We Survived!
It was a pretty good day. I mean after all, Christmas is always a good day, especially if you spend it with family and friends, right?
The Mr and I managed to make it to Ick and Brat’s, and a very impatient Short Person by 10am. Hey. we’re old, we aren’t gonna go nuts on Christmas morning y’know. The Mr had to wake me up as is, cuz I just wasn’t ready to wake up at 8. (Those middle of the night power surges tend to mess with the sleeping process, don’cha know!)
Thankfully, there was coffee available. Imagine my surprise when my all time favorite Dallas Cowboy was sitting there waiting….JUST for ME!

Ick played Santa, and passed out presents, one at a time.
I got the impression Short Person was extremely joyous with all of her presents, but these two? Yeah….she was over the top for the over sized Barbi doll house and the Wii.

Earlier, the Mr and I had decided we weren’t going to give each other anything. Well, I tried. I really did! But when I saw this extremely unique thing, I KNEW I had to get it for him. At least I knew he didn’t have one of ‘em! Yup. He was surprised!

The most entertaining was watching Rocky Moose trying to eat the plastic tree. Ick would shoo him off, and he’d find a bag to munch on. Shoo him off of that, and it was back to the tree.

After a few attmepts to pretent we were all “Smarter Than A 5th Grader” on the Wii, and faily miserably, the guys ‘bowled’. Yeah. It was a tad amusing. Then, it was time for food! Honestly, I don’t know which army they thought they were going to be feeding, but none of ‘em showed up! Ick, Brat and SP are going to be eating turkey, ham, and numerous side dishes for the next 6 weeks!
Since what little bit of a dining area they have is taken up by grown up toys, we all sat down to watch one of Ick’s presents, The Dark Knight. Dang! That’s a REALLY good movie! Totally different from what I was expecting. If Heath Ledger doesn’t get the Best Actor, then something is REALLY wrong with those people out there on the left coast. Oh yeah…there is. But you know what I mean. The directing was pretty dadburn good too!
The Mr and I are now safely back in our motel room, trying not to moan and groan in over stuffed discomfort! I thought I had taken more pictures, but I guess maybe all that flashing was coming from SP and her new camera.
I pray everyone had a terrific, and safe, day with their and friends, and remembered exactly Who’s birthday we are celebrating!
GOD BLESS US, ONE AND ALL!
The REASON For the Season

Luke 2:1-20
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)
3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.
4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)
5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.
7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.
9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.
13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,
14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.
15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.
17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.
18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.
20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.
