Playing Tourist on Day 8
This morning we flew back to Tel Aviv to be picked up by Avi, our guide. Now, I’ve had some issues with my first name getting through security, but this was by far, the most interesting. The guy was unbelievably polite! Honestly, TSA could learn a LOT from Israeli security folks!
We got to Tel Aviv around 11 and immediately started our trek north. First stop, Caesarea! The Mr and I both noticed this sign before heading into the park:
Well, why not! Vegetarians need love too, I suppose.
Playing Tourist On Day 7
We actually got to sleep a little later today. However, since we have gotten use to waking up early, sleeping till 7 was later. No major rush to go anywhere, but we did want to take in the The Underwater Observatory Marine Park here in Eilat. I’m not real big on fish stuff, but the Mr likes it, so I guess it’s only fair to let him choose what we do once in a while, right? J Well, I do kind of like looking at the different types of sea critters, I just don’t know diddly about them, other than I don’t like to eat them. They taste fishy, don’cha know.
So, we took a cab ride. The town isn’t all that big, and we thought perhaps we could walk….well HE thought maybe we could walk, I didn’t think it was such a great idea….but the lady at the tour desk said it was a bit farther than you’d think. She was right. Perhaps 30 years, and quite a few pounds ago, we could have walked it in an hour. Now? It would have taken us a couple of days, and a trip to the emergency room.
Playing Tourist On Day 6 – Day Trip
(Ok, so it’s no longer Day 6….obviously. I had some computer issues, and ya know what? Didn’t much care. LOL I have been way too tired every day to head to the lobby or fight with a weak connection in the rooms. I have been keeping track, not to worry. Have more.
)
Our day started earlier than normal. Since we had to be in the hotel lobby at 7:30am, I thought it would be a REAL good idea to have a wake up call at 5:30. Well, I’m not much of a morning person, so it’s better to have a little extra time to get at least a half eye open, right?
Breakfast is served at 7am, and since we didn’t know when we’d get lunch, thought it prudent to eat something. We ate, and waited. And waited. Ok, it wasn’t that bad, but it seemed that way. The mini bus finally showed up, and we were on our way…..to wait some more.
Why is it that customs, in any country, seems to take longer than any other country? This is just a portion of the people milling around, waiting in the same area. What was suppose to take about 15 minutes, took more than an hour.
UAW Thugs: Gimme Money
Demonizing Billy The Bomber
Now that the elections are over, the MSM is now feeling it necessary to actually act like real journalist and look into the past of Obama. ABC news has an interview with Obama’s buddy, Bill ‘The Bomber’ Ayers.
Poor Billy says he was demonized by republicans. Bwaahaaaahaaaa. Cry me a river Billy.
Ayers became a bogeyman for Sen. John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin, who demanded to know more about Obama’s relationship with his Chicago neighbor. Palin accused Obama of “palling around … with a terrorist.”
Breaking his silence, Ayers told “Good Morning America” today that the GOP attack was a “dishonest narrative…to demonize me.”
“What you call the violent past, that was a time [the Vietnam War] when thousands of people were being murdered every month by our own government… We were on the right side,” he told Chris Cuomo on “GMA.”
The co-founder of the Weather Underground was, as McCain has claimed, unrepentant about the the bombings his group committed during the 1960s.
“The content of the Vietnam protest is that there were despicable acts going on, but the despicable were being done by our goverment… I never hurt anyone,” Ayers said.
“Frankly, I dont think we did enough, just as today I dont’ think we’ve done enough to stop these wars,” he said.
Ayers, 63, currently a distinguished professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago, became a political piñata for McCain, R-Ariz., and Palin during the presidential campaign.
Never hurt anyone???? I do recall one of his own minions died in a botched bombing job and the intent to kill others was definitely there.
As far as being demonized, I think Billy’s own actions did a pretty good job of that.
I also love the “DISTINGUISHED professor” bit too. DIstinguished my a**. This guy should be behind bars….
There was a video but I couldn’t bring myself to add it….
