So….Who Will Wisconsin Free?

29 May 2009, 10:34 am. Comments Off. Filed under Chris From Racine, Crime, Dhimmicrats, Moonbats & Other Animals.

From Charlie Sykes:

Who would Jim Doyle Free?

Voting around 3 a.m. (based on the timing of this blog post) Democrats approved his plan to gut truth in sentencing and let hundreds of convicted felons loose from state prisons. Here’s how it would work:

*An inmate who is sentenced for a misdemeanor or for a Class F to Class I felony that is not a violent offense may earn one day out of confinement for every two days served.

*High Risk or Violent Class F to Class I Felonies, and Class C to Class E Felonies.  Specify that certain inmates who are ineligible under the above provision may earn one day out of confinement for every three days served.

*An inmate sentenced to a Class C to Class E felony may earn one day out of confinement for every 5.7 days served.

Here is the list of Felonies and Misdemeanors.  Do you think the average law-abiding person wants people who commit these crimes out on the street early?

Class C

940.09(1c)(b). Homicide by intoxicated use of vehicle or firearm

940.21. Mayhem

940.225(2). Sexual assault: second degree sexual assault

940.285(2). (see statute) Abuse of individuals at risk

940.295(3)(b)(1g). (see statute) Abuse and neglect of patients and residents

940.305(2). Taking hostages

940.31(1), (2)(b). Kidnapping

941.327(2)(b)4. Tampering with household products

943.02. Arson of buildings; damage of property by explosives

943.23(1g). Operating vehicle without owner’s consent

943.32(2). Robbery

946.50(3). Absconding

948.02(2). Sexual assault of a child

948.025(1)(e). Engaging in repeated acts of sexual assault of the same child

948.03(2)(a). Physical abuse of a child

948.05(2p)(a). Sexual exploitation of a child

948.051. Trafficking of a child

948.06. Incest with a child

948.075. Use of a computer to facilitate a child sex crime

948.085. Sexual assault of a child placed in substituting care

948.30(2). Abduction of another’s child; constructive custody

961.41(1)(cm)4. Manufacture, distribution or delivery

961.41(1)(d)4. Manufacture, distribution or delivery

961.41(1)(e)4. Manufacture, distribution or delivery

961.41(1)(hm)4. Manufacture, distribution or delivery

961.41(1)(im)4. Manufacture, distribution or delivery

961.41(1m)(cm)4. Possession with intent to manufacture, distribute, or deliver

961.41(1m)(d)4. Possession with intent to manufacture, distribute, or deliver

961.41(1m)(e)4. Possession with intent to manufacture, distribute, or deliver

961.41(1m)(hm)4. Possession with intent to manufacture, distribute, or deliver

961.41(1m)(im)4. Possession with intent to manufacture, distribute, or deliver

And that’s only the Class C felonies.  Go on…read the rest!  These are the folks that the dems claim will go to work, pay taxes and stay out of trouble.  Forgive my skepticism, but somehow I don’t think that’s the plan of these thugs.  In fact, with our justice system, they usually get little to no prison time on a first or even second offense.  I would venture to guess that most of these “non-violent criminals” are in fact career criminals.

I sincerely do not understand the thinking of the left.  *sigh*

Wisconsin – The New California

29 May 2009, 8:33 am. 2 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Dhimmicrats, Economy, Feckless Weasels, Taxes.

This was NOT a good way to start the morning.

The Legislature’s Joint Finance Committee passed provisions overnight that would impose a tax on oil companies, increase the cigarette tax by 75 cents a pack and allow inmates to be released early.

The committee also funneled money into road and building projects in Democratic districts as it wrapped up its work on the state budget.

Democrats who control the committee and Legislature pushed through the measures late Thursday and early Friday. Republicans decried the tax hikes and said releasing inmates would endanger the public.

“This provision guts the idea of truth in sentencing,” said Rep. Robin Vos (R-Caledonia). “There are going to be more victims.”

But Democrats said the measure was part of a broad effort to reform the state’s 22,500 inmates so they would get jobs, pay taxes and stay out of trouble when they’re released.

HAHAHA!!!  Are they kidding?  Get jobs, pay taxes and stay out of trouble??  Please, someone get me some of whatever these idjits are taking.  I’d love to know what goes on in la la land now and again.

Lawmakers also went along with Doyle on a plan to change how child sex offenders are monitored with global positioning satellites. The most dangerous offenders would be monitored continuously, but lower risk offenders would wear tracking devices that reported once a day on where they had been the last 24 hours.

Lovely.  And just who would determine which are higher risk and which are lower risk?  ALL sex offenders hold a high risk of re-offending.  Fools!

In other action:

Cigarette tax:The committee voted to raise the cigarette tax by 75 cents a pack, to $2.52, starting around Sept. 1.

Sooo, they’re going to once again raise taxes on cigarettes, yet the entire state is going smoke-free as of July 5, 2010.  Just what exactly are they going to do when the revenue they so depend upon dries up??  I know a lot of folks, myself included, who are transitioning to electronic cigarettes.  I get my nicotine, and the state gets nada.

Driver’s licenses: The committee adopted a provision that would allow illegal immigrants to get driver’s licenses. The licenses could be used for driving but not for other purposes.

Rep. Pedro Colón (D-Milwaukee) said it would reduce the number of unlicensed drivers on the road and released letters from law enforcement officials backing the idea because they would know more about drivers they stop.

“If you can’t ID them, you can’t assess how dangerous they are,” Colon said. “You spend?.?.?.?hours on a traffic stop that yields nothing but a broken traffic light.”

The cards would have a unique design to distinguish them from other licenses. They would say in bold lettering that they could not be used for purposes other than for driving.

But Republicans said they thought the provision would make it easier for illegal immigrants to get government services and commit voter fraud.

“There’s a whole lot of clerks who take that driver’s license as verbatim that someone is here legally” and can register to vote, Vos said.

By now you all know how I feel about this one.  Illegal means illegal.  Get. Them. Out.  Instead, we’re going to give them licenses so that while they are here ILLEGALLY, they can drive LEGALLY???  Huh??

Auto insurance:The committee recommended increasing the minimum amount of car insurance people would have to buy. People would still have the option to drive without insurance, but if they did buy it, they would have to purchase more coverage than they do now.

I posted on this elsewhere awhile back.  Wisconsin does not require that one carry car insurance.  Soooo, why are those of us who are responsible enough to do so being punished??  I am getting sick and freaking tired of being penalized for doing the right thing.  I have the urge to cancel all of our car insurance, but since I’m a grown up, that won’t happen.

Wisconsin is a trial lawyer’s dream, a business owner’s nightmare, and quite frankly, I’ve about had it.  Those fools in Madison have no idea what goes on in the real world, or if they do, don’t give a damn.  As we are so fond of saying, will the last person to leave Wisconsin, please turn out the lights?

Because J.D. Says It SO Much Better!

29 May 2009, 7:19 am. 5 Comments. Filed under 1st Amendment, 2nd Amendment, Opinion.

There was a terrific post up over at The American Tea Party, but evidently, IE had issues.  But the gist of it was Sotomayor is NOT a good choice for the Supreme Court.

Just a snippet:

The problem is, our fellow Americans in the northern and northeastern states, as well as some of the liberal west coast states, do not, cannot, and never will, understand that. We southerners, on the other hand, have no intention of giving one inch on our belief that no government body whether federal, or state, or county, or even a lowly city council, has a right to take our guns. We believe, way down in our bones, that any so-called reasonable gun control is the “camel’s nose under the tent” type of Incrementalism and to allow even what may seem, on it’s face, as “reasonable” only allows the camel to push it’s nose deeper into the tent, until pretty soon the entire camel is in the tent with you – and your guns are gone!

Just as the southern states warned the federal government, beginning in the 1820’s and continuing throughout the 1830’s, the 1840’s and 1850’s, that those unfair taxes levied against the southern states would eventually blow up in the federal government’s face, current warnings about gun control are, also, going unheeded. The “gun culture states” have been warning the government for decades now that a serious gun control campaign by those governments will blow up in their faces with truly awful consequences. THAT is just how serious this is to southerners.

I wish y’all could read the entire post.  :(

Update: It looks like the post is back up.  Hopefully, there won’t be any more IE issue.  Go!  Read it!

Texan Woman Told to Remove ‘Offensive’ American Flag From Office

Debbie McLucas comes from a patriotic family – her husband and both of her sons served in the U.S. military, and her daughter is currently deployed to Iraq on her second tour of duty as a combat medic.

So when McLucas arrived at work at a Texas hospital last Friday, she was stunned to be told that the Stars and Stripes she had hung in her office in advance of Memorial Day were offensive, and that the flag had been removed.

“I got into work, I was met by my supervisor and told that there had been multiple complaints, that people found the flag very offensive and it had been taken down,” McLucas told FOXNews.com.

“I went to the office to retrieve it and found the flag wrapped around the pole, sitting in the corner on the ground. I was speechless.”

On the GROUND? Who the hell put in on the ground? Have people in this country become so callous that they don’t know how to take care of our nation’s flag anymore?????

My flag touched the ground. Do I need to destroy it?

No. You should, of course, try to avoid having the flag touch the ground. But if it does, you should correct the situation immediately. If the flag has been dirtied, you should clean it by hand with a mild soap solution and dry it well before returning it to use.  (source)

McLucas, a supervisor at Kindred Hospital in Mansfield, Texas, had displayed the 3-by-5-foot flag in the office she shares with the hospital’s three other supervisors. McLucas said one of her colleagues, a woman who immigrated to the United States from Africa 14 years ago, complained about the flag to upper management, and the hospital decided to take down the flag.

“I was told that as long as my flag offended one person, it would be taken down,” McLucas said.

I can tell you right here and now….if I was the big boss, and this broad came whining that she was ‘offended’ my our national symbol, I’d be telling her to pack up her desk, get her freakin’ ticket and haul her sorry ass back to Africa!

A Kindred Healthcare spokeswoman did not return calls for comment. Kindred issued a press release stating, “Kindred Hospital Mansfield has a great deal of appreciation for the service that many of our employees and their families have given to their country. We honor our veterans and active military through a variety of benefits and service programs. This was an isolated incident between two employees that we are working to resolve amicably.”

The statement went on to explain: “The disagreement was over the size of the flag and not what it symbolized. We have invited the employee to put the flag back up.”

As one commenter said at Fred’s, this sounds like a total CYA. Notice what was said previously: “I was told that as long as my flag offended one person, it would be taken down,” McLucas said.” One person complained, the flag to honor our men and women of the military for Memorial Day was rolled up and tossed in the corner.  Now, if the flag was 505 feet by 225 feet, I can understand there would be some issues.  There wouldn’t be enough room for one person to work in the office, much less four.  But a 3×5?  Give me a break.  I’m not buying their excuse!  Sorry.  But that’s just me.  And I’m offended that anyone who immigrates to this country would take offense at the flag that allowed her the freedom to immigrate.

San Diego Weasels: Thou Shalt Not Pray

Couple: County Trying To Stop Home Bible Studies

A local pastor and his wife claim they were interrogated by a San Diego County official, who then threatened them with escalating fines if they continued to hold bible studies in their home, 10News reported.

Attorney Dean Broyles of The Western Center For Law & Policy was shocked with what happened to the pastor and his wife.

Broyles said, “The county asked, ‘Do you have a regular meeting in your home?’ She said, ‘Yes.’ ‘Do you say amen?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Do you pray?’ ‘Yes.’ ‘Do you say praise the Lord?’ ‘Yes.’”

The county employee notified the couple that the small bible study, with an average of 15 people attending, was in violation of county regulations, according to Broyles.

Psst! HEY! San Diego!!!

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t see ANYWHERE that it says you have to have a permit to study the Bible in your own home!

“For churches and religious assemblies there’s big parking concerns, there’s environmental impact concerns when you have hundreds or thousands of people gathering. But this is a different situation, and we believe that the application of the religious assembly principles to this bible study is certainly misplaced,” said Broyles.

Most churches have parking lots, large and small, depending on the number of members they have. Ours is kind of small when you look at some of the big ones around town, but it works for us. How many people have large parking lots put in when they hold baby showers? How about engagement parties? Does San Diego require those folks to have permits, costing thousands of dollars?

If the county refuses to release the pastor and his wife from obtaining the permit, they will consider a lawsuit in federal court.

I’ll be more than happy to kick in a few bucks, if the need arises, to help them fight this blatant violation of their 1st Amendment rights!

It was the utter absurdity of the whole premise of being “green” and so PC, it’s enough to make ya puke, so of course, we thought it was funny as hell. :D

This Guy Makes Me Sick!

I have never seen such arrogance on display as I have with Drew Peterson

Drew Peterson cracked jokes live from jail on Wednesday on a Chicago radio show that he called collect. The former Bolingbrook police officer, charged in his third wife’s death, offered snippets of a comedy routine on WLS-AM Radio’s “Mancow & Cassidy” show.

“$20 million bond. Legal fees: tens of thousands. Being falsely accused of a homicide that didn’t happen: priceless,” Peterson said in a spoof of a MasterCard commercial.

Peterson, who once proposed a “Win a Date With Drew” contest, offered a jail version called “Win a Conjugal Visit with Drew.” He also joked about prison showers, his legal fees and his “bling” handcuffs, saying humor is how he deals with stress.

During the nearly 7-minute phone call, Peterson tried out a few crude one-liners.

“I didn’t understand why they had seat belts on the toilet until after I had a couple of meals here,” he said while the hosts played a drum-roll effect.

He also said he misses his children and has prayed and read the Bible during his imprisonment.

Peterson is charged with first-degree murder in the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio. He is also a suspect in the 2007 disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson.

He denies wrongdoing.

This guy is just disgusting.  And by the way, isn’t he engaged to victim wife number 5??  How anyone can be so flippant in these circumstances is beyond me.   And what’s up with the radio stations??  I think it’s sick that they promote this kind of garbage.

I hope he gets everything that’s coming to him.  I sincerely hope that they find Stacy’s body and nail him to the wall.  I hope he’s convicted of Ms. Savio’s murder.  I truly hope he spends the rest of his ugly life in prison.  It’s where he belongs.

I’ve rarely seen a more despicable display than this human POS.

And A Little Loose Change Is All You’ll Have!

The Largest Expansion of Government Ever

Speaking to a celebrity studded fundraiser for the Democratic National Committee in Beverly Hills last night, President Barack Obama humbly proclaimed he “would put these first four months up against any prior administration since FDR.” Actually, let’s do that. Since taking office, President Obama has:

Near the end of his Beverly Hills remarks to the Hollywood elite, Obama promised, “Los Angeles, you ain’t seen nothing yet.” Unfortunately President Obama may be right again. His upcoming agenda includes a trillion dollar energy tax, the stealth nationalization of the health care industry, and an economy killing rewrite of our nation’s labor laws.

There is only so much the American people will take, and I believe we have gone past the point of no return.  Unless we stand up, DEMAND the weasels to cease and desist, we may end up with a second not-so-Civil War that will make the first one look like a minor skirmish.

Obama in L.A.: ‘You ain’t seen nothing yet’

Even as he conceded there is still much hard work to do, President Obama was in a boastful mood Wednesday night, telling a star-studded crowd at a fundraising dinner that he “would put these first four months up against any prior administration since FDR.”

The president, speaking to a dinner that included Hollywood A-listers like Kiefer Sutherland, Marisa Tomei, Jamie Foxx, Ron Howard and Steven Spielberg, lauded the legislation he has signed since taking office but added that he is “not satisfied.”

“I’m confident in the future, but I’m not yet content,” Obama said.

I’m no longer confident in the future. Since these people have stormed into Washington, D.C., NOTHING has taken place to promote confidence. I see a nation in ruins, bankrupt, on the verge of fascism.  I don’t have to pay $30,400 to know I’m being screwed here, and neither should anyone else, including the clueless out in Hollyweird.

NAACP Wagging Fingers At NASCAR

28 May 2009, 8:02 am. 8 Comments. Filed under 1st Amendment, ACLU, Feckless Weasels, Sports.

NAACP Branch Readies for Confederate Flag Fight

Members of the Miami-Dade branch of the NAACP want the Confederate flag banned from the Homestead-Miami Motor Speedway, and they will meet Thursday to decide whether to boycott a NASCAR race slated there for November.

Debra Toomer, the branch’s chairwoman of press and publicity, said a planning session has been scheduled to decide on a course of action regarding the display of the flag at the Nov. 20-22 event, as well as its presence at city-sponsored events like last year’s Veterans Day parade.

“The concern is there,” Toomer said of Confederate flags. She declined to comment further before the meeting.

Just how much idiocy are people going to put up with? I want all symbols of Africa banned at NAACP events! Oh, but wait…that’s a freedom isn’t it? Hmmm…. There are no Confederate flags on any of the cars, none of the uniforms, none are sold at the concessions, so what’s their problem? I guess it’s ok for some folks to show pride in their heritage, but not others, right?

“… we don’t regulate the lawful behavior of our fans or prohibit free speech and expression of our guests,” Gray told FOXNews.com. “We can’t tell people what to wear. Where do you start? Where does it end, as far as individual expression?”

Evidently, there are some who believe freedom of speech only applies to them, eh? Tell you what….ban every single flag that is NOT the U.S. flag, and we’ll talk. No African, no Mexican, no Irish, no Italian, etc. NONE! Anywhere! EVER!

Brandon Hensler, a spokesman for American Civil Liberties Union’s Florida chapter, said bringing a Confederate flag to the race or any public event would be protected speech.

“If someone wants to show up with a shirt like that, there’d be no legal recourse for that,” Hensler said. “Unless there’s a specific threat, all speech is protected.”

Well, there’s a shocker. One of the few times the ACLU gets it right!

“Any time somebody starts talking about that, of course there’s cause for concern,” McMichael told FOXNews.com. “The bottom line is I don’t think they should ban [Confederate flags] because there’s nothing wrong with them. It’s just people showing pride in their heritage.”

As a proud daughter of the south, I know there are many people who do not understand our love for the Confederate flag, especially those in the north. We don’t look at that flag as a racial division, as most folks down here don’t have issues with anyone, but criminals, no matter what their color. That flag doesn’t represent slavery! It represents freedom from oppression from a tyrannical central government. It really chaps my hide that there are a few groups who have turned it into something else, but I have no control over that, and so far as I know, stupidity isn’t against the law.

Ann On Madame “Empathy”

I Feel Your Pain. Not Theirs. Yours.

God save us from liberal “empathy.” After President Barack Obama announced his empathetic Supreme Court nominee this week, Judge Sonia Sotomayor, we found out that some people are more deserving of empathy than others.

For example, Judge Sotomayor apparently “empathized” more with New Haven, Conn., government officials than with white and Hispanic firefighters who were denied promotions by the city on the basis of their race.

Let’s hope she’s as empathetic to New Haven residents who die in fires fought by inferior firefighters as a result of her decision.
