An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

Frustrating, Amazing, and Depressing Night

The evening started out pleasant enough. The limo was there to pick us up, right on time. Problem was, not everyone was there yet. Come to find out, one of the people failed to inform his lady friend that the time had changed, so we had to wait around for her and her little one to get there. Honestly, to me it wasn’t an issue. The way I figured it, we’d be doing a WHOLE lot of waiting in the near future, as in sitting in traffic, so what’s the big deal.

Once all were safely seated on the slut mobile, cocktails were in order. Guess who got to play bartender!

225 Ol’ Ick did the honors!

226 Frank, fixed his own.  Straight from the brewery!

Short person was on the pole, but sat down too fast.  Dang!     227

2281 Although Ick did check it’s sturdiness.  Seemed to be in working order.  I missed Frank’s performance though.  Thankfully!  Heh.

Ick and Brat snuggling.  Ain’t that cute?  :?    229

All was going well and we had plenty of time to get to the stadium by kick off.  Well, we THOUGHT so at any rate.  Yes, traffic was ridiculous, but still we had one of those big things that get to pull into the special parking lot, so we get dropped off right at the appropriate gate.  Evidently, the Irving Police department, sphincters….one and all, did NOT get the memo!  They kept directing the driver to turn left.

After the first circuit, the young lady was about to explode, so she and most of the others got off to walk to the stadium for the necessary facilities.  Once again, we passed by the gate we were suppose to enter, and once again, the moron in uniform made us turn left.  If you’ve ever been out to Texas Stadium, you know there are a LOT of parking lots.  Blue is the ‘special’ one for the folks who are paying through the snout to park there.  THAT is where we were suppose to go!

The second time around, Brat and I were at that bursting point ourselves.  We were within walking distance, so insisted he open the door and let us out!  As we were hurrying off towards relief, I saw one of Irving’s finest talking to our limo driver.  We found out later that he had his nose up his hind end, insisting the driver couldn’t let people off where we got out.  Too freakin’ bad!!!!  Luckily, Ick was not arrested, and they proceeded to make another stab at getting into the parking lot!

In the meantime, Brat and I got to the stadium gate, got through, dealt with the issues, and proceeded to do a little shopping.  Hey!  They had some cool, overpriced stuff with the appropriate logos and years, etc.  Had to pick up a couple of things, right?  It’s a female thing I guess.  :)

We found our seats, FINALLY, towards the end of the first quarter, and kept expecting the Mr and Ick to show up any minute.  Pfft!  They were still making the rounds, watching the game on the big screen in the limo.

230 The score was 7-3 when I first noticed there was actually a game going on.  :)

I guess these young ladies hadn’t been told it was actually right nippy out this evening.  232

Of course, I had to get a picture of the guy in the hat!  233 You know there had to be one, right?  Actually, there were quite a few, but this guy was close.

Somewhere towards the end of the half, they appeared.  Ick was not happy, but he was pleased they finally got in!  The Mr was just there.  He doesn’t much care for crowds, and THAT was a major crowd!  Things went down hill from there, but I won’t go into details.

Yes, my ‘Boys lost.  Oh hell, let’s face it!  They didn’t lose…. they bloomin’ gave it away!   26-24

And it was COLD!  I have no idea what the actual temperature was, but the wind chill was quite nippy!  To the point that the cheerleaders were finally wearing their coats!  If my fingers hadn’t been freezing, I would have gotten a great shot of the brat bundle up like a kid in a snow storm!

Once we finally found everyone, we made our way back to the ‘party bus’.  Needless to say, the mood wasn’t quite so chipper as when we started out, but not a problem.  We went, we saw, we said good-bye.

235 And of course, some moron had to mess with my shot!  Pfft!

If id have had a snow suit, i would have gladly walked like the kid from “A christmas story” just to stay warm… but since we get snow about 4 hours a year… its not really worth it to own..
