No Morning Coffee!
The Mr doesn’t think I can manage not to sit at my computer for a minimum of two hours every morning, so I’m going to prove him wrong. We slept late, so I’ve only been hunting ‘toons for less than an hour. We’re still going to miss breakfast though. No biggie. Not hungry. Well, I’m not. No doubt he is. Heh.
Our plan was to drive south about an hour, to go see the Delta Blues Museum. Not sure we’re still going to do that though. We THOUGHT it was suppose to be warmer today. Neither of us had enough sense to bring a heavy coat. This is Mississippi after all. That’s what we get for thinking. Had a little snowfall yesterday, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to be all that much warmer. But hey, the sun is out for a change, so who knows. We might get lucky.
So, on that note. It’s past time for me to get it in gear, don’cha think?

….and even if ya aren’t…..we took a drive down to Tunica. Why? Well, seriously, think about it! Why would we want to escape the 24/7 nonstop, love fest? DUH!
No, we aren’t winning, but then again, we never do. No biggie. Funny thing though…..normally, even during the week, this place is packed. Not so this time. I don’t think it’s cuz of the economy either, although, after that nose dive the DOW took today, who knows.

Icy depiction of Al Gore unveiled by critic in Alaska
A critic of global warming is responsible for the icy glare Al Gore is giving this Alaskan community.
Local businessman Craig Compeau on Monday unveiled an ice sculpture of the 2007 Nobel Prize winner and leader in the movement to draw attention to climate change and global warming.
The 8 1/2-foot-tall, 5-ton bust of the former vice president dominates a downtown street corner from its perch on the back of a flatbed truck.
Compeau says he’s a “moderate” critic of global warming theories. He used the unveiling of the sculpture to invite Gore to Fairbanks to explain his global warming theories.
He says it will stand through March unless it melts before then. It was 22 degrees on Monday.

Bush leaves note for Obama in Oval Office
Continuing a White House ritual, President George W. Bush left a note in the Oval Office for President-elect Barack Obama, wishing him well as he takes the reins of the executive branch.
The White House today declined to provide intimate details of the message the two-term Republican left for the incoming Democrat, saying only that Bush wrote it on Monday and left it in the top drawer of his desk.
Say what you will about Bush, he is a class act. Hey, at least the staff didn’t trash the place, and remove all the “H”s from the keyboards.
UN: Hundreds of Millions Needed for Gaza Aid
Hundreds of millions of dollars in humanitarian aid will be needed immediately to help Gaza’s 1.4 million people and billions of dollars will be required to rebuild its shattered buildings and infrastructure, the U.N. humanitarian chief said Monday.
As far as I’m concerned, the Useless Numnuts can pull those millions out of their hind ends. The aid will be stolen, like it has in the past, and used to buy weapons. Very little would be used for aid to the actual PEOPLE….other than to get them killed in the future.
Hamas Breaks Truce, Fires on IDF; Rocket Warning at Kibbutz
Hamas broke its own ceasefire Tuesday afternoon with two rifle attacks on soldiers at the Gaza separation barrier and in central Gaza, less than 48 hours after the terrorist organization announced it would hold fire on condition that Israel withdraw all troops from the Gaza region within seven days.
None of the soldiers were wounded, and they returned fire at the sources of the attack, south of the Kissufim crossing and near Khan Yunis, close to the destroyed Jewish communities of Gush Katif.
Does anyone seriously expect that those murderous thugs would keep their word….about ANYTHING? Remember, it’s ok for a Muslim to lie for his own gains, as long as he’s not lying to another Muslim. They don’t even consider Israelis human.
British Muslims ‘went on reconnaissance’ for July 7 attacks
Three men have gone on trial for a second time, accused of carrying out a “reconnaissance” mission for the 7/7 bombings on London.
Waheed Ali, 25, Sadeer Saleem, 28, and Mohammed Shakil, 32, visited locations that bore a “clear correlation” with the suicide attacks that killed 52 innocent people on July 7, 2005, Kingston Crown Court was told.
All three men, from Beeston, Leeds, deny conspiring to cause explosions. Mr Ali and Mr Shakil also deny a charge of conspiring to attend a terrorist training camp in March 2007.
Did anyone expect them to say, “Well, yeah. Of course we did it!” I really hope everyone who was involved burn in whatever hell is reserved for Muslims.
Roadblock thrown in way of Clinton’s confirmation
Reid spokesman Jim Manley said Republican John Cornyn of Texas has indicated he will block a move to confirm Clinton by an unanimous floor vote later in the day.
But Manley also said there would be a roll call vote Wednesday. And he predicted that “she will receive overwhelming bipartisan support” at that time.
The Senate does plan to confirm several of President-elect Barack Obama’s Cabinet by unanimous vote later Tuesday.
Go Cornyn! 
I’m really surprised all of the Senate is not going to be worshiping at the alter of The ONE all week. Hmm…

I was going to post something about Martin Luther King, Jr, just because of his contributions to our country. Well, as I was snooping, I came across something that really made me stop and think….whoa….wait a minute…..who was this guy really?? Michael King?
Just a few snippets:
Born in 1929, King was the son of a Black preacher known at the time only as “Daddy King.” “Daddy King” named his son Michael. In 1935, “Daddy King” had an inspiration to name himself after the Protestant reformer Martin Luther. He declared to his congregation that henceforth they were to refer to him as “Martin Luther King” and to his son as “Martin Luther King, Jr.” None of this name changing was ever legalized in court. “Daddy” King’s son’s real name is to this day Michael King.

The first public sermon that King ever gave, in 1947 at the Ebenezer Baptist Church, was plagiarized from a homily by Protestant clergyman Harry Emerson Fosdick entitled “Life is What You Make It,” according to the testimony of King’s best friend of that time, Reverend Larry H. Williams.

On Labor Day, 1957, a special meeting was attended by Martin Luther King and four others at a strange institution called the Highlander Folk School in Monteagle, Tennessee. The Highlander Folk School was a Communist front, having been founded by Myles Horton (Communist Party organizer for Tennessee) and Don West (Communist Party organizer for North Carolina). The leaders of this meeting with King were the aforementioned Horton and West, along with Abner Berry and James Dumbrowski, all open and acknowledged members of the Communist Party, USA. The agenda of the meeting was a plan to tour the Southern states to initiate demonstrations and riots.

Lest you be tempted to believe the controlled media’s lie about “racists” in the FBI being out to “get” King, you should be aware that the man most responsible for the FBI’s probe of King was Assistant Director William C. Sullivan. Sullivan describes himself as a liberal, and says that initially “I was one hundred per cent for King…because I saw him as an effective and badly needed leader for the Black people in their desire for civil rights.” The probe of King not only confirmed their suspicions about King’s Communist beliefs and associations, but it also revealed King to be a despicable hypocrite, an immoral degenerate, and a worthless charlatan.
So, seriously, who was this man who gets his own national holiday when honored presidents have their days taken away, and replaced with a free for all? Who was the man who said: I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.
Was he really someone who should be honored, or was he a man, flawed, like so many others? Should we be giving him a day to remember his accomplishments, or should we even honor him at all?
Seriously, I don’t know anymore.
