47-year old pleads on sex charges

A Savannah man has been released from the Hardin County Jail after pleading guilty to six counts of sexual battery, officials said.

Rickey John Daniels, 47, had been held since his arrest on May 24, 2007, according to Savannah police iInvestigator Tim Keen.

Hardin County Circuit Court records show Daniels had originally been charged with two counts rape of a child, three counts of rape and one count of statutory rape.

Given credit for time service, he received a two-year sentence as a Range 1 offender eligible for probation after serving 30 percent.

Keen said the victims were a 13-year-old girl and a 15-year old boy and the earliest offenses occurred in 2005.

Excuse me, but just who thought this deal was a good idea?  We’re talking rape and children, and they let the scum bag out after 2 years, in the county jail?  Now, as best as I can figure out, a Range 1 offender is considered kind of minor.  Can someone help me out here?  Since when is the rape of a child “minor”?

I just don’t get it. And these are the kind of criminals Doyle wants to release early. When will people start protecting the children…for that matter, when will punishments ever start fitting the crimes? Good Grief!!

Insanity at it’s finest.  And it’s contagious!
