An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings

Nice Side Trip

Well, we’re back from our little jaunt down to Clarksdale.  No, we never did get breakfast, but that’s ok, cuz neither of us were all that hungry when we left, or even when we got down there.  It’s about 45 miles, so it didn’t take too long.  Since we had already stopped by there last month, only to find it closed, we knew how to get to the museum.  It’s not real big, but it’s kind of neat.  All kind of guitars that belonged to people, most of whom, I’ve never heard of, but no matter.

I took a picture of this really cool harmonica display:

Then I noticed a couple of really terrific dresses on display.  I took this picture (sorry ’bout that glare thingy):

When I was getting ready to snap a shot of the other dress, that I absolutely loved, that automatically made me think of Ms Phelony, the Mr informed me there was a sign that said no picture taking allowed.  Well, OOOPS!  I didn’t see the bloomin’ sign.  But me, being the nice person I am, didn’t get the picture.  sigh…  Sorry ’bout that Jones.  :?

I’m wondering how Muddy Waters’ cabin got into that building?  Was that the real wood and all?  Not much to it…one room, that’s it!  Now THAT is poor.  All you yahoos whining about only having 3 TVs, or only one Caddy…..SHADDUP!

We had a nice chat with one of the ladies that worked there, asking for a recommendation on where to find the best BBQ in town.  Well, she informed us there were a lot of places, but she didn’t eat pork or beef (?????  what kind of suth’ner doesn’t eat the staples?), she couldn’t actually give a personal recommendation.  However, there was a place that “President Bill Clinton ate when he was visiting down here”, so we thought we’d try it.  Sadly, they only had the drive in open, and neither of us were particularly interested in munching BBQ sitting in the car.

When trying to get out of the drive, I turned right, instead of left, and there it was!  A Lebanese restaurant!  Well, being brought up in a house where Lebanese food was the norm, we decided to give it a shot.  I am SO glad we did.  It was pretty tasty!  Actually, my kibbee is better, but their grape leaves were just as good, if not better than my mom’s.  Sorry mom.  Just being honest here.  The cabbage rolls were fairly good too, but they were out of tabouli.  How can ya be out of tabouli???  sigh…  Oh well, if we ever go back to Clarksdale, maybe they’ll have it then?  One can only hope.

Now, we are back at the hotel, trying to digest.  Heh.
