An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

Here!

We made it to the airport – 3 hours early.  Oh well, that’s ok, at least we weren’t late.  Obviously I was checked in this time.

With an hour to kill before heading through security, we thought it prudent to grab a bite since we don’t be fed till the morning, at least that’s what we thought.  Naturally, the topic of conversation turned to the election.  From the lady that checked us in for the airline voted for McCain.  Her daughter who works in Atlanta was informed, depending on who won the election, don’t bother to show up to work.  Hmmmm..  The waitress who took our order?  Voted for McCain.  The woman who gave this ol crippled up broad a ride in Atlanta to the shuttle, military family, McCain.

We’re finally in Atlanta, all ready to board the plane for the really LONG leg of our trip.  The plane broke.  Seems there was a fuel leak and instead of taking the time to find the leak, they brought over a new plane.  Again, finally.  We had already been through security, and there were even people already nice and comfy who had to get off.  They kept us rounded up for about an hour, then decided we should be set free, as long as we all went through the security check again.  Not a problem.  The Mr and I wandered off to the smoking area, where there were a whole LOT of Army regulars.  They weren’t too thrilled with a possibly of a President Obama.  They want their Commander in Chief to actually know what the hell he’s doing.  They don’t see him as capable in that high office.

Then came the counting.  Naturally, all the idjit boxes were tuned to CNN, this was Atlanta after all.  The reporting was less than professional, if you know what I mean.  At one point, one of the weasels reported that the McCain bunch booed Obama.  No, that’s not true, cuz I saw the bit they were talking about.  When McCain made his concession speach, the crown booed his conceding, NOT Obama.  Sheesh.

Well, many of the airport employees were watching every TV available.  Major cheers broke out, which was a tad disturbing.  We’re not taking quite cheers, and congratulations to each other.  No, we’re talking very LOUD cheering with some choice four lettered words thrown in for emphasis.

Ok, after one side got over their depression, and the other did quite down a bit, we were finally able to board a new plane.

I LOVE flying in First/Business Elite.  You’ve got so much room to get semi comfy.

Right now, I’m so tired, my brain is about to explode, so if you want to know where we ended up?

Now granted, that’s a pretty crappy picture, but I was trying to walk and carry all my crap too.  Obviously, since we got here at nearly nine, we haven’t seen much but the airport, which is beautiful, the inside of  minivan, and the hotel.  Tomorrow, we are getting a fairly early start…if we ever come out of our coma.

But, just wanted everyone to know we survived, have all our luggage, and at least a small part of our sanity left!
