Reagan Speaks… LISTEN!

29 July 2009, 8:49 am. 2 Comments. Filed under Congress, The ONE.

Sound familiar? Yeah….thought so. He knew, even back then, that it was just one step used by the left to bring We, The People, under the thumb of the administration, instead of the way it was meant to be. Remember, THEY work for US, not the other way around!

Why won’t they call it what it is?  SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!  And from what we’ve seen coming out of Great Britain and Canada, we KNOW it does NOT do what they say it does.  Free enterprise works best of all when it’s allowed to reign free.  Consistent meddling by the government has turned our nation into a country of dependents.  Time to regain our backbone!

Beheaded Infant’s Dad: Mother Accused in Killing Should Be Executed

Something like this should NEVER be a headline……ANYWHERE!

The warning signs were there. Otty Sanchez, a schizophrenic with a history of hospitalizations, wasn’t taking medication and was depressed after her son’s birth, the boy’s father said. A simple request seemed to set her off, alarming him and his family.

Yet, the 33-year-old woman was staying in a house where she had access to samurai swords. Child welfare officials were never called.

I realize it’s difficult to gauge what a mentally disturbed person would do, but is it really a good idea to leave such weapons laying about, accessible to them? Family and friends knew there were major problems, yet…..nothing?

Instead, Sanchez’s troubles became apparent to authorities when they found her before dawn Sunday screaming that she had killed her baby. Her 3 1/2-week-old son was dismembered in a scene so gruesome that police were left shaken.

“Maybe we missed” warning signs, San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said. “I don’t know.”

Gee. Ya think? I’d say y’all missed something. But honestly, I can’t fault the cops all that much. I can, however, fault the people who were closest to her, including the baby’s father. He was aware there was a serious problem, and he left the baby with the woman.

Sanchez told police — who described a scene so horrifying that investigators could barely speak to one another — that the devil made her kill, mutilate and eat parts of her only child.

Oh, I don’t doubt the devil had a hand in this at all. Yes, she is obviously quite ill, but that’s the door evil uses to come in.

Women with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder are at particularly high risk for developing postpartum psychosis.

I don’t believe such women should be sterilized, or any such thing. I DO however believe that if these women are susceptible, then there should be greater caution taken when they do give birth.

I pray the little one is resting with his Maker, in peace.

The AMA’s Take on Obamacare

29 July 2009, 7:47 am. 5 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Chuckles, Health Care.

Got this in an email.

Apparently the American Medical Association has weighed in on Obama’s Nationalized Health Care Plan

The Allergists voted to scratch it, but the Dermatologists advised not to make any rash moves. The Gastroenterologists had sort of a gut feeling about it but the Neurologists thought the Administration had a lot of nerve.

The Obstetricians felt they were all laboring under a misconception. Ophthalmologists considered the idea shortsighted. Pathologists yelled, “Over my dead body!” while the Pediatricians said,”Oh, Grow Up.” The Psychiatrists thought the whole idea was madness, while the Radiologists could see right through it. Surgeons decided to wash their hands of the whole thing.

The Internists thought it was a bitter pill to swallow, and the Plastic Surgeons said, “This puts a whole new face on the matter.” The podiatrists thought it was a step forward, but the Urologists were pissed off at the whole idea. The Anesthesiologists thought the whole idea was a gas and the Cardiologists didn’t have the heart to say no.

In the end, the Proctologists won out, leaving the entire decision up to the assholes in Washington.

Heh!

This Is What They Call “Water View”

view

Well, yeah. I guess so. This is the Gulf of Mexico as seen from the 8th floor of a hotel in Biloxi. Considering what the place looked like the last time we were here, and what it looked like right after the hurricane….massive improvements have been made. You can still see where a lot of damage was done, but you can also see a great deal of work that’s been done, and the new businesses that have been built. Rather impressive. Ok, so it’s true we haven’t seen much as of yet. We made it down here, basically in one piece. Naturally, we had to go through a massive rain storm. What would driving any distance be without going through sheets of water? sigh….

Hey, at least it’s a nice hotel, and obviously VERY new. :? But why are there so many screeching children running around? Hmmm…. It’s suppose to rain all week….maybe they’ll all go home? Heh. We’re talking 2 and 3 year olds….in a casino? Hmmm…. By the way, the Mr won a few bucks, and I broke even. Could have been worse, right?

Tomorrow, we’ll meet up with Ick and Short Person….no idea what they have up their sleeve for the day’s activities. I’d like to take some pictures of the major changes I’ve seen, but without contrast of our first trip, wouldn’t do much good, would it.  :-|

Ok, I’m exhausted and I’m going to sleep now!  I hope!

The Abortionist – A Review

28 July 2009, 9:04 am. 7 Comments. Filed under Chris From Racine, Friends & Family, Opinion, Stuff.

When I started reading the blogs a few years back, I stumbled across a blog called From Where I Sit. It intrigued me because it is written by a fictional character named Elliot Stearns. That fictional character has now come to life in a book titled The Abortionist written by Michael James Caughill.

In this post I reflect on friendships and the internet. Michael James Caughill is one of those who I got to know through Twitter and I finally got to meet him in person a couple of months ago. As a very avid reader, I was a little uptight reading a book written by someone I know – what if it’s bad? What if it’s just so-so? What do I say?

Well, in this case I don’t have to worry about those what-ifs. This book is fantastic!! It a suspense/thriller about a serial killer that takes place in Milwaukee. It is also a love story. It is NOT pro-life or pro-choice…as the author says, it’s pro-thought. The character development is tremendous – I really “got to know” the characters. Above all, it is a spine-tingling blood-chilling page turner. It’s one of those books you just don’t want to put down…you want to find out what happens next.

If you don’t believe me, visit the site – you can read the first five chapters for free!! And if you don’t want to go out and buy the book after reading those first five chapters, there is something seriously wrong with you! ;)

Road Trip!

28 July 2009, 8:16 am. Comments Off. Filed under Friends & Family, Travel.

Yes….another one.  Shaddup!  We’re trying to help stimulate the economy and create jobs, the old fashioned way….by supporting businesses with OUR hard earned bucks, NOT yours, via the gubmint.

So, we’re heading down to Biloxi to meet Ick’s mom and step dad.  It’s a little more complicated than that, but ain’t nun’ya, so I won’t go into the family dynamics!  :P   AND, while we’re there, staying in a casino hotel and playing tourist with Ick and Short Person, we will be doing what good Americans do…..spend money.  Just not as much as we would have if D.C. hadn’t screwed up the economy with their tinkering.

Oh, and yes, the computer is going with me.  Heaven forbid that I should be out of touch for a few days.  Heh.

A Few Quick Hits

27 July 2009, 5:47 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Opinion.

I’ve been fairly busy today, so haven’t really had the time, nor the inclination to do much serious posting. However, I did come across a few things that peaked my interest, and thought I’d share them.

Federal Hate Crime Law Looks Inevitable – Reason

Last week the Senate approved the Matthew Shepard Act, which dramatically expands the “hate crimes” covered by federal law, as an amendment to a must-pass military spending measure. Since the House already has passed a stand-alone version of the act, which President Obama strongly supports, it is expected to become law by the end of the year. Yesterday I discussed that prospect on The Bob Zadek Show, which airs on San Francisco’s KNEW. The major themes of the hour-long show: The hate crime bill exceeds the federal government’s constitutional powers, allows retrial of defendants acquitted in state court, violates the principle of equal protection by giving special treatment to crime victims if they belong to certain groups, and punishes people for their speech and beliefs by enhancing penalties for crimes motivated by bigotry.

One of the more stupid bills they’ve come up with in a while, and there are a LOT of stupid, irresponsible, bills coming out of D.C. these days.

THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION REVISITED – Ted Baldwin

Let’s be honest, America is facing the same legal, moral and ethical questions that our Founding generation did, especially regarding the issue of “Who Is Sovereign in the United States.” For our Founders, they fought, bled and died on the principles that no man or government has the right to rule over others contrary to their agreement (i.e. compact, constitution) and contrary to the principles of natural law as revealed in the Creation of God; that all men are born in nature with the power to govern themselves; and that no Sovereign government, established lawfully by the consent of we the people, can be usurped and controlled by any other entity. Thus, today in America, the question once again comes down to “Who is Sovereign in the United States?”

For those who think the federal gubmint was meant to be at the top of the food chain, sorry….you couldn’t be more wrong!  We fought a couple of wars on this issue, one we won, the other…depending on where ya live….we lost.  We seem to be losing the war of words right now.  Pray it doesn’t go any farther than that!

Constitutional crisis looming? – The August Forecast

The inflammatory issue of Barrack Obama’s birth certificate is gathering steam across America: Was he or was he not born in the United States?

If he was born anywhere other than on American soil, then his presidency is invalidated. Why? The Constitution of the United States pointedly requires that the President be a natural born citizen.

Defusing the issue would be easy: Obama could simply provide a legitimate and complete birth certificate proving his birth location. Not only has he stubbornly refused to do so, but he has spent several million dollars in legal fees to thwart various citizen lawsuits that demand proper disclosure.

No one who was legal to hold the office would fight so hard to keep all those documents hidden. At least, IMHO.

Arab Festival 2009: Sharia in the US – Acts17

Another case of tolerance from the religion of pieces.

The Shrinking President – Jed Babbin

Just as small men can be great, the important can be small. Barack Obama, who strode the political world last year as a new Colossus, is shrinking before our eyes. His proclamation that the Cambridge, Mass., police “acted stupidly” in arresting his personal friend, Professor Henry Louis Gates, Jr., was one of those “teachable moments” the president is so fond of creating.

But the lesson of that moment is not the one the president apprehended. It is a lesson that proved how little the president appreciates the office he holds.

I have come to the conclusion that B. Hussein Obama is a small minded little man who bought his way into the White House, employing a vast array of lies, and someone else’s money.

We’ve Figured Him Out – Ben Stein

Why is President Barack Obama in such a hurry to get his socialized medicine bill passed?

Because he and his cunning circle realize some basic truths:

The American people in their unimaginable kindness and trust voted for a pig in a poke in 2008. They wanted so much to believe Barack Obama was somehow better and different from other ultra-leftists that they simply took him on faith.

They ignored his anti-white writings in his books. They ignored his quiet acceptance of hysterical anti-American diatribes by his minister, Jeremiah Wright.

Not all of us ignored these things about Obama. As a matter of fact, many of us raised our voices to the roofs, trying to warn as many people as we could. Did they listen? Of course not! They drank the Kool Aid and now, we are all suffering the consequences. Thanks ever so much for your stupidity!

They Do NOT Understand English!

27 July 2009, 3:47 pm. 5 Comments. Filed under Health Care, Socialism, The ONE.

And considering the word NO is the same, or very similar in most languages, with a few exceptions, Arabic being one of them, you’d think they would get the message.  What message would that be, you ask?  Well, the one where WE, The People keep shouting to the rooftops:

NO NATIONALIZED HEALTHCARE!

NO SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!

NO OBAMACARE!

Can you hear us now??? No? Well, how ’bout this from CNN? Yup….CNN.

5 freedoms you’d lose in health care reform

1. Freedom to choose what’s in your plan
2. Freedom to be rewarded for healthy living, or pay your real costs
3. Freedom to choose high-deductible coverage
4. Freedom to keep your existing plan
5. Freedom to choose your doctors

If you won’t believe me, and CNN is your source of information, will you believe them?  The Obama, and his whole administration, is lying.  Yep…. L-Y-I-N-G!  And Congress is lying right along with them.  They are dead set on destroying this country, and have done much to promote that destruction in just a few short months.

Tomorrow in America…..Defenseless!

27 July 2009, 1:31 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under 2nd Amendment.

Guns and America
by J.D. Longstreet

Just a snippet:

“Society benefits from ordinary people who accept the responsibilities of firearm ownership. Society does not benefit from gun control.” I have no idea who said that first, but it would make an excellent motto for the Americans who believe Americans and guns are inseparable.

The argument over guns flares up, it seems, with each new Presidential Administration’s entrance into the White House. Much the same thing happens after each congressional election and when a new Justice is vetted for the US Supreme Court. As we are just a few weeks into all three happening, both camps have applied their war paint and are looking for opportunities to make thie positions known and likewise feel out the new people in the White House, on The Hill and on The Court.

When our forefathers wrote the constitution their collective wisdom was based upon all the collective wisdom from creation up to their day. To our knowledge, there were no “seers” or clairvoyants among them. In other words, no one could see the future or what it held for this brand new country and, indeed, the world. Had there been, I expect the final version of the constitution would read much differently from the end version we have today.

Two quotes from the piece:

Thomas Jefferson: “When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.

Adolf Hitler: “The most foolish mistake we could possibly make would be to allow the subject races to possess arms. History shows that all conquerors who have allowed the subject races to carry arms have prepared their own downfall by so doing. Indeed, I would go so far as to say that the supply of arms to the underdogs is a sine qua non for the overthrow of any sovereignty.

Inevitably, when you are in a ‘discussion’ with someone on the left, eventually, if you can stand it long enough, it will come around to “gun control”.  The issue isn’t really about controlling guns, it’s about controlling people.

Digg Is Racist!

Update: Well, they did write back after all!

While we understand your concerns, content of this nature should not be submitted to Digg.com.  However, we are willing to unban your account if you agree to not engage in behavior like this again.

–Digg Support

Are they freaking kidding me?  “Naughty naughty!  Don’t quote people, or we’ll have to slap your hand!

I’m flabbergasted! Do they think they are speaking to a 4 year old?  Well, considering the majority of the people who use Digg do have the mentality of children, I guess so!  :?

The so called social media known as Digg censors black people.  How do I know this?  Because they canceled my account!

The email exchange:

Me ~

I logged in this morning to see:

Your account is invalid

If you have any questions, please contact support@digg.com.

Well, I have questions!  Number one would be why!  I submit, I occasionally ‘digg’ or ‘bury’, but that’s about the limit.  I see no reason whatsoever for my account to be ‘invalid’!

Digg ~

Thanks for getting in touch with us at Digg.com regarding your account.

Me ~

That is ridiculous!  The “uppity blacks” was part of the title of the video made by a black woman!  I did not title it!  Perhaps you should dig a little deeper into these things rather than take the word of one basement dweller.

So, what you are telling me is that you censor black Americans??  Interesting.

The post in question, which isn’t a question at all is this one:

Uppity Blacks vs Blue Collar Whites: Shame on Prof.Gates

A video made, and TITLED by a black woman!

They have not responded to my last email, and I seriously doubt if they will.  Being called out on their own racism probably didn’t make them too happy.

So, I no longer have a Digg account.  Truth be told, I don’t give a flying flip!  If you want to ‘digg’ our posts, have at it!  Seems I won’t be able to.  Should I create another account?  Probably not.  I don’t find them all that useful anyway.  Oh, they are if you are a libtard, but conservatives tend to get buried a lot.  This also means I won’t be able to ‘digg’ anyone else’s post.  Sorry ’bout that!

If there is another media, actually worthy of input, let me know.

Where’s The Birth Certificate?

26 July 2009, 9:53 am. 9 Comments. Filed under Congress, Crime, Dhimmicrats, Feckless Weasels, Opinion, The ONE.

Passport seeker has no sympathy for Obama

Juan A. de Hoyos, a naturalized U.S. citizen living in Texas, wanted to cross the Rio Grande to see some family members.

On June 1, it became mandatory to have a passport to travel to Mexico. When he submitted his application, he included the only document he had that resembled the required birth certificate – a Texas birth card or birth abstract, a document he describes as looking “almost identical to the one President Obama posted on that website.”

But while that certification of live birth was enough to qualify Obama for the White House, de Hoyos can’t believe the only birth document he has won’t qualify him to get a U.S. passport.

This doesn’t sit well with de Hoyos – and many other Americans in similar situations being forced to produce exactly the right paperwork for routine matters while they see the president getting a pass on a constitutional requirement to be eligible for the highest office in the land.

Doesn’t it seem rather odd that everyone else has to show a certified birth certificate, yet the person sitting in the highest office in the land doesn’t?  And no, for those who find this whole issue a non-started, he has NOT produced any BC.  A certificate of ‘live birth’ is NOT the same thing as a certified copy of a birth certificate.  I could produce 3 of them, right this minute, with not much effort, whatsoever.  I had to have one to get my passport.  I had to produce one to get my Tennessee driver’s license.  Is it too much to ask for the POTUS to produce one as well? I don’t think so either.

Obama’s birth certificate is not the only document at issue. WND has reported that among the documentation not yet available for Obama includes his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.

Every candidate for President of the United States has had to produce a vast number of papers to prove their eligibility. Any, and all papers, have been gone through with a fine toothed comb. Why not Obama’s? Why are there no papers to be seen? Is he ashamed of the articles he wrote, if any at all? Or, is it something a lot more ‘sinister’?

Some Americans were shocked to learn last week that the certification of live birth Obama has claimed is his “birth certificate” is not acceptable to obtain a passport because it does not contain sufficient detail about the birth, such as time and location.

“Some”? ALL Americans should be demanding that the guy sitting in the White House, spending our money, appointing judges, etc., is even legal to hold that office. I don’t care if you are an Obamabot or not. We have a Constitution, which I’m sure many have never even read, that prohibits a foreign born person to hold that office! There is a darn good reason for that too, if you’d stop and think, it makes perfect sense. You can’t serve two masters. The Founders saw a major problem having a president who could/would be loyal to the country the citizens just fought to gain independence. If we have a POTUS, who is NOT a natural born citizen, where do his loyalties lie? Are they with the people of the nation he is suppose to represent?  Why is he fighting so hard, spending an exorbitant sum of money to literally HIDE any information that the American people have the RIGHT to peruse?

“No man, no matter how popular he may be, should be allowed to blatantly disregard the provisions of the Constitution,” says de Hoyos. “If we lose the Constitution, we lose America.”

Article 2, Section 1: “No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

Perhaps Obama is popular with the MSM.  Perhaps he’s popular with the obvious ignorant.  He’s not so popular with rational citizens of this nation.  His continued destruction of the Constitution will make 20 January 2009 a “red letter date”.  The day the United States of America died.

Down On The Farm

26 July 2009, 8:50 am. Comments Off. Filed under Congress, Economy, The ONE.

First Family’s Vacation Plans Take Shape Around Familiar Chilmark Farm

President Barack Obama and the First Family will rent the bucolic Blue Heron Farm off South Road in Chilmark for their vacation during the last week of August.

The 28.5-acre property some five hundred yards down Cobb’s Hill Road, spans the Chilmark and West Tisbury town line and overlooks Town Cove, the westernmost finger of the Tisbury Great Pond.

While the mechanics of renting the property were still ongoing at press time, the Gazette has learned that a rental agreement for the farm will comprise three leases, one to be held by the Obamas, another by the Secret Service and a third by a White House entourage.

The amount of the rental has not been disclosed, but up-Island properties similar to Blue Heron Farm rent for between $35,000 to $50,000 per week.

Seriously, I don’t have a problem with the Obummers taking a vacation. That being said, the way I see it, they’ve been on vacation pretty much since 20 January 2009. All the globe trotting at tax payer expense, Michelle’s shopping sprees, and such. At a time when the economy isn’t doing too great, and people are out of work, is it really such a good idea to rent a place for THAT much money? Aren’t there other properties that could be had for much less that would provide the privacy, and security, a POTUS requires?  Who is footing the bill for all their free spending?  Somehow I doubt it’s the Obummers themselves.  Weren’t they up to their necks in credit card debt? Don’t they own a house in Illinois where they could go spend some time?

Oh, wait a minute.  I forgot.  WE have to ‘tighten our belts’, and ‘make sacrifices’, not The ONE.  If it was HIS money, I wouldn’t see a problem, but since I rather doubt it is, and is OUR money they are having such a great time on, I have issues.  If the country wasn’t going down the tubes economically, due to all the stupidity going on in D.C., this wouldn’t be a major problem for me.  But it is.  Shouldn’t the POTUS show some restrain, and concern for the hard working Americans, those that still have a job, that is.

Curiosity.  How will he support his lavish lifestyle when there is no more coming in from the former tax payers, and he’s thrown back to Chicago, or Kenya, or where ever the heck he’s from?
