Sammy Takes On An Obama Appointee

Big national intelligence misstep
A free man or a mole for the royal House of Saud?
Sammy Benoit (aka YID with LID)

Ambassador Charles W. “Chas” Freeman Jr.’s nomination as chairman of the National Intelligence Council (NIC) has quickly become the Obama administration’s most controversial appointment to date.

Mr. Freeman’s two post-government activities involved being a de facto employee of Saudi Arabia. In exchange, he received lavish support for his Middle East Policy Center (MEPC) and lucrative contracts for the consulting firm he founded to guide international companies into finding royal family-connected partners within the Saudi elite. This raises the reasonable questions as to whether Ambassador Freeman acted as an unregistered Saudi agent. This role has created significant concern about his impartiality as chief U.S. intelligence analyst on matters that will clearly involve Saudi views and interests.

Obama’s Foreign Aid Price Tag to Exceed $50 Billion

President Obama’s 2010 budget seeks to double U.S. aid payments to other countries despite a $1.75 trillion deficit and the worst recession in over a quarter of a century.

Obama’s landmark proposal heralds a massive increase in the size of government, and “puts the United States on a path to double U.S. foreign assistance,” according to the White House budget overview.

That would mean annual U.S. foreign assistance expenditures at over $50 billion a year, although it’s not clear yet how quickly Obama intends to attain that goal.

Not clear? He plans on making US work to support other countries, all the while, working hard to keep our own heads above water. We’re drowning and he’s playing the benevolent ONE.

Mr. Obama, for the sake of YOUR grandchildren, if you don’t think they would be a “mistake”, remove thy arrogant head from thy ass, and smell the REAL coffee…..not that bullsh*t your ego has been feeding you!

City still has money for PR

The Daley administration has signed another $5 million public relations contract — bringing the citywide total to 11 firms and $55 million — to augment the highly controlled message coming out of City Hall.

Mayoral press secretary Jacquelyn Heard insisted last fall that not a penny would be paid to outside spin doctors until Chicago’s budget crisis is over.

Considering this is Chicago, and giving one’s word means squat, what did they expect? Honesty? Integrity? Scruples? I mean seriously now, how can anyone believe a word that comes out of a Chicago politician’s mouth? They don’t have that reputation of being dirty cuz they give a happy crap, y’know.

Lawmakers Take First Whack at Obama Budget Plan

President Barack Obama’s proposed tax increases are being met with misgivings by both Republicans and Democrats in Congress as he sends his treasury secretary to Capitol Hill to defend them.

Lawmakers in both parties question Obama’s call to reduce high-income earners’ tax deductions for the interest on their house payments and for charitable contributions. Also drawing fire is his proposal to start taxing industries on their greenhouse gas pollution — a move sure to raise consumers’ electric rates.

Considering the current economic mess, I would have to say The ONE is totally incompetent, a raving lunatic, or completely oblivious. Probably all three.

Grocery stores may add wine to their shelves

A bill that would allow the sale of wine in grocery stores has resulted in an unlikely pairing of organizations that oppose the measure: the Tennessee Wine and Spirits Retailers Association and the Tennessee Baptist Convention.

The Tennessee Baptist Convention opposes the bill because Southern Baptists disapprove of the consumption of alcohol and the increased accessibility to alcohol the measure would bring, said James Porch, executive director of the organization.

While I am a Southern Baptist (love my church and pastor), I still don’t understand this obsession with alcohol. If we are going to be Bible based, and Jesus drank wine, then what’s the problem? :? The grocery stores already sell beer, just not on Sunday, so would having wine on the shelves be any different? I think the TBC should concentrate more on getting the porn shops and drug dealers shut down, rather than obsess over the wine on the grocery shelf. Besides, on the rare occasion I do some fancy cooking, I use wine in the recipe. And NO, I don’t drink it while I’m cooking! :P   Besides, it’s drunkenness, not the wine itself that is prohibited.

3 charged with hate crime

Lawrence Henry Lewis III, 20, Lawrneil Henry Lewis, 18, and Alejandro Sam Gray, 17, all of Galveston, each faced two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon with the enhancement of a hate crime, said Lt. D.J. Alvarez, a Galveston police spokesman. He said their bonds had been set at $120,000 each. It was not immediately known whether the trio has attorneys.

While there is no doubt in my mind these sleeze balls need to do some serious time, I take issue with the “hate crime” nonsense. If you are throwing rocks, at ANYONE, it’s quite obvious you don’t much care for the target. I take issue with the increased charges. No one should behave in such a manner towards another human being. Ever. Creating more dissension with such laws? Well, if I throw a rock as my sister, is that any different from throwing a rock at a complete stranger who happens to be black, gay…whatever? It means I intend bodily harm, and should be punished for such.  As with all laws, there is abuse with this type, but it has opened up all kinds of unintended consequences.  Or perhaps, that was the whole idea?

Italy: War with Iran would be a ‘catastrophe’ says minister

Italian foreign minister Franco Frattini said on Tuesday that a war with Iran would be a “catastrophe” for the whole world. “Iran is not Iraq, it is better armed and equipped and its stance worries not only Europeans, but their Arab neighbours,” said Frattini.

What a freakin’ wuss! No kidding. War’s are always a catastrophe ya moron! But evidently, in his mind, it is much better to appease the Iranians than to stand up to them….which should have been done a WHOLE long time ago. Now, yes….it’s going to be a catastrophe on a major scale that could have been prevented.

Police hunt gunmen after attack on Sri Lankan cricket team

Police in Lahore have launched an intensive search for at least 12 gunmen believed to be responsible for Tuesday’s deadly attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team which left six security personnel dead and eight players hurt — including two with gunshot wounds.

The Sri Lankan players were traveling by bus to the city’s Gaddafi Stadium for the third day of the second test match against Pakistan at around 9 a.m. local time (11 p.m. ET) when the attack occurred.

Video footage showed several gunmen with automatic weapons firing on the convoy from a roundabout, Liberty Square, close to the stadium

What do these animals think they gain by attacking a bloomin’ sports team?

Israel Suspends Retaliation to Rocket Attacks, Turns to UN

The Olmert administration has changed its tactics. Instead of authorizing the IDF to continue immediate military retaliation to Hamas rocket attacks, it has complained to the United Nations. A protest was filed with the U.N. following the latest rocket attack that exploded immediately south of Ashkelon, shortly before midnight Monday.

Is he freakin’ kidding????? The Useless Numnuts?? What does he think they are going to do? Something different than they’ve done for the last 60 years? Highly unlikely, considering the UN is run by a bunch a terrorist suck ups!

Chavez Seizes Rice Plants in Venezuela

Venezuelan troops began taking control of the country’s rice processing plants, after President Hugo Chávez threatened to expropriate companies that continue to flout government regulations. Venezuela’s Polar and the U.S.’s Cargill are among the two largest rice processors in the country.

“Some companies are refusing to follow the government’s rules,” the president said on state television on Saturday. “I’ve ordered the immediate intervention in those industries and I ask for the people’s support to deepen the revolution.”

Translation: I want the profits for myself, screw all of you!  I’m highly suspicious of any company that continues to do business in such a country as Venezuela.  I realize that companies are suppose to make a profit, but associating with scum like Chavez and expecting him to follow the rules is fairly foolish.

Bernanke sees ‘solid gains’ from aid programs

Appearing before the Senate Budget Committee, Bernanke said the near-term economic outlook remains troubling but that the various stimulus efforts and moves to stabilize the financial system will eventually help lift activity.

“Although the near-term outlook for the economy is weak, over time, a number of factors should promote the return of solid gains in economic activity in the context of low and stable inflation,” he said in his prepared remarks.

Bernanke said there was still considerable uncertainty about the recovery from the deep recession that began in December 2007 and has been intensifying, but pledged to continue efforts to break a credit crunch.

Well, until I see proof, I’m not going to believe a single word that comes from any of those yahoos. If we could get them to stop tinkering, perhaps we’d see some indication recovery is in sight. What I’m seeing is a bunch of morons throwing gasoline on the fire.  Folks could be learning some hard learned lessons, instead of expecting the gubmint to ‘bail’ them out.  It’s a shame, really. The hard reality is that nothing, and no one, is too big to fail.
