Not hard to prophecy something that's already happened. There are now a couple of generations that have been trained to look to the government for answers. It's a sad state of affairs. It might actually take the failure of government to meet all those 'needs' for folks to relearn self-sufficiency and 'love for neighbor' = a personal act of help, not something you pawn off on 'the government'.
