Welcome to Green Hell, Where You’re All a Bunch of Slaves
by Doug Giles

If you thought the global warming climate clowns were bad before Obama ascended to the throne, you ain’t seen nothing yet with our new chartreuse Commander in Chief. Of course Barack, personally or professionally, won’t go green because it’s too “inconvenient” and way too expensive for his gig, but for us serfs schlepping in Obamaland we will have to worship the turf because, you see, we’re murdering the earth. Quit laughing. This is serious. I said quit laughing. The earth is dying, and it ain’t funny.

Tennessee Representatives

21 March 2009, 8:26 am. 4 Comments. Filed under Opinion, Politics.

I’ve only lived in this state for 2 years now, and there is still much to learn.  One thing I have learned though, which is extremely disappointing, many of the representatives, from local to national, have forgotten that we have a U.S. Constitution.  I’m not real sure why this has happened, not just in TN, but all over the country.  When a person is elected to such a lofty office, don’t they take an oath to uphold the Constitution?  Then why won’t they?  Why do so many forget we are a nation with laws?  Their job is to uphold those laws.

Recently, there has been a bait and switch game going on in Washington over the AIG fiasco and the bonuses.  Congress should look in the mirror when they talk about “squandering money“.  Honestly, I don’t give a flip about $165 million that AIG was contractually obligated to give their employees.  Seriously, that’s a drop in the bucket to the TRILLIONS that Congress has tossed around of OUR money.  Let’s get our eyes back on that game ball.  You know the one…..it has F-R-E-E-D-O-M stamped on the side, and the weasels in D.C. have tossed it around so much, it’s becoming deflated.  THAT is what we should be concerned about, not the paltry sum of $165 mil.

Now, Congress has decided that they should tax those bonuses 90%?  Small example…if your boss gives you a $100 bill for a job well done, and it is in a contract that you signed, do you believe that some moron nestled in a swamp has the right to come along and take $90 of it, leaving you with a 10 dollar bill?  No, I don’t believe that’s the right thing to do at all.  And neither should you!  Instead of removing the beam from their own eyes, our so called representatives are trying to remove the mote from other eyes.

In Tennessee, there are 3 U.S. Representatives who voted FOR the unconstitutional bill to tax those bonuses:

Rep. John Duncan (R-TN-2)
Rep. Phil Roe (R-TN-1)
Rep. Zach Wamp (R-TN-3)

One of these gentlemen has decided he wants to be the next governor of our state.  Rep. Zach Wamp has been going from one end of the state to the other, hoping to be the Republican candidate in 2010.  He seems to be picking up momentum.  However, I’m afraid I couldn’t support a man, or woman, for governor who seems never to have read the document they were originally elected to uphold.

Now, call me crazy, but I think it would be a real good idea if anyone who even considers running for office, take a few classes on the Constitution.  One requirement, READ the document!  You will be tested, and if you can’t pass the test, you will NOT be eligible to throw your hat in the ring.  If you pass the test, and by some chance, you win the election, you will be required to take a refresher course every six months, just in case you aren’t capable of remember the finer points of the document, like those first 10 Amendments, for example.  If, perchance, you are incapable of remembering, and foolishly vote FOR something that violates said document, you will be asked, and expected, to resign.  I would also make this requirement retroactive to include every single member of Congress that is presently serving, each and every Cabinet appointee, AND the President of the United States!

Let the Indoctrination Begin

19 March 2009, 1:22 pm. 14 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Dhimmicrats, Education, Feckless Weasels, Politics.

Now this is scary…

The House passed a bill yesterday which includes disturbing language indicating young people will be forced to undertake mandatory national service programs as fears about President Barack Obama’s promised “civilian national security force” intensify.

The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act, known as the GIVE Act, was passed yesterday by a 321-105 margin and now goes to the Senate.

Under section 6104 of the bill, entitled “Duties,” in subsection B6, the legislation states that a commission will be set up to investigate, “Whether a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people could be developed, and how such a requirement could be implemented in a manner that would strengthen the social fabric of the Nation and overcome civic challenges by bringing together people from diverse economic, ethnic, and educational backgrounds.”

Section 120 of the bill also discusses the “Youth Engagement Zone Program” and states that “service learning” will be “a mandatory part of the curriculum in all of the secondary schools served by the local educational agency.”

“The legislation, slated to cost $6 billion over five years, would create 175,000 “new service opportunities” under AmeriCorps, bringing the number of participants in the national volunteer program to 250,000. It would also create additional “corps” to expand the reach of volunteerism into new sectors, including a Clean Energy Corps, Education Corps, Healthy Futures Corps and Veterans Service Corps, and it expands the National Civilian Community Corps to focus on additional areas like disaster relief and energy conservation,” reports Fox News.

The title itself is misleading:  The Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act.  Let’s see, according to Webster, voluntary is defined as

1 : proceeding from the will or from one’s own choice or consent 2 : unconstrained by interference : self-determining 3 : done by design or intention : intentional <voluntary manslaughter> 4 : of, relating to, subject to, or regulated by the will <voluntary behavior> 5 : having power of free choice 6 : provided or supported by voluntary action <a voluntary organization> 7 : acting or done of one’s own free will without valuable consideration or legal obligation

Now then, according to the language in the bill, this “service” would be mandatory.  And what does Webster have to say about that?

1 : containing or constituting a command : obligatory <the mandatory retirement age>

According to the Fox News story, opponents are calling it expensive indoctrination and forced advocacy.  I tend to agree.  What other reason would there be for mandatory volunteerism than to force liberal ideology down the throats of these kids?  Clean Energy Corps?  Healthy Futures Corps?  Why is it when I read about this,

comes to mind?

Holy Space Shuttle Batman!

18 March 2009, 8:34 pm. 10 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Chuckles, Critters, Stuff.

Poor thing:

A small bat that was spotted blasting off with the space shuttle Sunday and clinging to the back side of Discovery’s external fuel tank apparently held on throughout the launch.NASA hoped the bat would fly away before the spacecraft’s Sunday evening liftoff, but photos from the launch now show the bat holding on for dear life throughout the fiery ride.

“He did change the direction he was pointing from time to time throughout countdown but ultimately never flew away,” states a NASA memo obtained by SPACE.com. “Infrared imagery shows he was alive and not frozen like many would think … Liftoff imagery analysis confirmed that he held on until at least the vehicle cleared [the] tower before we lost sight of him.”

Cool!!  We’re the first to send a bat into space!!

“The bat eventually became ‘Interim Problem Report 119V-0080′ after the ICE team finished their walkdown,” the memo said. “Systems Engineering and Integration performed a debris analysis on him and ultimately a Launch Commit Criteria waiver to ICE-01 was written to accept the stowaway.”

Well, I”m certainly glad they accepted the stowaway…might have been a tad bit difficult to do something about it!

“Based on images and video, a wildlife expert who provides support to the center said the small creature was a free tail bat that likely had a broken left wing and some problem with its right shoulder or wrist,” NASA officials said Tuesday. “The animal likely perished quickly during Discovery’s climb into orbit.”

I’m taking bets now – how long until PETA rears its ugly head?

Outrage Update – Dems Fuming

18 March 2009, 3:10 pm. 1 Comment. Filed under Chris From Racine, Dhimmicrats, Health Care, Heroes, U.S. Military, Veterans.

It appears that the idea of veterans using private insurance to pay for their care has even the dems fuming in Washington.

Democrats in Congress are organizing to squash a White House proposal that would require veterans to use private insurance to pay for treatment of their combat and service-related injuries.

In a letter being sent to the White House, a group of House Democrats, led by Rep. Glenn Nye (D-VA), warned that such a proposal “could harm our veterans and their families in unintended, yet very serious ways, jeopardizing their families’ health care and even negatively affecting veterans’ employment opportunities.”

“While we strongly support your plans to increase funding for the VA by $25 billion over the next five years,” the letter reads, “it is with equal conviction that we oppose the proposal to bill veterans’ private health insurance plans for care and treatment of service-connected injuries or disabilities.”

Rep. Ann Kirkpatrick (D-Ariz.) is leading a similar effort in coordination with Nye. Her letter is even more forcefully worded, calling the White House proposal “deeply troubling” and charging that it “ignores the mission of the VA.”

“We cannot compromise on the promise we have made to those who serve our Nation,” Kirkpatrick states.

Read the rest, along with the full letter here.

This was a slap in the face to every brave man and woman who has ever served this country, as well as a slap in the face to their families.  I’m glad, at least on this issue, common sense may prevail.

Mack Calls for Geithner to Resign

18 March 2009, 12:40 pm. 6 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Dhimmicrats, Economy, Feckless Weasels, Politics.

Well, it looks like the “stuff” is starting to hit the fan.

Florida Republican Rep. Connie Mack called for Treasury Sec. Tim Geithner to lose his job Wednesday, becoming the first Capitol Hill lawmakers to call for his ouster over AIG’s using tens of millions of taxpayer dollars for executive bonuses.

“Quite simply, the Timothy Geithner experience has been a disaster. The Treasury Department is in disarray. Taxpayer dollars are being wasted. America’s economy hangs in the balance. America needs and deserves a treasury secretary who can truly lead us forward,” Mack said in a written statement.

He called on Geithner, the former New York Federal Reserve chief, either to resign or be fired, and said President Obama should nominate a new secretary with “the experience and leadership skills America deserves.”

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Tuesday that Obama has “complete confidence” in Geithner, as lawmakers began to question why the Treasury Department didn’t do more to prevent American International Group from paying $165 million in bonuses even after receiving more than $170 billion in federal bailout money.

Though the administration claims Geithner found out about the bonuses only last Tuesday, Mack suggested he was more involved.

“Before Timothy Geithner became secretary of the Treasury, he was working hand-in-hand with AIG and other financial institutions to provide them hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer money as one of the key architects of the financial sector bailout,” he said. “I’ve had serious concerns about Secretary Geithner from the moment he was nominated. In the months since, he has shown us time and again why he was the wrong choice for this critical post.”

Geithner faced criticism during his nomination over personal tax problems but ultimately won confirmation.

He is absolutely the wrong choice.  First and foremost, I never understood how a known tax cheat was able to be confirmed as the secretary of the Treasury.  If any one of us had pulled with Geithner pulled, we would be looking at criminal charges, yet he’s in charge of our treasury?  Seriously?

Secondly, this man has shown that he has no clue what he’s doing.  His statements are bumbling and incoherent.  In fact, each time he speaks, the market takes a dive.

Finally, how can he dare feign outrage over the bonuses when he was one of the architects of this whole bailout business?  Does the government seriously think that the American people are that gullible?  Just because The One has confidence in him, so should we?

I’ll say this again; this administration is proving time and time again how inexperienced they are.  The problem here is that their inexperience is going to cost the American people, their children and their grandchildren dearly, most likely in more ways than one.

Disgraceful!!!

Speaker Pelosi is at it again… this woman seriously needs to be muzzled…

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi recently told a group of both legal and illegal immigrants and their families that enforcement of existing immigration laws, as currently practiced, is “un-American.”

The speaker, condemning raids by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, referred to the immigrants she was addressing as “very, very patriotic.”

I’m sorry, but if they’re so “patriotic”, why did they not come into the U.S. through the front door?

We think that families are the cornerstone of our society and our nation, and an immigration system should preserve those families, not destroy them,” Gutierrez told FOX News Capitol Hill Producer Chad Pergram on Tuesday.

The congressman is collecting petitions that ask President Obama to “stop the immigration raids and deportations that are tearing our marriages, families and children apart.” He is expected to present those petitions when Hispanic members of Congress meet with the President Wednesday.

You know what?  If they don’t want their families torn apart, STOP entering this country ILLEGALLY!!!

On Saturday night, Pelosi joined Gutierrez before a cheering crowd at St. Anthony’s chanting, “Si se puede,” or “Yes we can.”

How embarrassing.

Referring to work site enforcement actions by ICE agents, Pelosi said, “We have to have a change in policy and practice and again … I can’t say enough, the raids must end. The raids must end.

“You are special people. You’re here on a Saturday night to take responsibility for our country’s future. That makes you very, very patriotic.”

“I was embarrassed by what she said,” said Rick Oltman, with Californians for Population Stabilization, an anti-illegal immigrant group. “Exhorting illegal aliens for taking responsibility for our country’s future…. In fact, sitting there in the audience…. I really resented that comment.”

“I think it was pandering to the crowd but also insulting to American citizens who consider themselves to be patriotic, who obey the rule of law,” said Oltman, who shot a video of the rally.

Amen!  That’s the whole point here -the rule of law.  When will people realize that these people are committing a crime by the very action of entering this country illegally?  To be perfectly clear, I have absolutely NO issues with LEGAL immigrants.  They came here for a better life, and did so by following the laws of this land.  My issue is with the millions who think they can come into this country illegally, and have the same rights and get the same government handouts as the citizens of this country.  To those who come here legally and become citizens…welcome.  To the rest of you…get the HELL out of my country!

Deadly Bacteria in NICU

18 March 2009, 7:33 am. Comments Off. Filed under Chris From Racine, General News, Health Care.

I just can’t understand how this can happen.

MIAMI — The head of a neonatology group in South Florida said Miami Children’s Hospital is cleaning to remove at least two strands of pseudomonas, a deadly and drug-resistant bacteria, from their Neonatal Intensive Care Unit after two babies died at the hospital.

The NICU at Miami Children’s is specifically designed for the care of premature or ill newborn babies.

The doctor, who did not want to be identified, told Local 10′s Rob Schmitt that many children in one area of the ward have been moved to another area of the hospital. He said he had intentions of sending newborn babies to Miami Children’s Hospital’s NICU and decided against it after hearing the news.

The deaths happened sometime in the last few days.

The Miami-Dade County Health Department told Local 10 that the hospital contacted them regarding the deaths. They said the hospital wanted to know if there had been any outbreaks in the community or in other area hospitals that could be responsible for the situation.

The health department, however, said they are unaware of anything that could have contributed to the deaths at Miami Children’s Hospital.

Miami Children’s Hospital released the following statement:

“The hospital extends deepest sympathy to the families of the babies. We have taken all appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of our patients and families. We continue to examine this matter in detail. At this time, the results of our examination are inconclusive. Due to privacy laws we are unable to give specific patient information.”

I’ve gotta tell you, I certainly wouldn’t have much confidence in that statement.  How did the bacteria get in the NICU?  This strikes a chord with me because my Monkey spent nine weeks in the NICU after a premature birth.  There is nothing more vulnerable than a premature baby.  Those places are sterile as sterile can be.  I can attest that every precaution is taken to ensure that NOTHING can get to those babies who are already fighting for their lives.  I only hope that this is investigated until the cause of this breach is discovered.

Prayers to the families who lost their precious children.
