A Serious Apology

25 March 2009, 7:48 pm. 30 Comments. Filed under Blog Stuff.

I owe Chris, and Fred, an apology.

Chris has been a great friend, and has put up with a lot after taking over a good chunk of the blogging here at Ol’ Broad’s since I semi-retired.  One of the many reason I cut way back (contrary to evidence) is for health reasons, which I don’t much care to share right now.  If it weren’t for Chris, I might have totally lost it by now, more so than I already have.  Being female, she occasionally gets a tad hormonal.  Why do you think I don’t feel real strong about women being POTUS?  :P

Fred came to my defense, and Fred, being Fred, spoke his mind.  I respect his opinions, and appreciate his thoughts on all manner of subjects.  He’s a smart man who does not put up with any crap.  He doesn’t back down from a fight, and will stand his grand.  I wish I could be as strong as he is, in some areas, and wish, only occasionally, folks could see his gentle side.  He does have one, you know.  :)   Otherwise, Mrs Fred would have probably put him six feet under a long time ago.

And I also owe an apology for my behavior today.  I don’t normally go off on moonbat.  Typically, I’m rather reasonable, or just flat out ignore such idiocy.  It’s been a bad day, but that’s no excuse for my language, which is NOT like me at all.

Get Angry!

25 March 2009, 12:33 pm. 33 Comments. Filed under Pond Scum, Religion of Pieces, The ONE, War on Terror.

There were many on the left who did nothing but pound Bush, day in, day out.  He can’t pronounce this, or that, comparing him to a chimp, he stole the election, ad nauseum, but will no one on that side of the political spectrum call out B. Hussein for his total disregard for his complete lack of competency?  There was no ‘coming together’, for the sake of the safety and security of our nation.  Yet now, we are suppose to sit back and call that pretender Mr. President?  Did he NOT take an oath “to protect and defend”?  At every turn, we see him, and his lackeys, going out of their way to see the complete and utter destruction of this nation.

From Texas Fred’s:

People like Obama, and those that support him, are more concerned with TRUTH TELLERS like me and thousands of other Conservative bloggers. They are so concerned that they have labeled us as Domestic Terrorists. Obama and Company don’t have the guts to call the enemies of this nation TERRORISTS, they don’t have the guts to call our efforts against these enemies a WAR on TERROR, but they have the audacity to cal me and people like me Domestic Terrorists.

Go, read all of Fred’s post!

For speaking out, for a bumper sticker, for a t-shirt, WE are considered ‘terrorists’.  But those who would bring down buildings, murdering thousands, are not?  Excuse me?

Here is a clue BO…..it IS a WAR on TERROR.  I, for one, will not call it anything else.

Another Concealed Carry Success

25 March 2009, 9:20 am. 5 Comments. Filed under 2nd Amendment, Chris From Racine, Crime.

It is proven once again that concealed carry works.

An afternoon shootout at a busy Burger King restaurant in Miami left a potential robber dead and the customer who shot him seriously wounded.

The bloody event unfolded about 4 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant at Northeast 54th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. It was a time, employees said, when it is usually crowded with schoolchildren and people getting out of work early.

The robber entered wearing a ski mask. He approached a clerk, showed his gun and demanded money, said Miami police spokesman Jeff Giordano.

A customer eyed him and the two started arguing. The customer had a concealed-weapons permit and his gun — and the two exchanged gunfire.

The robber crumpled to the floor and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The customer, with several gunshot wounds, was in serious but stable condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.

Now here in Wisconsin, we have a ban on concealed carry, therefore, the only people who are carrying are the criminals.  It is my contention that if we had concealed carry, those thugs may think twice about who they rob at any given time, not knowing who may be carrying a weapon.  I do not, nor have I ever believed, that allowing concealed carry will lead to MORE violence…I believe the opposite to be true.

EU: Obama Plans A Way to Hell

25 March 2009, 8:40 am. Comments Off. Filed under Chris From Racine, Economy, The ONE.

Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek, whose country currently holds the EU presidency, told the European Parliament that President Barack Obama’s massive stimulus package and banking bailout “will undermine the stability of the global financial market.”

Most European leaders favor tighter financial regulation, while the U.S. has been pushing for larger economic stimulus plans.

Topolanek’s comments are the strongest criticism so far from a European leader as the 27-nation bloc bristles from recent U.S. criticism that it is not spending enough to stimulate demand.

They also pave the way for a stormy summit next week in London between leaders of the Group of 20 industrialized countries.

He slammed the U.S.’ widening budget deficit and protectionist trade measures — such as the “Buy America” — and said that “all of these steps, these combinations and permanency is the way to hell.”

“We need to read the history books and the lessons of history and the biggest success of the (EU) is the refusal to go this way,” he said.

“Americans will need liquidity to finance all their measures and they will balance this with the sale of their bonds but this will undermine the stability of the global financial market,” said Topolanek.

Obama insisted Tuesday that his massive budget proposal is moving the nation down the right path and will help the ailing economy grow again. “This budget is inseparable from this recovery,” he said, “because it is what lays the foundation for a secure and lasting prosperity.”

Obama also claimed early progress in his aggressive campaign to lead the United States out of its worst economic crisis in 70 years and declared that despite obstacles ahead, the U.S. is “moving in the right direction.”

A way to hell?  We’re already there.
