One More Reason Why The GOP Is Going Down In Flames!
Southerners Should Leave the Republican Party en Masse!

I have been insulted! As a Southerner, as a conservative, I have been insulted. As dueling has been outlawed in this country now, I cannot demand satisfaction on the “field of honor,” but I CAN remove myself from amongst those who decry my presence. And THAT, I SHALL do!
I’ve said it before but for those of you new to our rambling, I have been a Republican since I registered to vote for the first time when I turned 21 years of age in South Carolina. I am now approaching my 7th decade on this earth and it’s a hell of a time to learn that the political party I have supported all my adult life wants me GONE!
If you are a Southerner, and you are a conservative, and you are a registered Republican, may I be so bold as to suggest that you consider going to your local board of elections and changing your registration from Republican to something else. I’d change mine to Independent but here in North Carolina, where the dems rule the state legislature, one cannot register as an Independent. One may register as Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or “Unaffiliated.” I don’t want to be “unaffiliated,” dammit! I want to be an “Independent!”

Oh….wait a minute…..I’m not a Republican anymore, am I. And that elitist, dim bulb, is one of the MAJOR reasons why! If they want to be Democrats, why the hell don’t THEY change parties, instead of dragging the party of Ronald Reagan to a point where it is no longer recognizable? I’m of the mind the ONLY reason some people still call themselves Republicans is BECAUSE of people like Jim DeMint, who stand as strong as they can in the cesspool that is D.C., for the values we all once held dear. Now that the party is mostly made up of Dem Lite (aka RINO), people are leaving in droves, and supporting candidates who actually uphold the principles of conservatism. Sadly, there aren’t very many left in the party, or politics, at all, which is why it’s in the sorry state it is in right now.
As J.D. puts it so eloquently: I offer a heads-up to Republicans who have, as yet, not sipped from the cup of reality: You are going to lose again in 2010 – and – Obama will be returned to office for a second term in 2012!
If the GOP continues on it’s present course, we, as conservatives, will be finding other representation. If I wanted to be a Kool Aid drinking moonbat, I’d register as a freakin’ Democrat!

Yeah….my ancestors came over on the Mayflower and then stayed in New England long enough to sign the Declaration of Independence and then eventually they crossed the prairie to Indiana and then finally Wyoming. So I’m pretty sure that makes me a Yankee but gosh we have been westerners for longer right? Doesn’t that count?
And hey, I do kick some union butt pretty good eh? LOL…

being yankee or from the south has nothing to do with being an AMERICAN, or a republican. I agree most of the Repubs today are RINOs, but what we need to do is not just sit around and bash them, but take the damn party BACK. Lets look at this in another perspective, shall we?
Im sure youve heard of “white flight” and “black menace”, right? Its a joke referring to how “urban” people move out of the inner city, into suburbia and the people there move away. Its a trickle at first, then it happens more rapidly. As the “inner city folk” move into the formerly upper middle class neighborhoods, the crime rate goes up (proven statistic) the first people move out, usually to another suburb even farther out than the previous one, or start new ones altogether. Im from Kansas City (originally) and over a 10+ year period you could see it unfold like a televison show. I could even name the suburbs for you, even down to where everyone moved to specifically. Formerly higher income, clean areas of town with lots of businesses are now filthy, run down, high crime places with no businesses left except gas stations, fast food and liquor stores. All the other businesses got the hell out after being robbed on a continual basis. Please understand Im not being racist, just factual. I can give specifics if needed. Im sure KC isnt the only city like this. Why it happens is an ongoing debate.
Onto my point (finally):
I see politics (mainly the Republican party) like this. As RINOs and Democrats move into the party formerly run by conservatives (like Schwarzenegger, McCain, Geraldo, Colin Powell, to name a few) the real conservatives just pack their shit and run like cowards, most are claiming to be Libertarian now from what I can see.
The problem? We are in a 2 party system, like it or not! You can go make new parties all day long, and youre never going to get elected to anything except maybe the head custodial representative in Mayberry. Think Im wrong? Lets go look at how many votes in ANY election are for anything other then Dems or Repubs. Its laughable.
The solution? Take back the damn party, and “remove” the RINOs and idiots. How?
Theres a multitude of ways, but Id suggest we start by nominating / electing only people who are true conservatives, and condemning PUBLICLY the ones who arent. It seems over the past few years conservatives have kind of “laid there and took it” so to speak, by staying quiet and letting the media and the RINOs dictate what the Republican party stands for and does. Did anyone speak out when McCain was nominated in the primaries? No, but if you go around asking, youll be hard pressed to find any Republican who says they nominated and voted for him. Im sorry this got so long winded, but Ive been wanting to get the particular issue off of my chest. nad btw, its not just Ronald Regans party, its also the party of Teddy Roosevelt, Abraham Lincoln, Ike, Nixon (he was great at one point), and others. No need to let a great party go down in flames over a few idiots.

Rant away. That’s why we have a 1st Amendment, right?
After the NY Slimes endorsed McCain, I could see where it was going. I was a Thompson supporter, and was extremely disappointed that he didn’t fight harder. Don’t think he really wanted to run, but that’s just my opinion. Believe it or not, I know of only ONE person who supported McCain in the primaries, and she was about as clueless as they come. Somehow, she got the idea it was ‘his turn’, and that was good enough for her.
Contrary to what a lot of folks think, Lincoln wasn’t that great of a prez when it comes to freedom, but that’s another story altogether.
The thing about North and South…..a large majority of Southerners still ‘cling to their God and guns’, where as many in the north just handed over control of their lives to other people. I’ve never understood how we got this far down such a road to destruction, but I can guarantee, there are many down here who are more than ready to take back what has been stolen from them, incrementally. How many in the north are willing to take a stand with us? We’d be real happy to have ‘em!
