Actually, the politicians are rarely in town on Friday either. Someone should check the legislative schedule if they intend to get their attention. This time it was a federal issue though so it didn't really matter if the state legislators are around. HOWEVER, with that new income tax bill we'll want them to be around to hear the horn honking.

Heh. Ken is definitely the OLD!

I hear there are folks complaining about events being planned for a weekday. Well, if they hold them on the weekends, who is going to be downtown to actually be aware? Don't politicians go home on the weekends? I mean really. sheesh....

Thanks for linking me from 'acquaintances' and not 'old'. :-) I'm sorry we didn't get some more time to talk. I was wearing the slipperiest shoes on the planet and couldn't move about without fear of falling on that slick concrete. Hopefully, we'll get to visit more soon.

The event was great. Quick and to the point. Folks could do this on their lunch hour and still make it back to their downtown office with time to spare. Thanks to folks like you that came from a distance. It's important for those of us who live in the capitol to participate since we are close and it's hardly a hardship. It's very encouraging to have folks come, spend the night and participate.

[...] I have certainly been a supporter of a nationwide Chicago Tea Party and I applaud the efforts of those who took to the streets yesterday in cities across America to take a stand against the emerging Obama Nation. When the American Future Fund began promoting the concept of making Rick Santelli’s call for a Chicago Tea Party in July, I was one of the first to sign up. I even started the Memphis Tea Party website to use as an organizational tool locally. Unfortunately, in their excitement, many opted to push the concept prematurely yesterday, Friday the 27th.
