Protect Your Rights!

Health Plan Could Feed Your Gun-related Data Into A National Database

– And charge you $10,000 a year for the privilege

In a year when trillion dollar bailouts have become routine, many Americans have become almost numb to our acceleration towards socialism.

But gun rights activists aren’t in that crowd, and so GOA has to inform you of yet ANOTHER threat to your privacy, the Second Amendment, and even your wallet.

It is called an “individual mandate” or, alternatively, the “Massachusetts plan.” And over the weekend, both the Washington Post and the New York Times worked hard to build momentum for it.

Please!  Go read the rest of this here!

Freedom Is Not Free!

As you might have noticed, I switched out my “signature” Maxine for a different logo over there on the side.  While most thinking people are aware that the cost of freedom has been great, it’s always good to remind many who never bother to think of the sacrifices others have made so they can be horse’s rumps!  Perhaps it was for this reason that Texas Fred sent me the logo, so I, and many others like me could remind folks?

If you would like to be able to send this reminder to others, there is now an online shop with a variety of items sporting the logo.

How Cool!

For anyone in the Chicago area, y’all might want to check into this:

chicagocool-ship

The Chicago Young Republicans (CYRs) are really taking the April 15th Tea Party in Chicago to a new level — after the protest on Daley Plaza during the afternoon, the CYRs have organized a protest cruise on Lake Michigan to channel the original Boston Tea party more than two hundred years ago.

And they’ve really outdone themselves with this one — booking the largest tall mast ship in the country for a two hour Tea Party adventure on the lake, following a large rally on Navy Pier sure to get major media attention.

The festivities kick off at 430pm April 15th, with the ship sailing at 515pm. Big John and Cisco Cotto from WIND 560AM emcee the event, with some very (VERY) special guests promised.

From 430pm-900pm, there will be an event on the dock at the Billy Goat Tavern at Navy Pier, to send the ship out into the lake, and for the duration of the cruise. This event is open to anyone sick and tired of reckless spending and a Congress that doesn’t bother to read legislation before passing it.

The cruise on the tall ship itself lasts from 515pm to around 630pm, and is a ticketed event, open to the first 125 people to sign up. Tickets include catered food and open bar on the cruise (for tickets, head to http://chicagoyrs.com).

I don’t suppose there’s a cool ship for the Nashville Tea Party:?

Lies, Damn Lies, and WHOPPERS!

The Myth of 90 Percent: Only a Small Fraction of Guns in Mexico Come From U.S.

You’ve heard this shocking “fact” before — on TV and radio, in newspapers, on the Internet and from the highest politicians in the land: 90 percent of the weapons used to commit crimes in Mexico come from the United States.

– Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said it to reporters on a flight to Mexico City.

– CBS newsman Bob Schieffer referred to it while interviewing President Obama.

– California Sen. Dianne Feinstein said at a Senate hearing: “It is unacceptable to have 90 percent of the guns that are picked up in Mexico and used to shoot judges, police officers and mayors … come from the United States.”

– William Hoover, assistant director for field operations at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, testified in the House of Representatives that “there is more than enough evidence to indicate that over 90 percent of the firearms that have either been recovered in, or interdicted in transport to Mexico, originated from various sources within the United States.”

There’s just one problem with the 90 percent “statistic” and it’s a big one:

It’s just not true.

In fact, it’s not even close. By all accounts, it’s probably around 17 percent.

More here.

Gee.  The anti 2nd Amendment administration is lying.  Who could have seen THAT coming?

“Power Tends To Corrupt….

…..and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” ~ Lord Acton

Let’s face it, anyone who sits in a seat of power for any length of time, tends to be corrupted by, or because of, that seat.  Obviously, I’m talking about politicians.  Although, it could be said of any position of power.  Look at some of the recent scandals involving churches, teachers, and yes, even the big evil corporations.

All political parties have had some serous problems, and that just as true today, as it has been throughout our history.  I know that there are corrupt Republicans.  I know there are corrupt Democrats.  Unlike the Dems, however, the Republicans don’t embrace the corruption, and tend to kick the corrupt to the curb.  In recent history, I’m sure you’ll remember that emphatic statement of the current Speaker of the House:

“The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history,” Pelosi said.

Yes, we’ve seen how ethical this Congress has been since that statement.

New Flavor at Baskin-Robbins

2 April 2009, 8:20 am. 1 Comment. Filed under Chris From Racine, Chuckles.

In honor of the 44th President of the United States, Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream has issued a new flavor, “Barocky Road“.

Barocky Road is a blend of half Vanilla, half Chocolate, and surrounded by Nuts and Flakes.

The Vanilla portion of the mix is not openly advertised and usually
denied as an ingredient.

The Nuts and Flakes are all very bitter and hard to swallow.

The cost is $100.00 per scoop.

When purchased it will be presented to you in a large beautiful cone, but then the Ice Cream is taken away and given to the person in line behind you..

Thus you are left with an empty Wallet, no change, holding an empty cone, with no hope of getting any Ice Cream.

Aren’t you feeling stimulated?
