STOP! ENOUGH!

For the love of all that’s holy…..KNOCK IT OFF!  This is getting beyond absurd.  It’s dangerous, destructive, and completely unconscionable!

Democrats Unveil Global Warming Bill

The debate on global warming and energy policy accelerated on Tuesday as two senior House Democrats unveiled a far-reaching bill to cap heat-trapping gases and quicken the country’s move away from dependence on coal and oil.

But the bill leaves critical questions unanswered and has no Republican support. It is thus the beginning, not the end, of the debate in Congress on how to deal with two of President Obama’s top priorities, climate change and energy.

This bill should have NO support at all! NONE! ZIP! ZERO! ZILCH! Why on earth would anyone believe we have ANY control over the climate? Do they really believe they are gods, and BO is actually a messiah?  NEITHER is true!

If….and that’s a big IF, there is a viable alternative to coal and oil, I’ll be all for pursuing that avenue.  We haven’t built a new refinery since the 70s.  And what about nuclear?  When was the last time we built one of those?  No, we have raving lunatics in charge of the asylum, who insist on forcing people to buy things they don’t want, punish them for purchasing what they do want, and go skipping down the Yellow Brick Road, singing la la la la with their fingers in their ears.  “WE know what’s best, and YOU will pay!”

ENOUGH!

Common sense is no longer a requirement for serving in any capacity in Washington, D.C.  I suppose if we’re honest with ourselves, there has been NONE for a very long time.

Nope – No War On Terror Here

31 March 2009, 10:15 am. Comments Off. Filed under Chris From Racine, Crime, Feckless Weasels, War on Terror.

While those in the administration are no longer using the phrase “War on Terror”, instead calling it the “Overseas Contingency Operation”, let’s take a look at what the commander of the Pakistani Taliban has to say

The commander of the Pakistani Taliban claimed responsibility Tuesday for a deadly assault on a Pakistani police academy and said the group was planning a terrorist attack on the U.S. capital.

Baitullah Mehsud, who has a $5 million bounty on his head from the U.S., said Monday’s attack outside the eastern city of Lahore was in retaliation for U.S. missile strikes against militants along the Afghan border.

“Soon we will launch an attack in Washington that will amaze everyone in the world,” Mehsud told The Associated Press by phone. He provided no details.

“At this time, I will not give any detail,” Mehsud said.

The Pakistani Taliban leader also said he was not deterred by the U.S. bounty on his head.

“I wish to die and embrace martyrdom,” he said.

Do they really think by giving the WAR ON TERROR a nice fuzzy name, the terrorism will stop?  All that will do, in my opinion, is let the TERRORISTS know that this country is getting soft.

I gotta tell you, with these PC nuts in charge, I fear for our future.  When will the powers that be get their heads out of their collective a$$es and realize that there is NO negotiating with people who, quite simply, want us dead?

Did The MSM Ignore This?

I don’t remember ever hearing about it. After some searching, I found an article in The New Yorker, dated June 26, 2007.

Tsereteli’s inspiration came, he says, on September 11, 2001. “I saw the people gathered around the American Embassy,” he said recently from Moscow. “The tear that came out of my eye and fell, that gave me the idea for the monument.” Tsereteli, who is seventy-three and bogglingly prolific, flew to New York, visited Ground Zero, and decided that it wasn’t the appropriate place for the sculpture. He pitched it to Jersey City, where the mayor loved it.

In case you can’t read the print, it say “Monument to the struggle against world terrorism”, “Artist – Zurab Tsereteli”, with the equivilent in Russian.

Around the base are the names of those murdered, very much like the Vietnam Wall.

Today, a large banner hangs on a warehouse alongside the monument, with portraits of Putin and President George W. Bush facing one another across the battle cry “To the Struggle Against World Terrorism.” Inscribed on the monument’s base are the names of the 9/11 victims, along with the names of those who died in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The base has eleven sides. Nine pathways lead to it. The Tear of Grief is aligned, it is said, with the missing towers, across the water. On a recent sunny afternoon, two men drove up and parked near the monument—a Bayonne resident and his son, home from college. They walked around its base, studying the names. The father pointed at one with his shoe. “See, there’s Noley,” he said. Asked what he thought of the monument, the father looked up, shading his eyes against the ferocious brilliance of the Tear of Grief. “Pretty impressive,” he said.

I’m very curious…why did the MSM ignore this?  It’s a beautiful tribute, and a generous gift.

I Always Did Like Her

I used to be a Law & Order fanatic.  I’ve seen about every episode ever made.  One of my favorite assistant D.A.’s was Angie Harmon’s character, which is why it made me smile when I read this

Angie Harmon is not afraid to come out and say she doesn’t like how President Obama is handling the job — but she’s sick of having to defend herself from being deemed a racist.

“Here’s my problem with this, I’m just going to come out and say it. If I have anything to say against Obama it’s not because I’m a racist, it’s because I don’t like what he’s doing as President and anybody should be able to feel that way, but what I find now is that if you say anything against him you’re called a racist,” Harmon told Tarts at Thursday’s Los Angeles launch of the new eyelash-growing formula, Latisse. “But it has nothing to do with it, I don’t care what color he is. I’m just not crazy about what he’s doing and I heard all about this, and he’s gonna do that and change and change, so okay … I’m still dressing for a recession over here buddy and we’ve got unemployment at an all-time high and that was his number one thing and that’s the thing I really don’t appreciate. If I’m going to disagree with my President, that doesn’t make me a racist. If I was to disagree with W, that doesn’t make me racist. It has nothing to do with it, it is ridiculous.”

Speaking of dislikes, the starlet has also had enough of the double-standards in the media.

“I do think McCain would have done a better job, only because I think he has more experience. I also think if W or John McCain or Reagan would have gone and done a talk show, the backlash would have been so huge and in his face, and ‘What is our president doing? How unclassy!’ But Obama does it and no one says anything,” Harmon said.

Finally, someone from Hollyweird speaks the truth.  This is much of what is being said, but since most of us don’t have the forum that these “stars” have, it’s not being heard.  Yet, if you are on some two-bit TV show, or even, in some cases a serious actor, the world listens.    Which is why, perhaps, that I have lost whatever respect I may have had for these two

The sort of criticism over the last couple of weeks is a bit unfounded, he’s been in office for barely any time and I think he inherited a lot on his plate and he’s doing a pretty remarkable job,” quipped Mandy Moore. “I think it’s cool that he went on Leno and I watched the “60 minutes” interview as well last week. The guy is just so articulate and he is so well versed in something that is so new to him and I think he has a good team around him. It sounds cliché, but he makes me feel proud to be an American.”

Debra Messing also told Tarts that our new President is not only meeting her expectations, but going far beyond.

“He is thoughtful and considerate and he gets all the information before he speaks which I think is a wonderful quality for the ruler of the free world to have,” she explained.

Okay, I never really had respect for them in the first place, but holy mackeral!!  On what planet do they live?  Thoughtful and considerate?  Leader of the free world?  The scary thing about that is that many folks are of that mindset.  On the positive side, however, there are some who have had reality slap them in the face, and are starting to see what is REALLY happening.  And Mandy, you’re right.  He’s been in the office for barely any time…and look at the damage already.
