Nationwide Protest against Obama’s Cap and Trade

The time for a nationwide protest against our “lawmakers” has come—I am no longer referring to them as our representatives as they have stopped representing We-the-People. The volume of calls placed on Friday to the US Capitol switchboard and our Congressional Reps again shut it down and voice mailboxes were full. The calls placed were reported to be 10-1 AGAINST Obama‘s and Pelosi’s plan to raise energy prices to we the consumers by at least 100% and in most cases 150-200%. Despite We-the-People (now We-the-Peons) telling the House of Representatives to vote “NO”, after reportedly being strong-armed and threatened by Pelosi and Obama House members voted “YES”. And, they voted on this bill that most of them admit they DID NOT READ!

Note: It is clear that these Representatives now represent ONLY Obama and Pelosi. They no longer represent their constituencies. And the ones who benefit from this legislation are those who are invested in “alternative energies” that will do nothing to improve any energy resources but, will merely allow the Federal Government to charge We-the-Peons more money. By the way, most of these “alternative energy” sources are either highly unreliable (for example wind doesn’t blow all of the time and the energy produced cannot be stored for future use) or cost far more than traditional sources. Alternative energies also tend to use more resources than traditional energy.

This is long and the hand-held camera is shaky but it was an honor and a privilege–even a duty of citizenship–to watch every second of it. I kept thinking that these strangers taking time from their day to stand on a hot, dusty Georgia roadside in June spoke more than words of their own commitment to citizenship. You may get a little choked up but that’s a good thing.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City , Georgia , just south of Atlanta , on June 11, 2009 . The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough , Georgia . A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time. Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. Be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places. The link below is a short travelogue of that day’s remarkable and painful journey. But only watch this if you wish to have some of your faith in people restored.

Selmer TEA Party

Well, the Mr and I made it to the TEA Party in Selmer a little early, and there was already a good size group gathering, milling around.  Remember that we aren’t a largely populated area, and a lot of folks don’t have internet access.  Yes, believe it or not, there are people who do NOT live on the computer.  Go figure.

Tea1 There was a lady handing out name tags, which I think is an excellent idea!  I’m ok with faces, but names…..  I’m lucky I remember my own half the time.  Yes….old age and a miss spent youth will do that to ya.

It was definitely HOT!  Since we are still under a “heat advisory”, I’d say yep….it was FREAKIN’ HOT!

Tea2 Unfortunately, you can’t see what’s under the U.S. flag, but it looks a bit something like this:  TEA flag1 I had a lot of folks asking where they could get one.  :D

I’d say, at the peak, there were about 150 to 200 folks there. It’s kind of hard to tell because they are pretty spread out. What a nice park! Good sized too.

There were folks who were providing free food and drinks as well.

food folks

There were quite a few speakers, and even though they were each alloted 5 minutes to speak, the only one who managed was actually a politician.  Heh.  Go figure.

Said politician, Vance Dennis, our state Rep.

I guess people are fed up, and they have a LOT to say.  One of the first guys to speak was a young fellow named James Harrison.  It was a common thread.  Contrary to what the Poser would like to believe….this IS a Christian nation, founded on Judeo-Christian principles, and LAWS!

All in all, it was a good turn out, with passionate folks, getting involved, and standing up to tyranny! This is not the time to be apathetic. It is time to take our country back!

Busy Day!

We’re off the the TEA Party in Selmer…..Selmer City Park….1pm.  Then, it’s time to do a little recuperation before we head out to a picnic/cook out/BBQ….something like that….this evening.

This is the first time I’ve done two things in one day for a while, so keep your fingers crossed.  LOL  Yeah…sounds kind of silly, but hey, with recent health issues, I haven’t done much of anything lately.

It’s a mite warm (92) out there right now….thinking a bottle of water might be a good idea.  :D

Stoned wallabies make crop circles

The mystery of crop circles in poppy fields in Australia’s southern island state of Tasmania has been solved — stoned wallabies are eating the poppy heads and hopping around in circles.

“We have a problem with wallabies entering poppy fields, getting as high as a kite and going around in circles,” the state’s top lawmaker Lara Giddings told local media on Thursday.

“Then they crash. We see crop circles in the poppy industry from wallabies that are high,” she said.

Many people believe crop circles that mysteriously appear in fields around the world are created by aliens.

Poppy producer Tasmanian Alkaloids said livestock which ate the poppies were known to “act weird” — including deer and sheep in the state’s highlands.

“There have been many stories about sheep that have eaten some of the poppies after harvesting and they all walk around in circles,” said field operations manager Rick Rockliff.

Australia produces about 50 percent of the world’s raw material for morphine and related opiates.

Now that’s funny. Wish there was video! Heh. Naw….don’t wanna see the wee wallabies hurt themselves, but seriously, don’t ya think it would be amusing to see?

The Stamp

The Postal Services created a stamp with a picture of President Obama. The stamp was not sticking to envelopes. This enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation. After a month of testing and $1.73 million in congressional spending, a special Presidential commission presented the following findings: The stamp is in perfect order. There is nothing wrong with the adhesive. People are spitting on the wrong side.

Email From My Rep

The Cap and Tax bill passed by a vote of 219 to 212. The vote constitutes substantial bi-partisan objection to this scheme. That will make advocates of big and intrusive government’s job much harder in the Senate. We fought hard, and you can watch my floor statements here.

I know that many of you called and e-mailed Washington today. The number of Democrats voting against this bill is a testament to your hard work and involvement.

The work is not finished. It is more important than ever that we pass my bill, H.R. 391 as soon as possible. H.R. 391 will prevent the EPA from regulating carbon dioxide under the Clean Air Act. Should the Senate defeat Cap and Trade, the EPA can still cap CO2 and damage our economy without Congressional approval. Should Cap and Trade pass, and the EPA is still permitted to control CO2, they will be able to dramatically exacerbate the negative economic impact.

I know, and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle know, that you were watching today. That is important and I thank you for it.

Well, seems to me, there are quite a few up there in Washington, D.C. who don’t give a flying flip that we are “watching them.”
