Government does NOT create jobs.  Jobs are created by businesses, meeting the needs of the consumers.

    And if the consumers have no money to buy the products/services offered by the business, the business lays off more people and the economy gets worse. Then what?

    Well, the rate things are going now, we’ll have no choice but to go back to the barter system.

    Or, we could create “busy work” as I’ve heard it called, give the people jobs, let them earn money that they will in turn use to buy products and services from the staggering businesses, who in turn hire more people to produce more products and services, who take their paychecks to buy more…

    Get the point?

    “Busy work” is what helped prolong the Great Depression.

    Ya know, Kate, I’ve got one of those page a day calendars, this one being about all of the variations of Murphy’s Law.

    There was one that read, “If you consult enough experts, you can confirm any theory.”

    I think that’s where we’re headed with this.
