An Ol’ Broad’s Ramblings
One Nation, UNDER GOD!

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG,
OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA,
AND TO THE REPUBLIC FOR WHICH IT STANDS,
ONE NATION UNDER GOD,
INDIVISIBLE, WITH LIBERTY AND JUSTICE FOR ALL!
I was asked to send on if I agree, or delete if I don’t.
It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God.
Therefore I have a very hard time understanding why there is such a problem in having ‘ In God! We Trust ‘ on our money and having ‘ God ‘ in the Pledge of Allegiance.
I believe it ’s time we stand up for what we believe!

should 14% of the population have to suffer for the imposing beliefs of the populous?
Should 86% of the population have to suffer for the non-beliefs of the 14%…particularly when these are beliefs that this country was founded on?
actually, this country was founded on the belief that people are free to choose their own religion and not have the religions of others forced down their throats.
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
that statement is so important that they even made it the first amendment.
our founding fathers were christian, but they founded america to show the world that we may co-exist no matter what our religions beliefs or superstition may be without criticism. saying that this nation belongs to that of the christian god is sacrilegious to all other faiths residing within these borders.
by the way. our country was also founded on the separation of church and state…. if it was truly that way, you and i wouldnt be having this discussion.

adsv, do you really have that little to say, that you simply type out the pledge of allegiance? your argument is hereby void…
Chris from Racine, one thing i didnt add to my last comment is that the 86% of Americans who do believe in god would not be suffering if in god we trust was taken off of our currency and out of our pledge. they would simply be equal with all other religions. where as pledging to a god you dont believe in is sacreligious. no ones asking you to praise allah. and if you were told it was part of the pledge you wouldnt say it, because you believe in a different god… so put the shoe on the other foot.
