I simply cannot believe BHO would consider this…

WASHINGTON (AP) – A source tells The Associated Press that President Barack Obama is considering California Supreme Court Justice Carlos Moreno and more than five other people as nominees for the Supreme Court. An official familiar with Obama’s decision-making said others include Solicitor General Elena Kagan, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano and U.S. Appeals Court judges Sonia Sotomayor and Diane Pamela Wood—people who have been mentioned frequently as potential candidates.

The official said there were other people under consideration. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because no names have been publicly revealed by the White House.

THIS IS A BREAKING NEWS UPDATE. Check back soon for further information. AP’s earlier story is below.

You can read the rest here.

I will admit I don’t know much about the rest, but Janet Napolitano??  Are you kidding??  This woman has shown nothing but incomptence from day one, and BHO is considering putting her on the Supreme Court?  The same person who says that illegal immigration is not a crime?  The same person who thinks that veterans are “susceptible” to right wing extremists?  The same person who thinks the 9/11 terrorists came through the Canadian border?  THAT Janet Napolitano?

Or is there the possiblity that BHO would do this for the sole purpose of getting rid of her as Secretary of Homeland Security without throwing her under the bus?  Kind of reminds me of the Seinfeld episode in which Elaine, because she is afraid to fire a copy editor, promotes him.   Could that possibly be a reason?  Because I’ve gotta tell you, the thought of this woman on the Supreme Court makes my skin crawl, and the fact that BHO could possibly consider her is quite frightening.  She has been making gaffes at every turn.

As I said before November 2008, electing Obama is not merely a matter of riding it out for four years – it can have very long standing consequences.  I’m afraid we’re just getting a taste of them.

It’s What They Do

Politicians lie? What? Surely you jest!

Yep! They do. Lips move…lies spill out! But I gotta tell ya, this administration, and all the drooling acolytes are taking the “lying politician” (but I repeat myself) to new levels.

A budget with no shortage of lies
By: Jay Ambrose

It’s nothing new for presidents to give us bloated budgets with phony promises of belt-tightening at the end of the day. But never, ever, in the history of the republic has there been so irresponsibly gargantuan a budget defended by rhetoric so duplicitous as we are now seeing from President Barack Obama.

“We cannot settle for a future of rising deficits and debts that our children cannot pay,” he said last month, and he has talked as well about fiscal discipline, eliminating waste, increased efficiency, more focused policies and how dishonest President Bush was in leaving the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan “off the books.”

Well, yes, Bush did that thing and he shouldn’t have, but everyone knew that money was being spent and the dishonesty, such as it was, is nothing – zero, zip, nada – next to Obama dressing up as a miser as he promotes a $3.59 trillion budget with a $1.2 trillion deficit on its back.

Murtha Rival Says Congressman’s Top Aide Threatened to Have Him Court-Martialed

Rep. John Murtha’s opponent in the 2008 election claims the Pennsylvania congressman’s chief of staff has threatened to have him recalled to active duty and court-martialed for campaigning while in the military, which is in violation of military code.

Bill Russell, an Iraq war veteran who served with the Army, told FOXNews.com that Murtha’s chief of staff, John Hugya, made the threat on two occasions — first to his former commanding officer and then to his face in March.

“It’s a terrible, terrible threat to make,” said Russell, a Republican who lost to the Democratic powerhouse in November but plans to challenge him again in 2010. Asked if Murtha is trying to bully him out of a rematch, Russell said: “It was a direct intent to intimidate.”

John Murtha is a slug. Those people who keep voting him back into Congress are slugs too!

Just sayin’.

The Pied Piper of Washington DC

There was a Pied Piper who said, “We live in the greatest country in the world. Come help me change it!”

*And the people said, “Change is good!”

Then he said, “We are going to tax the rich fat-cats,”… *And the people said “Sock it to them!” “and redistribute their wealth.”

*And the people said, “Show me the money!”

And then he said, “Redistribution of wealth is good for everybody”

*And Joe the plumber said, are you kidding me?”

And Joe’s personal records were hacked and publicized.

*And one lone reporter asked, “Isn’t that Marxist policy?” And she was banished from the kingdom!

Then someone asked, “With no foreign relations experience, how will you deal with radical terrorists?” And the Pied Piper said, “Simple. I’ll sit down and talk with them and show them how nice we really are and they’ll forget that they ever wanted to kill us all!”

Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll give 95% of you lower taxes.”

*And one, lone voice said, “But 40% of us don’t pay ANY taxes.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Then I’ll give you some of the taxes the fat-cats pay!”

*And the people said, “Show me the money!”

Then the Pied Piper said, “I’ll tax your Capital Gains when you sell your homes!”

*And the people yawned and the slumping housing market collapsed.

And he said, “I’ll mandate employer- funded health care for EVERY worker and raise the minimum wage.”

*And the people said, “Gim’me some of that!”

Then he said, “I’ll penalize employers who ship jobs overseas.”

*And the people said, “Where’s my rebate check?”

Then the Pied Piper actually said, “I’ll bankrupt the coal industry and electricity rates will skyrocket!”

*And the people said, “Coal is dirty, coal is evil, no more coal! But we don’t care for that part about higher electric rates.”

So the Pied Piper said, “Not to worry. If your rebate isn’t enough to cover your expenses, we’ll bail you out. Just sign up with ACORN and your troubles are over!” Then he said, “Illegal immigrants feel scorned and slighted. Let’s grant them amnesty, Social Security, free education, free lunches, free medical care, bi-lingual signs and guaranteed housing.”

*And the people said, “Ole`! Bravo!” And they made him King!

And so it came to pass that employers, facing spiraling costs and ever-higher taxes, raised their prices and laid off workers. Others simply gave up and went out of business and the economy slowed even further. Then the Pied Piper said, “I am the Messiah and I’m here to save you! We’ll just print more money so everyone will have enough!” But our foreign trading partners said, “Wait a minute. Your dollar isn’t worth what it was. You’ll have to pay more.”

*And the people said, “Wait a minute. That’s not fair!”

And the world said, “Neither are these other, idiotic programs you’ve embraced. You’ve become a Socialist state and a second-rate power. Now you’ll play by our rules!”

*And the people said, “What have we done?” But it was too late.

If you think this is a fairy tale, open your eyes and ears. It’s happening RIGHT NOW! And did you know the president’s name is really an acronym…

Liar, Liar….Pants On Fire….

…..your nose is longer than a telephone wire!

Oddly enough, I rather liked that song when I was a young sprout.  I was a strange child….no doubt about that, but that’s not the point.  Now, every time I hear Nancy Pelosi even speak, that song pops into my head.

House Majority Leader: Congressional Hearings Should Explore Pelosi’s Interrogation Briefing

The House majority leader reluctantly agreed Tuesday that congressional hearings should investigate Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s assertion that she wasn’t informed, more than six years ago, that harsh interrogation methods were used on an Al-Qaeda leader.

The fact that Hoyer is “reluctant” doesn’t say much for his integrity. Oh….he’s a Democrat, and in Congress, integrity isn’t even an issue, is it. :?

Rep. Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called Republican challenges to Pelosi’s assertion a diversion from the real question of whether the Bush administration tortured terrorist suspects. Nonetheless, he acknowledged the controversy should be resolved.

Well, he’d be one of those who knows all about ‘diversion’, now, wouldn’t he. That aforementioned “D” behind his name is an indication. However, if the Speaker had an “R”, or an “I”, Stoyer would be out there shouting to the rafters for a full investigation.

“I think the Republicans are simply trying to distract the American public with who knew what when. My response to that is, look, the issue is not what was said or what was known; the question and focus ought to be on what was done.”

Evidently, Hoyer, and a few other folks up there in D.C. really do believe us “unwashed masses” are ignorant. Ya see, we happen to know that if there were objections, those involved could have put an end to everything, right from the start. First off, Congress could have cut off all funds to any of the alphabets involved. They do hold the purse strings, right? Pelosi could have spoken up, but she didn’t. No, instead she’s been lying, for the sole purpose to doing anything and everything possible to discredit the Bush administration.

A CIA document made public last week shows that Pelosi received a briefing in September 2002 on the tactics used on Abu Zubaydah, an Al Qaeda leader and one of three prisoners subjected to waterboarding. Pelosi said she was told the agency was discussing its legal right to use the tactic in the future.

Let’s face it. In order to save her sorry ass, Pelosi will do, or say anything. Remember this?

Pelosi explained that Democrats should be the party of ethics, that appearances count, that dealing forcefully with Jefferson’s scandal would help everyone else in the room. “You didn’t elect me emperor or queen,” she said. “You elected me leader.” Washington Post – January 4, 2007

Well, ethics don’t seem to be one of the things Pelosi ‘suffers’ from, nor anyone else in D.C. these days.  “Leader”?  Paaaaaleeeeeze.  Once upon a time, there were a few fairly decent Dems, but they’ve either fallen into the cracks, or followed the queen’s lead.

queen_nancy

The Dhimmicrats obsessing on whether or not water-boarding is torture is more slight of hand.  Lives have been saved, but that’s not important, as long as their favorite target is in their sights.  Don’t they have something more important to do…..like print, and spend, more money?

A twist on that old joke:  How can you tell Pelosi is lying?  Her lips are moving.

Why The Rising Violence?

Perhaps it’s because the new POTUS is opening the door for it?

The revival of a transit route that officials had declared all but closed comes as the Obama administration is exploring a new diplomatic dialogue with Syria. At the same time, Washington remains concerned by Syrian activities — including ongoing support for the militant groups Hezbollah and Hamas, as well as activities involving Iraq.

As nice as it would be to share tea and crumpets, and sing Kumbaya with the world….ain’t happening!

On Wednesday, acting Assistant Secretary of State Jeffrey D. Feltman and National Security Council official Daniel Shapiro arrived in Syria for their second visit since Barack Obama’s inauguration as president. Two days later, however, Obama renewed U.S. sanctions against Syria, accusing Damascus of supporting terrorism in the Middle East and undermining Iraqi stability.

I’d like to ask why BO officials have been to Syria twice already. At least Bush had the good sense not to suck up to them. What a shame Obama can’t understand appeasement does not work.

When she was in Syria, Pelosi said the “road to Damascus is the road to peace.”

At the time, National Security Council spokesman Gordon Johndroe shot back: “Unfortunately, that road is lined with the victims of Hamas and Hezbollah, and the victims of terrorists who cross from Syria into Iraq. It’s lined with the victims in Lebanon, who are trying to fight for democracy there. It’s lined with human rights activists trying for freedom and democracy in Syria.”

Oh yes….we all remember Queen SanFranNan’s waltz into infamy.

pelosi-syria

Here’s the shocker for you.  I’m not going to blame Obama for the actions of terrorists.  I WILL, however, blame him for opening the door to more such attacks with his clueless policies.  Wait a minute.  Maybe I AM blaming him.  They are his policies, after all.  Hmmm…  Well, whatever.

I’m sure as long as he keeps bowing to his ‘handlers’, all will be well, right?

U.S. Will Pay $2.6 Million to Train Chinese Prostitutes to Drink Responsibly on the Job

The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAA), a part of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), will pay $2.6 million in U.S. tax dollars to train Chinese prostitutes to drink responsibly on the job.

Dr. Xiaoming Li, the researcher conducting the program, is director of the Prevention Research Center at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit.

The grant, made last November, refers to prostitutes as “female sex workers”–or FSW–and their handlers as “gatekeepers.”

So, let me get this straight…..MY tax money is going to China to teach hookers how to drink….responsibly….while being….hookers? “Gatekeepers”?  They are freakin’ PIMPS!  Uh….. You’ll excuse me while I get angry! WHAT THE ****?????

“The purpose of the project is to try and develop an intervention program targeting HIV risk and alcohol use,” Li told CNSNews.com. “So basically, it’s an alcohol and HIV risk reduction intervention project.”

If the Chinese are concerned about this, why aren’t THEY paying for it? Oh…wait a minute…they are, aren’t they. Just through the U.S. And they’re going to train the pimps too? How nice. Train scum to treat women like trash. Yep.  Real good way to spend tax dollars.

Our Governmental Agencies at Work

12 May 2009, 10:03 am. 3 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Crime, Economy.

This just made me laugh…

Millions of Americans on Social Security are receiving $250 checks as part of the president’s stimulus plan — including an Anne Arundel woman who died more than 40 years ago.

The woman’s son, 83-year-old James Hagner, said he got the surprise when he checked his mailbox late last week.

“It shocked me and I laughed all at the same time,” Hagner said. “I don’t even expect to get one my own self, and I get one for my mother for 43 years ago?”

His mother, Rose, died on Memorial Day in 1967.

Social Security representatives said there is a good explanation. Of the about 52 million checks that have been mailed out, about 10,000 of those have been sent to people who are deceased.

Folks, that’s $2.5 MILLION dollars…

The agency blames the error on the strict mid-June deadline of mailing out all of the checks, which didn’t leave officials much time to clean up all of their records.

Funny, if I made that type of error at work, I’d be fired before I could take my next breath.  Oh.  Wait.  This is our government we’re talking about.

Agents ask that people return the check if they receive it.

Hagner said he’d like to frame it and hang it on his wall.

“I just want to keep it as a souvenir, that’s all. I’ll never cash it,” Hagner said.

Social Security officials said they aren’t expecting to lose too much money to fraud. They’re reminding the public that it’s a federal offense to cash someone else’s Social Security check.

Hahahahaha!!  Oh wait…they’re serious?  Oh.  Right.  Because no one would defraud the US Government, would they?  Puleez.  Way to stimulate the economy, folks.

Military Schools

Georgia Activists Slam USMC High School

No summer vacation or Friday night lights. It’s platoons instead of homerooms — and a commandant keeping 13-year-old pupils on point.

No one will ever confuse the proposed Marine Institute for “High School Musical,” and that’s got a more than a few people fuming.

Plans between the Marine Corps and a Georgia school district to establish a Marine high school has prompted vocal protests and raised the prospect of similar military-linked high schools appearing nationwide to offer disadvantaged but talented students alternatives to traditional schools

Where some see a military sponsorship as the final alternative to decaying discipline in disadvantaged schools, others see a surreptitious attempt by the services to boost their numbers and promote a culture of violence.

“Just like in the early Reagan years, when it became popular for CEOs to take over school districts, we may be on the verge of the military trying to bail out schools from their discipline problems,” said Georgia activist Tim Franzen. “If this succeeds, they will open others. I can see it spreading like wildfire.”

So?  What’s the problem?  Have you watched the news?  “Culture of violence”?  ROFLMAO  Jiminy crickets.  What do they think is going on in many urban public schools?  Do they believe the little darlin’s are the picture of discipline?  I honestly believe there are many schools that could use some military type discipline.

“We are opposed to recruiting children into the military this way at such early ages. This is the trend: Giving out free violent video games, inviting them to come and fire weapons to get them used to the idea of shooting. Thinking that nothing bad will happen,” said Grace Hawkins, a member of Atlanta Grandmother’s for Peace and the Georgia Peace and Justice Coalition.

Does this woman seriously believe that, playing ‘violent’ video games would be a new thing for kids these days? Have you seen some of the games kids are playing these days…..AT HOME!? Bought by their own parents?  Sometimes joined by said parents in such play?  Give me a freakin’ break!

The school is not a feeder program for the armed forces, he said, as attendance does not translate into a military obligation. Instead, it brings the focus and discipline of the Corps to secondary education with the aim of preparing students for college, McHenry said.

Since when is teaching kids self discipline a bad thing? When kids go into JROTC programs, they aren’t obligated to join any branch of the military, but do have the choice. This woman, her group, and others like her want to take away any choice for kids. So what if they want to pursue a career in the military? Would that be such a bad thing? Those young men and women who make such a difficult choice are the very same ones who protect this woman’s right to be a putz.
