Kudos!
Tenn. Planned Parenthood loses gov’t funding
About $1.1 million set aside for family planning in the state will now be distributed mostly to local health organizations and not the taxpayer-supported abortion provider. Susan Allen of Tennessee Right to Life was there for the vote. “In the House, the vote was 69-to-22,” she notes, “and in the Senate, 25-to-7.”
Allen is thankful that Planned Parenthood will no longer receive the annual automatic nod from the state. “For approximately 40 years, Planned Parenthood was given preferential treatment in the Tennessee state law for getting family planning funds that are under Title X from the federal government,” she explains.
Earlier this year, Lila Rose of Live Action conducted an undercover video probe at Memphis Planned Parenthood, during which she posed as a 14-year-old girl impregnated by an older man. A staff member advised her how to obtain the abortion without identifying the molester. Allen believes Rose’s revelation had an effect on lawmakers.

Holding the President Accountable on His Stimulus
Yesterday, the White House released new rules for counting the number of jobs created by President Barack Obama’s $787 billion economic stimulus plan. Governors, mayors, and contractors will be required to keep track of every full-time, full-year job funded by Obama’s stimulus, but they are not required to submit their data to the federal government until October of this year. White House budget office deputy director Rob Nabors told the AP: “If governors or mayors or contractors make up numbers, it’s not going to take long for that to come to light.” But what about Vice Presidents? If this data isn’t even going to be collected until October, then why was Vice President Joe Biden running around the country earlier this month claiming Obama’s stimulus “has already created 150,000 jobs around the country.” Talk about making stuff up.
The Obama administration’s newfound commitment to accuracy in stimulus job counting comes at the same time that Americans are rapidly losing faith in the effectiveness of his stimulus plan. The Washington Post released a new poll today showing that “barely half of Americans are now confident that President Obama’s $787 billion stimulus measure will boost the economy.” The Post continues: “What was once a clearly positive assessment of the program among independents (56 to 39 percent) is now an almost even split (50 to 47 percent).” The poll also identified some of the reasons more Americans are losing faith in the $787 billion deficit spending plan. Almost nine in ten Americans say they are “very” or “somewhat” concerned about the size of the federal deficit, and independents now say they favor smaller government with fewer services to a larger government with more services by a 61% to 35% margin. That is compared to a 52% to 44% margin a year ago.
The markets have also been casting a vote of no confidence in Obama’s economic policies. Bond market “vigilantes” – those major institutional buyers of government debt impervious to soaring rhetoric and political promises – have reawakened and want to see concrete steps toward getting the $2 trillion deficit under control. The effect of the projected massive government borrowing, however, is to drive interest rates as much as a full percentage point higher yet. This will mean higher interest rates for consumer loans, mortgage loans, business loans, etc. Instead of a 6.5 percent mortgage rate, home buyers will face a 7.5 percent rate. The debt-based Obama economic stimulus plan is about to become a major drag on the recovery.
And there is no end in sight to the federal government’s profligate spending. The two leading health care reform bills that have been scored by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) weighed in at $1 trillion and $1.6 trillion. And on top of adding one of the most expensive new entitlements in American history, Congressional Democrats are planning to increase discretionary spending by another 8% this summer.
When selling their economic stimulus to the nation, the Obama administration set a clear benchmark of 138.6 million jobs in the U.S. economy by the end of 2010. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. economy currently employs 132.2 million people. The President has 6.4 million jobs to go.
Let’s face it…..this administration is so full of male bovine excrement, that the stench is causing the walruses in the arctic circle to gag!

All of this prompts me to ask the obvious question: Just how dumb does Obama and his cohort in Washington think we are, anyway? Pretty dumb, I suspect. After all, Americans DID elect Obama and the other socialist in Congress to the offices they hold. That fact, alone, convinced this scribe of the extremely high ignorance factor amongst Americans in so far as politics is concerned.
Obama’s election was a huge; I MEAN HUGE, victory for ignorance in America. There is simply no other way to explain the man’s election.
I agree with that last paragraph 100%. Can we fully blame the American public education for the rampant stupidity that we are seeing today? No, not completely. Intelligent people will do their best to educate themselves when the education system fails them. I have to put some of the blame on parents, for not insisting their kids read books written by people who are NOT pushing the socialist agenda. But that’s just me.
Go, read J.D.’s post, and think really hard about the big question…..who would want to be a doctor under the plan being shoved down our throats?

You might be asking why I posted the Preamble, and the Bill of Rights, and the links for the U.S. Constitution. Well, I’ll tell you….it’s because there are way too many people who have NO idea what is in the documents, many of whom are currently sitting in elected office, on EVERY level of government. I’ve heard people say the Constitution is “a living breathing document”. Horse manure! This document should be written in stone. It is just as relevant today, as it was in 1791, when the original document was signed by the Founding Fathers.
My anger has grown slowly over the last few years, but I am now over the top with my disgust at what I have seen done to this second most important document in American history….the first most important being the Bible. I am now beyond angry. I know that I am not alone in my anger.
The current administration has declared war on this nation’s citizenry. My question is….Why? Why do they fear us? Those of us who believe in the sanctitiy of marriage, in the protection of the pre-born, and the strength of the U.S. Constitution, uncut, unedited, scare them? The only reason they should fear folks like me, is if they are hell bent on destroying that sacred document, the foundations of this nation.
I’m Speechless!

McCain: Obama doing well as president
Sen. John McCain says his opponent in last year’s presidential campaign, Barack Obama, has “done well” in his first five months in the White House.
The Arizona Republican says that using a legislative scorecard to judge the presidency so far, Obama has achieved all his legislative goals.
On the down side, McCain says that Obama’s successes in Congress have come with little or no Republican support.
McCain also is critical of Obama for setting a date for closing the detainee facility at Guantanamo Bay without first developing a comprehensive plan for what to do with its prisoners.
And the Arizona senator says Obama should speak out more in support of protesters in Iran.
McCain appeared Sunday on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”
Excuse me while I pick my chin up off the floor. On what planet does McCain reside these days? I’d like to think he’s just being polite, but the days of being polite have long past, and it’s time to tell it like it really is! Obummer SUCKS at the job.
I still find it incredulous that McCain was the Republican nominee. I know of only ONE person who was a McCain supporter, and I won’t even get into what type of fruitcake that woman is. Oh, yes, I’m guilty of voting for him, but the only reason I was able to do that was because of Sarah Palin’s strong conservative values, which McCain is sorely lacking…..obviously. I’d say it’s way past time for Arizona to have some fresh blood representation. Someone who is actually closer to the core values of the Republicans under Reagan. Chris Simcox. McCain is obviously not up to the job anymore.

A Mind is a Terrible Thing To Waste
The U.S. Senate voted unanimously last week to adopt a resolution apologizing for slavery.
Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, lead sponsor of the resolution, said, “You wonder why we didn’t do it 100 years ago. It is important to have a collective response to a collective injustice.”
Only after decades of public education ignoring and distorting U.S. history can such a huge lie be said with a straight face.
Senator, you didn’t do it 100 years ago because 100 years ago you Democrats were enforcing Jim Crow segregation laws, poll taxes to keep blacks from voting, and riding around in sheets and pointy hats just in case blacks didn’t get the message.
You say “It’s important to have a collective response” because you want to bury the origins, purposes, and historical practices of your own party.
The worst part is, Republicans in the Senate let you get away with it.
Principled Republicans knowing their history would have authored a resolution reciting the facts that the Republican Party was formed, among other reasons, to oppose slavery and that the Republican Party and its first President Abraham Lincoln responded to Southern, Democrat-led secession with a successful war that preserved the union and freed the slaves.

As a proud daughter of the South, I must say, this kind of crap seriously chaps my hide. I agree with Hedgecock, every single Dem should be bowing and scraping and paying reparations. Not because any of them owned slaves, but because they are the party that has kept blacks in one form of slavery or another, since Lincoln, a REPUBLICAN, signed the Emancipation Proclamation on January 1, 1863. The first blacks to hold office were Republicans, not Democrats. And the party that fought long and hard for voting rights, after a century of suppression, from the DEMOCRATS, were the Republicans.
Take a wild guess who ran on which party!
I do not apologize for something I did not do. I will not pay reparations to a people I did not harm, and who have NOT been harmed, except by the constant drumming of the “you can’t do it, let us help you” of the Democrat Party.
Any member of the Republican Party who signed on to this travesty should be given a crash course in TRUE history, and then promptly be voted out of office, or recalled, whichever comes first!
I have a suggestion for any black American who still clings to the notion that the Democrats are your friends….think again! Talk to black conservatives, and believe me, there are a LOT more than you think, listen to the REAL history, not that crap you’ve been force fed for so long, and decide just where you stand. Odds are, you’re a lot more conservative than you ever thought, and the Democrats have been USING YOU for decades!

US tries to stop Geronimo lawsuit
US officials have moved to block a legal bid by descendants of Apache leader Geronimo to have his remains reburied.
Geronimo’s relatives say some body parts were stolen almost 100 years ago by members of a society linked to Yale University to keep in their clubhouse.
The relatives want to rebury the warrior, who died in 1909, near his birthplace in New Mexico.
But the justice department has asked a federal judge to dismiss their lawsuit.
The society, known as Skull and Bones, is alleged to have stolen some of Geronimo’s remains from a burial plot in Oklahoma in 1918.
Why would those yahoos in D.C. deny a family the right to rebury their family member near his birthplace? Is there some reason said officials want to keep him in OK? Is this a tourist trap or some such? If so, wouldn’t his burial place be as much as one in New Mexico? I don’t understand. What is it that these officials are trying to prove? I could say a lot about the abuse of the U.S. government has perpetrated against American Indian, but I don’t think that is even necessary. If someone knows why a family’s wishes are being denied, could someone please clue me?

Illegal Alien Commits Horrendous Crime
An illegal immigrant in New Jersey reportedly has been charged with sexually assaulting nine girls under the age of 8 — and prosecutors fear there could be more victims.
Cirilo Cholula, 18, faces nine counts of child endangerment and aggravated sexual assault against girls ranging in age from 4 to 7 years old, The Star-Ledger reported.
Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford told The Star-Ledger that authorities began investigating Cholula after parents of one alleged victim told police they suspected he had molested the young girl.
The illegal Mexican immigrant, who the prosecutor’s office said knew all the alleged victims, was arrested Tuesday night and was being held on $1 million bail, according to the paper.
Ford believes more victims could be out there and asked parents to notify authorities if they think their children may have had inappropriate contact with Cholula
And here we go again. At least nine young, innocent lives have been forever changed. By someone who should never have been here in the first place. 4-7 years old? Despicable!!!
Now, I find the difference in the way this story was reported in two different sources very telling. In the story above, the headline reads “Illegal Immigrant Accused of Sexually Molesting 9 Girls Under 8 in New Jersey. As it should. In this story however, the headline reads “Lakewood Man Accused of Sexually Assaulting 9 Girls.” In fact, in the second story, the immigration status of the accused is not even mentioned until the 5th paragraph…and then he’s called “an undocumented resident.”
When will all this feel good bullsh*t stop?? Why is it that people are so concerned about the feelings and the rights (excuse me?) of illegal immigrants? Why are they not concerned with the feelings and the rights of the victims of these scumbags’ crimes?? And ya know what else? If and when this jackass is convicted, he’ll be getting three squares on my dime!!! Enough already!! As I’ve said before, I am very well aware that these and other crimes are being committed by people other than illegals, BUT, if we enforced our immigration laws, perhaps these nine little girls could have maintained their innocence.

In Poll, Wide Support for Government-Run Health
Americans overwhelmingly support substantial changes to the health care system and are strongly behind one of the most contentious proposals Congress is considering, a government-run insurance plan to compete with private insurers, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.
The poll found that most Americans would be willing to pay higher taxes so everyone could have health insurance and that they said the government could do a better job of holding down health-care costs than the private sector.
Please! Tell me! Who the hell did they ask???? Do you want to pay even higher taxes than we’ve already had thrown at us? Do you believe you should have to pay for some lazy ass son of a bitch who can’t be bothered to improve his/her lot in life? Or some criminal who sneaks across the border?
I hate to break to you folks who believe the gubmint is the answer to everything, but health care is NOT a right. You do NOT have a right to steal someone else’s hard earned dollars to pay for your birth control, or flu vaccine, or anything else. That’s not real life!

Years ago an Alabama grandmother gave the new bride the following recipe:
this is an exact copy as written and found in an old scrapbook – with spelling errors and all.
WARSHING CLOTHES
Build fire in backyard to heat kettle of rain water. Set tubs so smoke wont blow in eyes if wind is pert.
Shave one hole cake of lie soap in boilin water.
Sort things, make 3 piles
1 pile white,
1 pile colored,
1 pile work britches and rags.
To make starch, stir flour in cool water to smooth, then thin down with boiling water.
Take white things, rub dirty spots on board, scrub hard, and boil, then rub colored don’t boil just wrench and starch.
Take things out of kettle with broom stick handle, then wrench, and starch.
Hang old rags on fence.
Spread tea towels on grass.
Pore wrench water in flower bed. Scrub porch with hot soapy water.
Turn tubs upside down.
Go put on clean dress, smooth hair with hair combs..
Brew cup of tea, sit and rock a spell and count your blessings.
