TITLE 4 – CHAPTER 1: 8
8. Respect for flag

(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

Whoever is selling these so called flags should be prosecuted!

Just a Reminder

18 January 2009, 11:42 am. 9 Comments. Filed under Uncategorized.

With all the hype on the idjit box (aka TV), both nationally and locally, on the coronation….er inauguration, I just wanted to share this reminder once again.

That ‘hope and change’ y’all were waiting on? Well, the only change we’re going to be seeing is a return to the Clinton years, with a LOT more socialism thrown in for your hopeLESS enjoyment. 52% is NOT a landslide.

Seems the folks in the REAL world saw through the media hype.  Shame the rest of the country didn’t.

Bruce Springsteen: George W Bush ruined lives

Describing President Bush’s period in power as a “nightmare” for most Americans, the songwriter said: “We had a historically blind administration who didn’t take consideration of the past; thousands of thousands of people died, lives were ruined and terrible, terrible things occurred because there was no sense of real history, no sense that the past is living and real.”

The past is living and real? No, you moron! While the past may be real, it sure as hell isn’t ‘living’. That’s why the call it the past. It’s in the past, no longer now.  Kind of like you….once relevant, but no longer.

NOT The Worst

18 January 2009, 10:35 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion.

Let’s try to put it all in a little perspective, ok?

Shocker! Bush Not the Worst US President

With Tuesday’s looming immaculate inauguration, we will see the conclusion of the Presidency of George W. Bush. A man maligned by the media from the beginning of his first term when they demanded recounts until he won then called it a “stolen election”. To the final days of his second term, when Everyone is trying to define the Presidency of W as one of, if not ‘the worst in history’. Since those suffering from Bush Derangement syndrome are unable to look past their own biases to see the truth about W. I thought I would make it easier, by putting it into terms they could understand, I’ll compare him to Bill Clinton.

Did Bush make mistakes?  Damn skippy!  Did Clinton?  Oh hell yeah!  Will B. Hussein Obama?  NO doubt in my mind!  So, let’s all just take a deep breath, and look at some of the realities, shall we?

Read the rest here for a few comparisons.

Kind of Funny, Actually

18 January 2009, 10:19 am. Comments Off. Filed under Opinion.

O, SAY CAN YOU PEE ON TIMES

THE self-important reporters and editors at The New York Times are pouting like spoiled children because they aren’t getting enough attention from Barack Obama.

The editorial staffers at Arthur Sulzberger Jr.’s struggling broadsheet – who are used to being doted on by politicians, especially Democrats – have been whining all week about the President-elect’s lack of deference.

While Bill Clinton and George W. Bush both granted the Times big interviews before taking office, Obama declined, leading Times political editor Dick Stevenson to complain to Politico.com’s Michael Calderone: “We have had very, very few opportunities over the course of this campaign – never mind the transition to the presidency – to have a sustained conversation about a wide array of subjects.”

But maybe Obama doesn’t see the point in setting up meetings with the Times, considering that when they are invited, they don’t bother to show up.

Times Op-Ed columnist Paul Krugman, a Nobel Prize winner, passed up an invite from Obama to a meeting with liberal pundits at the transition headquarters in DC on Wednesday morning. Though his colleagues Maureen Dowd and Frank Rich attended, Krugman told Page Six: “I was speaking in New York to the Foreign Policy Association, a large group. This was a long-standing commitment, which I didn’t feel I could break for the sake of a get-together, even with the president-elect.”

The salt in the wound really came Thursday, when Obama toured the Washington Post’s offices, shaking hands and chatting with the starstruck staff – while Times reporter Helene Cooper waited outside.

Cooper, who filed the pool report on Obama’s visit, termed the DC Post headquarters a “nondescript Soviet-style building” and whined: “Pool is holding in a van outside . . . and will exercise enormous restraint by ending report before saying what [she] really thinks about this turn of events.”

Hamas Agrees to Cease-Fire, Gives Israel One Week to Remove Troops

Hamas and other Palestinian factions in Gaza say they will give Israel a one-week ceasefire starting Sunday.

An Islamic Jihad official in Gaza confirmed in a phone call to FOX News that Hamas and all the Palestinian factions have agreed on a cease-fire. Hamas is giving Israel one week to pull out the troops out of Gaza.

A senior Hamas official also said the group’s wing in Syria agreed to a weeklong cease-fire.

But they wouldn’t lie about it, would they?

Rocket Roulette Resumes in Southern Israel

Gaza terrorists resumed firing rocket and mortar attacks at southern Israel on Sunday, ignoring the unilateral ceasefire declared by the Jewish State hours earlier, at 2:00 a.m. Twelve hours after the start of the ceasefire, some 15 rockets and mortars had been fired at Israeli civilians in the south and Israeli military forces had attacked the terror cells that launched them.

A short-range rocket stuck the Eshkol region at approximately 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, landing in an open area. No one was injured and no damage was reported. The attack came one hour after Hamas terrorists allegedly announced their acceptance of the ceasefire. However, they continued to demand that the IDF withdraw all its forces from the region, which Israel is not likely to do in the near future.

Uh….yes. Actually, they would! They don’t want peace. They don’t give a flip about the children. They want death and destruction. Period. They are evil. I find it amazing that anyone could see otherwise.

Brown’s fury at Royal Bank of Scotland’s £2.5bn loan to Russian oligarch

Former Royal Bank of Scotland boss Sir Fred Goodwin, branded ‘the world’s worst banker’, was blamed last night for forcing taxpayers to write off a £2.5billion loan to a Russian oligarch.

The money was lent by the bank, which is now controlled by the Government, to Leonid Blavatnik, 51, a London-based billionaire who owns chemical giant LyondellBasell, which is on the verge of collapse.

Treasury officials examining RBS’s books were horrified to learn that they included the sum to Mr Blavatnik, which has now been written off.

Well, I’m not sure this clown is “the world’s worst banker” or not. I think we’ve got a few on THIS side of the pond that could go head to head with him on utter incompetence!

How Kent Williams become the House’s new speaker

Williams so resisted and even resented the lock-step expectations put upon caucus members, he was willing to buck his party to assert his independence. Just hours before the speaker vote Tuesday, a letter sent to GOP lawmakers last month by House Republican Whip Debra Maggart was still on his mind, according to Danny D. Smith, a supporter and longtime friend from Elizabethton. The two had breakfast together that morning.

Smith said Williams viewed the letter as a threat. It outlined state Republican Party Chairman Robin Smith’s intention to go after, and strip from the party’s ballot in 2010, any member who failed to support the party’s nominees for leadership.

“(Williams) said, ‘I don’t care who Robin Smith is; there is no person in the state of Tennessee or group of people who are going to tell me how to vote except the people in Carter County,’ ” Danny Smith said. “It’s like a rattlesnake. If you back it into a corner and you push it so far, it’s going to strike. I think that letter tipped the scale. If that letter had not come out, and he had not been threatened, this whole thing probably wouldn’t have happened. That’s my opinion.”

Hmm…. I might have to take a closer look at this guy. While I’m beyond annoyed that he basically gave control of the house to the Dems, I also don’t believe that it is the Party’s job to shove anything down anyone’s throat. I don’t even know what the Republican Party stands for anymore, state or national. I did at one time, and was a staunch supporter of those principals. No longer. I still have MY principals and beliefs, but looks to me like they lost theirs.

Obama, Warren and the new evangelicals

In addition to knowing President-elect Barack Obama for a decade, the Rev. Jim Wallis would seem like the type of nationally known, centrist, evangelical pastor chosen to give the inaugural invocation. Instead, Obama is still hearing criticism for inviting the Rev. Rick Warren, a conservative Orange County pastor who opposes same-sex marriage and abortion rights, to take that marquee inaugural position.

But choosing Warren makes long-term political sense, say Wallis and others. Even though Warren’s support of California’s Proposition 8 and comments made in a Beliefnet.com interview last month equating gay marriage to pedophilia drew widespread criticism from some of Obama’s core supporters, analysts say Warren is symbolic of a new political reality.

Psst! There is no such thing as a “centrist” evangelical. If that’s what they call themselves, they need to go back and read the WHOLE Bible, not just bits and pieces of the ‘make ya feel good’ parts. And I’d really appreciate it if they’d stop taking verses out of context to support their socialist, homosexual ‘marriage’, baby murdering, big gubmint ideology, thank you very much!

Case gives glimpse into drug hit squad’s inner workings

On his last night of freedom, Gabriel Cardona laid on his bed in a stash house in north Laredo, chatting on his cell phone about how he’d sliced open two American teenagers with a broken bottle.

“You should have been there,” Cardona, a 22-year-old Laredo high school dropout told a fellow member of the Gulf Cartel’s hitman squad in an April 10, 2006, conversation intercepted by federal agents. Eleven days earlier, Jorge “Poncho” Aviles, 19, and Inez Villarreal, 14, were abducted from a Nuevo Laredo nightclub and taken to an abandoned house south of the border, tortured, gutted and then burned in 55-gallon drums, according to recenty unsealed federal court records.

“Life” in prison? I don’t think so! This POS should have been dead right after the recording was made known. Gavel down, bullet between the eyes. Right next to all his compadres!

Axelrod: Obama to engage in diplomacy right away

A top aide to President-elect Barack Obama says the new administration plans to act quickly and engage in diplomacy around the world.

David Axelrod said Sunday that everyone is hopeful that the cease-fire in the Middle East lasts.

He said the events around the world demand that Obama act quickly, and the American people will see that as he takes office. Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” Axelrod did not provide details for what Obama plans to do about the Middle East.

Well, it didn’t last! What do they B. Hussein is going to do? Walk across the Atlantic, heal centuries old of wounds? Pfft!  All of this is nothing but a bad joke, and the laughs are on the American people.  Way to go!  /snark

‘I’ve had rougher landings,’ says Shelby County woman about crash

As the pilot of US Airways Flight 1549 prepared to crash into the Hudson River on Thursday afternoon, a Shelby County woman linked arms with her seat mate and braced for impact.

“I’ve had rougher landings,” Claudette Mason, 46, a sales rep with International Paper, said on Saturday. “It was turbulent, but it could have been worse.”

That speaks volumes of the pilot and crew!

Verse of the Day

18 January 2009, 8:38 am. Comments Off. Filed under Faith.

1 Thessalonians 5:1-8

1 But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.

3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.

8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
