La. voters oust indicted Rep. William Jefferson

Voters in Louisiana ousted indicted Democratic Rep. William Jefferson on Saturday, instead electing a Republican attorney who will be the first Vietnamese-American in Congress.

Unofficial results showed Anh “Joseph” Cao denying Jefferson a 10th term. Republicans made an aggressive push to take the seat from the 61-year-old incumbent, who has pleaded not guilty to charges of bribery, laundering money and misusing his congressional office.

Cao, 41, won a predominantly black and heavily Democratic district that covers most of New Orleans.

Finally….a bit of common sense!

U.N. Insanity Continues To Spread

Climate protesters demand swifter U.N. action

Thousands of climate protesters, some dressed as polar bears, devils or penguins, demanded on Saturday swifter action from the United Nations to combat global warming.

Outside U.N.-led talks in Poland aimed at pushing 187 countries toward stiffer targets to fight global warming, some 1,000 demonstrators said governments were risking the planet’s future by delaying action to squabble over who was to blame.

Several thousand more protesters took part in a march through London to demand “urgent and radical action” from the British government on climate change.

I’m at a loss. What are these people smoking? Do they even use what few gray cells they have left?  With all the evidence to the contrary, they are still believing the lies of the Boracle and friends.

I think they just like to dress up in animal costumes.

Perhaps, if the Uselss Numnuts would come clean about their flawed “chart”, this madness would end?  Probably not.  There’s money in it for them, by ruining nations.

Caroline is latest Kennedy to eye NY Senate seat

Caroline Kennedy – daughter of a slain president, niece of senators, and zealous guardian of her own privacy – is interested in the Senate seat once held by her uncle, her cousin says.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he and the rest of the powerful Kennedy clan are urging Caroline to seek the New York governor’s appointment to the Senate seat now held by Hillary Rodham Clinton – and added she is ready and seriously considering it.

The Senate is already a laughing stock, thanks to the antics of the so called leadership. Do they really want another do nothing in there, too? I suppose working on charities and such, she’s gotten real good at taking money from people and giving it to others? :?

Iran, Ecuador call for expansion of all-out ties

The two sides’ talks focused on various topics such as expansion of cooperation in oil, agriculture, industry and commerce as well as implementing joint projects, said President Ahmadinejad.

Expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries will benefit both nations, he said and expressed the hope that the current visit of the Ecuadorian president to Iran would bear fruits.

The Ecuadorian president, for his part, called for bolstering of relations with Tehran.

Commercial attaches of Iran and Ecuador are now active and it is expected that the two sides’ embassies would be opened in early next year, he said.

He said his country is ready to broaden cooperation with Iran in various fields such as politics, economy, commerce and trade.

I dunno. Is it such a good idea to allow Ahmadinnerjacket an even greater foot hold in the Western hemisphere? I mean, he’s already palling around with that raving lunatic, Chavez.

Grim echo: Man on bond held in new killing

A man who was freed on bond after being charged with first-degree murder in 2006 was charged Friday with first-degree murder in a homicide this week in Raleigh.

Mardacy Greer, 21, is accused of killing Nikilis Guy, 19, who was found in a bullet-riddled Ford Mustang early Thursday in the 3600 block of Pershing Park in Frayser.
(…)
Except for death penalty cases, first-degree murder defendants are entitled to a bond, but one often isn’t set unless a defense attorney asks for it.

Is there some kind of stupid pill some judges take before going into court? This POS should NEVER have been given bond. Judge Paula Skahan needs to resign……NOW!  Actions have consequences, and her actions resulted in the death of another person.  First degree murder?  Bond?  I don’t bloody well think so!

Report: Egypt finds massive weapons cache in Sinai

The report, in Falastin al Youm, said Egyptian troops found in the northern and middle part of the peninsula two weapons caches, one of them, buried deep underground, containing more than 250 kilograms of dynamite. In another cache, 211 anti-aircraft missile shells were discovered. Israel Radio quoted an official as saying Gaza terrorists were planning to extract the remainder of the dynamite found in the rocket shells.

The weapons were in all likelihood intended for the Gaza Strip, and the smugglers who hid them in the desert were still at large.

Gee, wonder what they were planning on doing with all that dynamite? Make fire works for the end of Ramadan perhaps? (massive sarcarsm)

EU pushes climate deal in Poland

France’s Nicolas Sarkozy, the EU’s current chairman, is meeting Eastern member states in Poland to try to agree on an ambitious climate change package.

Countries like Poland and the Czech Republic oppose deep cuts in carbon dioxide emissions, saying they unfairly penalise their dependence on coal.

The cuts also do not take account of the lower levels of earnings in their countries, Eastern leaders argue.

The EU plan would cut greenhouse gas emissions by 20% by the year 2020.

Do they actually go out and look for the most ignorant and naive to run the show? I’m constantly amazed as just how utterly stupid, or completely dishonest, these “climate change” morons can be. It appears they’d rather see the destruction of civilization than face a cold hard reality. THEY ARE CALLED SEASONS! They change. The earth has been changing for eons. Man had DICK to do with it!

Congress may tap fuel-efficiency funds to help carmakers

Faced with staggering new unemployment figures, Democratic congressional leaders said Friday that they were ready to provide a rescue plan for U.S. automakers, and that they expected to vote on the legislation in a special session next week.

Seeking to end a weeks-long stalemate between the Bush administration and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, senior aides said that the money would probably come from $25 billion in federally subsidized loans intended for developing advanced fuel-efficient cars.

Why is that woman still in a position of power? She’s more ignorant of reality than a 2 year old, and an embarrassment to the entire country! There’s a few items they might want to take into consideration. 80% of the folks out here in the real world do NOT want another government bailout. You can call it a loan, but bailout is what it is! We no longer have a Congress that represents the people….you know, us little folks our here that pay the salary of your sorry asses!

FBI executes search warrant on Harvey Police Department

The FBI raided the offices of the Harvey Police Department on Friday just days after four officers were arrested for allegedly providing protection for drug dealers.

FBI agents and three Cook County sheriff’s officers spent nearly eight hours searching the station, but they wouldn’t comment on what they were looking for or what they later removed in large white cartons.

FBI spokesman Ross Rice would only say agents were “looking for evidence of a crime” but wouldn’t confirm whether the warrant was related to the Tuesday arrests.

Why does it not surprise me that this is in the Chicago area? Hmmmm….

Anti-God Sign Resurfaces in Seattle After Disappearing From Washington State Capitol

Washington State Patrol Sgt. Ted DeHart says the agency is working to confirm the reports that the sign was turned in to a Seattle radio station Friday morning.

A receptionist at radio station KMPS says a man dropped off the sign around 10 a.m. and asked her to give it to show host Ichabod Caine. She says the man did not say how he came by it before he left.

The sign was put up in the rotunda by the Freedom From Religion Foundation. It says, in part, that “religion is but myth and superstition.” The Capitol also has a Christian Nativity scene and a Christmas tree.

Ya know, these yahoos are going to be real surprised when they stand before their Maker! If they don’t want to celebrate the birth of our Lord, then they don’t have to….no one is forcing them.

Guns will be allowed in national parks

Campers may now pack heat along with their sleeping bags when they travel to national parks.

The Bush administration on Friday struck down federal regulations banning loaded guns in most national forests, a move that was widely seen as a parting shot on behalf of the National Rifle Association.

The ruling overturned a 25-year-old federal regulation severely restricting concealed firearms in national parks and wildlife refuges. The new rule, which would take effect in January, would apparently allow anyone who already has a concealed weapons permit in his or her state to also tote a gun in federal parks within state boundaries.

Chalk up one for the good guys! :)

2 Samuel 2:1-3

1 And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron.

2 So David went up thither, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail Nabal’s wife the Carmelite.

3 And his men that were with him did David bring up, every man with his household: and they dwelt in the cities of Hebron.
