…and yes, occasionally, it does give me a brain cramp. I am trying to define conservatism, at least my brand of conservatism, in no specific order.
Pro-life – protecting the unborn.
Pro-military – they do a tough job, and whether or not you agree with what they are doing, ALWAYS respect the uniform they CHOOSE to wear.
Small government – the U.S. Constitution lays out exactly the role the federal government, and a lot of what we’ve seen in recent years coming out of D.C. are in no way, shape or form, laid out in that document.
The Bill of Rights – 10 simple rules that say quite plainly what it means, and that includes the 2nd which insures the 1st.
Welfare – one of the biggest drains on recources in this country. A hand up…..NOT a hand out!
Marriage – one man….one woman. That’s it!
Affirmative action – make it go away! “Content of character” anyone? The majority of conservatives don’t really look at color, we’ve moved past that. Isn’t it time for the left to stop believing that people can’t make it on their own merit?
Unions – another thing that needs to go away! At one time, there might have been a need for such organizations, but no longer. We have laws in place that protect employees. They have become nothing more than a push towards fascism.
Borders – secure them…..NOW! NO amnesty for a bunch of criminals who snuck in the backdoor, no jobs, no education, no medical care……NADA!
Taxes – enough already! If you want a reasonable tax system, how about 10%….on EVERYONE’S income. You make $10, you pay $1. You make $1,000,000, you pay$100,000. Not enough? Ok, make it 15%. The system we have right now is beyond ridiculous!
Ok, what am I forgetting? I know there are a lot of things….help me out here!

Not a bad start…I’d suggest unions are a necessary evil, in as much as a threat for the unscrupulous….But yeah, they have became what they fought against.

….at one time, I think there was a need. Employees had no protection. That time is past, and now, we have unions running the governments. Example, the WEAC totally owns the state of Wisconsin. Really. They do. Because of unions, the kid applying for his first job at the local burger joint doesn’t ask how he can be a better employee, he wants to know what’s in it for him. Non union companies are much more productive, are able to keep prices low, and employee a lot of people. Unions have managed to destroy the car industry. Cradle to grave mentality. It’s infected the free world, and that world is not so free anymore, is it.
