Gun Saves Clerk’s Life
Another testament to the fact that guns, in the hands of law abiding citizens, do not create more crime; they in fact can stop crime.
ROSWELL, Ga. — A Georgia liquor store clerk credits his police officer son with giving him two life-saving gifts: a cell phone and a gun
Joseph Wescott says the phone he slipped into his shirt pocket stopped a knife to his chest when a robbery suspect attacked him at the store in a northern Atlanta suburb. He then reached under the counter for the .40-caliber handgun and shot the man.
“The knife that he had looked like it was about 10-foot long,” the 67-year-old Wescott exclaimed.
When the suspect lunged at Wescott, he fell back and the knife struck the battery area of the phone, the clerk said. He then fired one shot at the man Monday night.
“That was the first time I had ever fired that gun,” he said.
Police said Carlos JeanPeirre, 34, is recovering from non-life threatening wounds and faces multiple charges including aggravated assault and attempted robbery.
Wescott’s son, Jason, said he gave both gifts to his father to keep him safe. “Something like that can happen in a split second and it’s better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it,” Jason Wescott said. (Emphasis mine)
After the attack, Joseph Wescot said he used his cell phone to call 911.
Again, it’s not the gun that is dangerous, it is the person carrying the gun. You can create all the bans in the world, and I can guarantee you that criminals will still be able to get a gun. Firearms in the hands of properly trained citizens are NOT dangerous…they can, and have, saved the lives of many a potential victim.

We Want A Divorce!

The Constitution says we are given rights by God – not by the Constitution. The Bill of Rights only says what “the government cannot do”. In this case “infringe” on those God given rights.
The Second Amendment does NOT give us the right to bear arms – God gave us that right and the Second Amendment TELLS the Government they CANNOT infringe on those rights.

In the view of The New York Times, every criminal trial is a shocking miscarriage of justice — except the ones that actually are shocking miscarriages of justice.
Thus, in last week’s Times, Timothy Egan wrote about a shocking miscarriage of justice being carried out against a “high-spirited” American girl accused of murder by a crazed prosecutor in Perugia, Italy.
Egan’s column bears as much relationship to the facts of the case as — well, I guess as anything printed in the Times. And yet every American news network has embraced Egan’s version and is flacking for the accused.
Oh Yippee!
So I get a call from the heart doc yesterday afternoon, and they tell me I need to come in because they aren’t happy with the readings from this annoying monitor I’ve been wearing for the last few weeks. Shoot, I’m not happy cuz I’ve been wearing it, period. Dadburn sticky things are giving me one heck of a rash, and that the ones for ‘sensitive skin’.
I wandered my ol’ self down to Corinth for a 1:00 appointment, and didn’t even see the doc till 2. I was the only bloomin’ person there, fer the love of pete. Anyway, she says she’s not happy. Well, neither am I. It’s freakin’ hot out there, and they made me actually put grown up clothes on and drive an hour down there. 
Well, I guess she was no where near as unhappy as she was gonna make me in the following few seconds. “You need a pace-maker.”
Wait a cotton pickin’ minute! I’m old….but I ain’t THAT dadburn old! ……………………… Am I? sigh… Well, I guess I am. 
So, the Mr and I are heading down to Corinth in a little while, spend the night there, get the thing stuck in my chest first thing in the morning, then come home.
Gee, doesn’t that sound like fun? Well, of course it does. Uh huh. Naturally, the ol’ laptop is going with me. Gotta do something to keep myself entertained this evening, right? 
The Muse Asks A Question
Can the Left Be Racist, Ridiculous and Repugnant, Too? Or Just the GOP?
Yesterday, NewsComa broke a story about a GOP staffer who Forwarded an email containing a picture which she found racist and offensive. She broke the story at 10AM and, according to the timeline posted over at Silence Isn’t Golden, with a little help from the Lefty blogosphere, “in the span of about six to six and a half hours, everyone knows just how much racism exists within the TNGOP.” Big press from the Left on Right wing racism!
At the exact same time that story was breaking, in what can only be seen as a historic case of irony, a Democratic staffer was Forwarding an email that was even worse.
Titled “Smiles for Monday”, this email made fun of Racism:

and the Mentally Handicapped.
There’s more, of course, with vulgar language (including a couple of **F** bombs), quasi-nudity, and the Left’s omnipresent fascination with the Nazis.
What remains to be seen is whether the Left in Tennessee, and nationally, is willing to take a stand against Racism in Principle or show themselves merely interested in exploiting Racism by Party. Will Lefty bloggers condemn this Democrat and call for his firing? Will the Media cover this on the news like they did the story of the GOP staffer? Will the Left police their own? Will this be written up and front paged at Daily Kos, Wonkette, and Think Progress? And what will the TNDP do? Will Chip Forrester lead the way and not merely call for the firing of this staffer but fire first and comment later?
I’d like to think that there would be an identical response from the Left to the event. But I’m a realist. I have no doubt that there are some on the Left with integrity and character who will come out against this Democrat just as they did against the Republican. But I hold little hope that anything approaching the howling multitudes on the Left calling for the head of a GOP employee will bother to clean up their own stable and remove the beam from their own eye. I guess the next six and a half hours will show us just how much Racism exists in the TNDP, won’t it?

Somewhere in that vast dark area you call a BRAIN, I am fairly certain that even YOU can see the difference between the flags, but just in case it’s too taxing on your limited ability to view and comprehend, the next paragraph points out those differences FOR you.
The U.S. flag has WHITE STARS on a field of blue, and red and white STRIPES. The TEA Party flag has WHITE TEXT on a field of blue and red and white STRIPES. That is NOT, in ANY way, a violation of U.S. flag etiquette as this is NOT a United States flag. It IS a modification OF the United States flag, a variation if you will, but it is not THE flag of this nation, and your accusations are nothing more than lies. But, that’s exactly what we expect from the likes of you and your ilk!!
Why is it that the loons on the libtard left make their silly, unfounded accusations? Why is it that the term *tea baggers* is something that only the libtard left seems to have known about?? It is my understanding that calling us *tea baggers* is an insult that references some sort of deviant, perverted sex practice that ONLY the libtards are privy to.
So, once again, truth, justice, decency and honesty prevail. PATRIOTIC Americans KNOW what flag etiquette is all about, we don’t have to cloud the issues with reference to some sexual perversion that only libtards are aware of, or deliberately misinterpreted flag etiquette to try and prop up a very weak claim of some nonexistent moral superiority.

Now, much to some folks chagrine, including Fred, I’m a lot more tolerant of the left in some areas than I perhaps should be. I don’t know if it was my upbringing, or my faith, but there is a line that should not be crossed, and believe me, you’ll know when you’ve crossed it. Calling me, and many of those like me “tea baggers” has seriously crossed that line.
I’m sorry if capper doesn’t understand that now, more than ever, since 1776, there is a NEED for Americans to stand up to the ever encroaching federal government, as did the Southern states in 1861. I’m really sorry he doesn’t care about the future of other people’s children. If he, and those on his ‘side’, refuse to stand up, then it’s left to us, CARING AMERICANS to do so for him, and his friend’s children.

This is Just Wrong!
If no one has noticed, Barack Hussein Obama is black. So? Well, I don’t care what color he is, he’s lousy at the job, period. But these kinds of things aren’t really necessary, are they?
This picture was sent out by a legislative aide, to a few folks that weren’t suppose to get it? Honestly, I don’t believe it should have been sent out at all, because I know the type of reaction many have over such pictures.
Did I laugh? To be honest, yes, I did….but not for the reasons you might automatically think. I laughed because it is apparent to me that Obama is so in the dark, the depiction is fairly accurate. NOT because of the color of his skin, but because of his cluelessness. Yes, I do see how this sort of thing would come across racist, and after my initial reaction, it did hit me that was what it suppose to be….racist. But it wasn’t my first reaction at all. I guess I’ve moved past such childishness, a LONG time ago. Now, I’m more concerned with actions and results, the content of character, not the color of skin.
Should this have been sent out, especially by an aide to a TN state senator? Oh hell NO! It was wrong! Should people make more of it than what it is? Again, oh hell NO! Honestly, I wish someone would explain to me the difference between that picture and this:

Obama’s use of fear to motivate Americans to do what he wants us to do is simply unprecedented in the history of American politics. It is known within the circles of the political elite as the “Politics of Fear.” No, I’m NOT kidding, Mr. and Mrs. American. You are being played for the fools Obama and the democrat/socialists believe that you are. So far they have not been wrong in their estimation of how easily Americans will react to fright.
There is an old expression I ran across sometime back that goes something like this: “Ever notice when it seems there is imminent danger and impending disaster, there is someone who always seems to know exactly what to do? Quit often that person is insane!” I have no idea who said that, if I did I would certainly give then full credit, not only for the expression itself but also for the accuracy in the application of it to the Obama Regime.

Dead Protestor
Gunfire from a pro-government militia killed one man and wounded several others Monday after hundreds of thousands of chanting opponents of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad marched in central Tehran to support their pro-reform leader in his first public appearance since disputed elections.
At least one person fatally shot and at least two others who appeared to be seriously wounded.
The United States was “deeply troubled” by reports of violence and arrests in Iran, State Department spokesman Ian Kelly said, but he added that the U.S. knows too little about the conduct of the election to say for sure whether there was fraud.
“Deeply troubled”? Well, he was “saddened” by the murder of a U.S. soldier right here on home ground, but “shocked and outraged” at the death of a baby murderer. Hmm…. So, just in my opinion, he’s more upset that there will be one less slaughter mill, than he is over the death of people who are taking up the fight for freedoms?
“This is not election. This is selection,” read one English-language placard. Other marchers held signs proclaiming “We want our vote” and raised their fingers in a V-for-victory salute.
“We want our president, not the one who was forced on us,” said 28-year-old Sara, who gave only her first name because she feared reprisal from authorities.
I know the feeling. But seriously, will the one be all that much better than the other? Granted, from what I’ve been reading, Ahmadinnerjacket is manageable whereas Mousavi would not be so much under the thumb of the Mullahs. In the end, Iran will continue on it’s merry way, hating all things Western, and we will still be the Great Satan.
I do pray for the safety of those who would like to see some change in their country, away from the strict Muslim rulers, but I don’t think anything will really change if they do get their elected candidate.
