frannie and Freddie, and Goldman, etc. I don’t much cotton to folks screwing over other folks.

    I’m afraid you might get what you wish for, but I’m fairly sure, you being a reasonably intelligent fellow and all, you are going to have some serious second thoughts. Lord knows, I did with Bush. LOL

  22. capper. 4 November 2008, 12:55 pm

    Nope, she’s still corrupt and doesn’t like to follow rules. Also will fire anyone that doesn’t kiss her butt the right way.

    The only yellow cake would have been stale angel food cake. Only a handful of extremists want to hurt anyone, but it is easier to generalize, I guess.

    I have a problem worrying about people “enjoying success” when I think of the GM CEO’s getting millions in bonuses alone, while all the people in Janesville don’t know where their next check is going to come from. But that’s just me. I would have to win the lottery to make enough money to be just out of the hole, after taking care of my pa and grandpa, much less rich. I know I sure could use that money back that Bush has been giving to them CEO’s.

    And McCain means McSame, so sorry, but I cannot afford or support that type of person.

  23. olbroad. 4 November 2008, 1:02 pm

    @capper:

    Pfft! Do I have stoopid stamped on my forehead today? LOL I don’t support McCain. He was NOT my choice, he was the media’s choice, same as Obama. Should have been Hillary and someone who is NOT like Bush.

    All the digging on Palin did not find any wrong doing, no ethics problems, no personnel problems….nada. Don’t your ever read the CNN site? Sheesh! The only problems were found by an Obama supporter, and they were seriously flawed.

    Again, I ask…do I have stoopid stamped on my forehead today? LOL I’ve never claimed those ridiculous bonuses for the back stabbing CEOs was a good thing. I’m talking about the people who actually build businesses, and create jobs for the working class folks. Jeeez! Truth be told, I’m closer to Libertarian (it’s that drug and open borders thing that stops me) than I am Republican…..but I am a dihard conservative, and that’s not going to change. :)

    I suppose that couple of tons of yellow cake they transported to Canada from Iraq doesn’t count? Hmmm….
