An Ol' Broad's Ramblings

Welp, I’m off on another adventure in the political world. This evening, TN Lt. Govenor Ron Ramsey, will be talking in Jackson. So, since I’ve missed the previous shindigs with other candidates (due to health issues), I’ve decided to bite the bullet, and go see what he’s got to say. I’ve got a little notebook tucked away, so I hope I’ll be able to take a few notes. We all know my memory ain’t so swuft anymore.
I’ve been trying to find a list of all the declared candidates, but haven’t had any luck on that front. I have every intention of doing my best to make an informed choice, no matter which party the candidate claims. If I happen to come across a Democrat (highly unlikely) that reflects my views, then I’ll support him/her. If there is a Republican, the same thing. If there is an American Conservative member (no party here…..YET), then they’ll get the same scrutiny.
AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT OBAMA
By Lou Pritchett
Dear President Obama:
You are the thirteenth President under whom I have lived and unlike any of the others, you truly scare me.
You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you.
You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support.
You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American.
This just makes my head explode.
A Connecticut judge has blocked the deportation of four illegal immigrants, ruling that their constitutional rights were violated by the federal agents who arrested them during a 2007 raid.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents entered the four men’s apartments without a warrant, probable cause and without consent, according to Federal Judge Michael Straus. Therefore, the judge ruled, the illegal aliens’ rights were “egregiously violated” and deportation proceedings terminated.
The four men were among 30 people arrested by federal agents during an early morning summer raid in New Haven, the nation’s first city to offer illegal immigrants official identification cards so that they can enjoy public services and integrate into the community. Seventeen people were subsequently charged with being in the U.S. illegally and a group of law students from a nearby Ivy League university represented them pro bono.
The four illegal immigrants spared from deportation lived in the same Fair Haven building. The judge chastised the behavior of ICE agents for forcibly entering private homes and failing to demonstrate probable cause for arrest. Besides terminating removal proceedings, the judge suppressed any evidence gathered by federal agents because the illegal aliens’ constitutional protections to due process were violated.
“The touchstone of the Fourth Amendment is ‘reasonableness’ and, by natural extension, one’s reasonable expectation of privacy,” Judge Straus wrote. “Nowhere is that expectation of privacy more sacrosanct than in the confines of one’s home.” A New Haven news web site has posted two of the four rulings here and here.
Ironically, ICE agents were recently called upon to rescue a group of illegal Ecuadorian immigrants in the same city who had been exploited by a local business. ICE officers came in the middle of the night to remove women and children from two apartments and turn them over to social workers for relocation assistance. So far no immigrant rights group has complained about those agents entering the illegal aliens’ homes in the night.
Will someone please…PLEASE tell me why ILLEGAL immigrants are granted the rights that the U.S. Constitution grants U.S. citizens?? (By the way, that is a RHETORICAL question). Good Grief!! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again…they are here ILLEGALLY!!!! What in the world do people not understand about that word?? They have committed a crime by the simple fact that they have crossed the border without going through proper channels. And yet…YET…they are granted the same rights provided to us under the U.S. CONSTITUTION???
Does anyone truly think that if we were on foreign soil, without having gone through proper channels, we would be granted the same rights as the citizens of that particular country?? But here in the good ol’ U S of A, we coddle these criminals.
I just don’t get it.
…….and I do NOT apologize!
“The nations that joined together to defeat Hitler’s Reich were not perfect,” he said. “They had made their share of mistakes, had not always agreed with one another on every issue. But whatever God we prayed to, whatever our differences, we knew that the evil we faced had to be stopped. Citizens of all faiths and of no faith came to believe that we could not remain as bystanders to the savage perpetration of death and destruction. And so we joined and sent our sons to fight and often die so that men and women they never met might know what it is to be free.”
If that POS is so ashamed of MAYBE being an American, and I really do have my doubts, then why did he want to be POTUS in the first place?
The president’s penchant for apologizing for his country in speeches to a global audience has by now become almost commonplace, as if to wash his hands of the mistakes of his predecessors – or what he considers to be mistakes. On some level, the White House clearly considers this presidential approach to be the essence of U.S. public diplomacy in the Obama era, and it is compounded by the apologies issues by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as well.
The people he really needs to be apologizing to are the American people! He needs to get down on his knees and beg forgiveness for being a complete and utter PRICK! And I wouldn’t mind an apology from the morons who voted this sleeze ball into office as well!
A small snippet:
Understand this: I believe, as I said earlier, some sort of socialized Medicine legislation will be passed by the US Congress this year. Most likely it will be the ObamaCare government-owned insurance company. Just remember, it is only the beginning. It is, in fact, the beginning of your life as a serf, as a slave to the government. Because, you see, that is what socialism is – slavery by another name.
There has always been an excellent reason America was the only industrialized nation on earth without socialized medicine. Because we are, at least we WERE, a free and independent people who believed in ourselves, and in our God, to meet the challenges thrown at us by whatever and whomever and always find it within ourselves to stand our ground and overcome. Somehow, somewhere, along the way, we have lost that belief in ourselves. We have now become like so many of the countries to which we used to send missionaries.
Please, go read the whole post. Then contact your reps and tell them NO to ObamaCare!
