H/T once again, to Lisa from Facebook for the list of names.

You forgot the California water czar! Yeah….we here in California think it’s pretty incredible too….
I’ve no doubt this list will grow….just like Obummer’s nose.
I wanna know whos gonna be the “Hold Obama and all of Congress responsible for their atrocities enacted upon the constitution” czar?
I think that would be all of us.
This is a rabbit hole Im not sure I wanna go down right now. I think theres a storm coming, it involves people being voted out, but just flat refusing to leave the office….. revolution, in other words.
I fear you just may be right.
fascinating post. But two questions:
1. Is there anything illegal about any of these appointments? Could you point us to a statute or something? Or is this all perfectly legal and ordinary.
2. Haven’t many of the people you mention actually been reviewed and confirmed by the United States Senate? Ex: Education Secretary Duncan, Doug Lute, Dennis Blair, Liz Warren, David Hayes, Ashton Carter, Ron Kirk, etc., What exactly is the complaint with these people?
@nyp You mean other than the fact that none of them are answerable to Congress, which means they aren’t answerable to WE, THE PEOPLE? Uh…yeah… Unconstitutional, IMHO.
If you think Van Jones is a good choice…. Well, as they say, a man is known by the company he keeps.
wow – so you are saying that the Secretary of Education and all those other guys on your list who were confirmed by the Senate earlier this year are unconstitutional? That’s HUGE! How come the MSM hasn’t said anything about this?
The CZARS ya putz. Not the actual ‘secretaries’. Jeeez. Slow, arn’cha! And since it’s Monday, and I’ve been traveling to the point of exhaustion, I’m in a fairly pissy mood. Many of those on the list have NOT been vetted by Congress. Pay attention.
to “Olbroad”: yeah, but most of the people you listed were actually subject to Senate confirmation and were actually confirmed. Like Duncan, Lute, Hayes, Carter, Blair, Sunstein, Kirk, Warren, etc., So should I remove them from my ‘czar’ list? Or should they stay back on, even though they have each been confirmed by the Senate? So confusing!
And is there some kind of law being broken because the President wants to have Larry Summers and Paul Volker as his economic advisors? If there is, we really need to raise our voices loud enough for the MSM to hear us! Don’t you agree?
Are the ‘secretaries’ answerable to Congress and the people, or are they just answerable to the POTUS?
It’s a list. I’m waiting for the czar czar.
Oh, so the fact that half the people on you list were actually confirmed by Congress and half has nothing to do with anything! But didn’t you say up above that …. oh, never mind.
What you seem to be saying is that Presidential appointments of any kind are evil “czars” if their line of reporting responsibility is to the President of the United States. But isn’t that the way it has always been since George Washington?
Maybe the key here is that you think that anyone who appointed to a position by a President for whom you did not vote is an evil “czar.” Now I understand.
No, obviously you DON’T understand!
feel free to clear things up, then, because you have left the impression that you are just pulling things out of your kiester about this “czar” stuff, and I am sure you would not want people to think that.
Yeah, I pulled all the names out of my “kiester” and made up the links to each of the names.
Did you bother to click on ANY of the links I provided? Or did you just look at the list and decide to nitpick? Just curious.
oh, don’t worry Sarah, I didn’t need to click the links. I’ve known most of these people for years by their very impressive reputations. the problem is that the majority of the names on your list were actually confirmed by the United States Senate. So even by your own definition they are not “czars.” The majoirity of the remainer are in positions that were created in previous administration, particularly that of President GW Bush. For example, the new head of the Office of Faith Based Initiatives is in a position created in the last adminstration.
The other problem is that there is not anything at all illegal about any of these positions. Not a thing. Thus your real objection is not the idiotic one that these people are “czars” but merely that you don’t like them and don’t like their policies. You are entitled to that opinion, but elections have consequences, you know.
So it does look after all like we are right back to your kiester.
Who is Sarah?
You find these people ‘impressive’? Shall we turn the country over to Black Nationalists? How about the guy who want to sterilize you? Maybe you want someone telling you that you cannot excel, and therefore, should not be paid to do so.
Yes, elections do have consequences, and we are seeing the results of such foolishness now. It’s really a shame that people of the kook aid brigade did not educate themselves.
You do’t like the President’s appointees. Fine. But please, no more of the wingnuttary nonsense about “czars” and about how it is a violation of the Constititution for the President to have a 3d special assistant in charge of whatever. The stupidity of the “czar” meme makes my teeth ache.
Don’t like it? Tough! I’ll call these socialists what I damn well please. This is STILL the USA, with a 1st Amendment! Your teeth ache because you have problems, and it’s not with what I choose to call his ‘appointees’. Hell, he’s not even “in charge” anyway, he’s just a puppet.
So we have now established that the entire premise of your “czar” post was bogus, that you have no factual responses, and that, instead of doing the decent, honorable thing and admitting your factual error, you resort instead to spittle-flecked invective. That’s enough for my purposes.
ROFLMAO You’re quite amusing, and extremely typical of a dhimmi tool. I gave you the links. You want to debate, I’ll debate. But I’ll also call them what they are, czars. I have no use for anyone in Congress, that couldn’t be bothered to check out their backgrounds, who voted to approve those who need the vote. I have neither the time, nor the inclination to educate you. That YOUR job. Check these people out, below the surface, and if you still think they are qualified….then you are no better than your messiah…who, by the way, is actually more in the OTHER direction.
ah, I keep getting lured back inside the asylum here. You now take the position that Senate-confirmed cabined officers like Arne Duncan or Ron Kirk are nevertheless evil “czars” because, well, whatever ….
Major wingnuttery here.
Keep on drinking your kook aid. Odds are, you’re incapable of grasping reality.
I think this person has established this already, OB. In complete denial of whats ACTUALLY going on in the real world. Wingnuttery would be continuing to blame someone whos been out of office for almost a year, and not the person thats been IN office all that time and done nothing but try to pass legislation like a machine gun to fundamentally change the greatest nation in the world into a copy of some 3rd world communist failures, meanwhile not actually fixing a damn thing and making the economy go down like the Titanic.
Reagan = lowered taxes, cuts spending, economy explodes and everybody prospers
Obama = RAISES taxes, passes legislation that will only KILL jobs, economy shrivels like a delicate flower under a heat lamp, unemployment skyrockets.
GEE, tough to figure out which method works! Take peoples money, or let them keep it….. HMMMMM…..
Shadowblitz: I see that rather than confront the previous falsehoods you move onto new ones.
A question for you: specifically which taxes has President Obama raised?
How ’bout this one?
Really? You want to go here? Ok….
Obama said hes going to raise taxes on anyone making more than 250k a year. Hes been promising that since he started his campaign.
Hes just said last week when talking about whos going to pay for the leftover debt from the Healthcare debacle, that “its about time rich people pay their fair share”, and “no longer get a free ride.”
Yeah, those people that are already paying 80% of the taxes in this country and their free ride. Damn them.
Whos going to pay for that catastrophically huge government spending spree we call the stimulus (porkulus) package? OH, thats right. Taxpayers. The Government doesnt make money. It only gains it by taking it from people who EARNED it.
Also if I were you, I wouldnt accuse others of not confronting issues and jumping to others, i.e. ITS ALL BUSH’s FAULT! WAHHHHHHH!!!!
The more you talk / type, the more your foot sinks into your mouth. Keep going, its quite entertaining.
I am quite pleased that he signed a bill that funded children’s health programs by raising the tobacco tax. that is a win-win. and it is fully consistent with his campaign pledge not to increase the individual income tax on people earning less thatn $250,000. And I am even more pleased that his Stimulus Bill contained substantial tax breaks for individuals earning less than $250,000.
got anything else?
By the way, Shadowblitz, the reason why the wealty pay such a substantial share of tax collections is that they have such an enormous, disproportionate share of the national wealth.
nyp, am I to take by your comment that you wear your ‘socialist’ title proudly?
Oh, and THIS post is JUST for you…..and your fellow pinheads.
No, oldbroad, I am not a socialist at all. I don’t believe in state ownership of the means of production. That is generally a bad thing.
I am a liberal, like the President. I believe in the principles of progressive taxation, as it has existed in this country for almost a hundred years. And, unlike you, I believe that growing and institutionalized income inequality is a genuine issue that needs to be recognized and confronted. That is standard-issue liberalism. It has nothing to do with nationalizing the coal mines, or whatever.
I am sorry that you believe that the majority of American voters who voted for the candidate you disapprove of are all “pinheads.” I suppose I have a higher opinion of my fellow countrymen than you do.
I am quite pleased that many who did vote for him are coming out of their stupor and are now having ‘voter remorse’. It appears to me that you won’t be one of them. There is a difference between a liberal and a socialist. Obama is not a liberal. If he is, then Joseph Stalin was too, and Hitler, and Castro.
You want to take from those who earn, and give it to those who don’t. The wealthy already pay a disproportionate amount, AND give freely to charities. The wealthy are also the ones who provide the jobs. Without them, there ARE NO JOBS. The only jobs that have been created by the porkulus are government, and who pays the government? The taxpayers. THEY HAVE NO MONEY! The people who Obama is surrounding himself with seem to do his thinking for him. I’m quite serious when I ask, who is running the show? Obama has no leadership skills. Congress isn’t writing the bills. Don’t you question the direction he is heading? Taking over car companies, banks….what’s next?
We have a Constitution. One that works real well. Stop using it for toilet paper.
OK, so you believe that the majority of American voters were pinheads, but you think some of them may be recovering. However, if they re-elect the candidate you disapprove of in 2012 the will return to being pinheads. I guess I just have a higher opinon of the American people than you do.
You also believe that the progressive income tax should be abolished. I think that would be unfortunate.
Finally, you also belive that there is no difference between the President of the United States and either Hitler or Stalin. That opinion removes you from any possible political dialoge, for it evidences a severe psychosis.
You don’t see a resemblance between the policies of the Socialist Democrats of Hitler’s era, and the policies of the Obama administration. Please, take off the blinders. Unless you believe the take over of privately owned businesses is a good thing? At this point in time, the only way I see of Obama winning a re-election is through massive fraud. And Democrats do have a talent for FRAUD, don’t they.
I believe in a FAIR TAX system. Nothing about the IRS is in the realm of ‘fair’.
And as for your final statement. I have a feeling the fox is smelling his own hole here.
Why hasn’t congressman/woman, senators, and cabinet members questioned their responsibilities an obligations being reduced to window dressing by the insertion of czars in the Whitehouse? Why are there so many empty traditional positions not been filled by Obama via the normal process, yet he has the greatest number of self appointed czars?
What does the public watch sitcoms instead of paying attention to the government doing what “it wants” instead of the people want?
Wake up Americans
Well Ron, at least one I know of has asked…..Robert Byrd of all people. Now, where the rest of ‘em are on all this, I have no idea. Are they so afraid of Nanny and Obumbler they can’t speak up? It’s mind boggling. This is NOT the country I grew up in!
perhaps they have not questioned Persident Obama’s appointment of assistants because there is nothing either unconstitutional or illegal about what he is doing, just as there nothing either unconstitutional or illegal about President G.W. Bush making similar appointments.
Why do I not see FCC Diversity czar Mark Lloyd not on this list or any updated czar list?
Case in point: Van Jones. THESE are the types he is surrounding himself, and yes, undermining the U.S. Constitution by any means IS unconstitutional. I’m really sorry you aren’t seeing the forest. You are just one cog in a wheel that has turned this once great nation into a country of apologists, weak willed, kiss ass, pussies.
No where in the Constitution does it state that I have to pay for your health care, buy you a house, send your children to college, etc. NO where in the Constitution does it state that I am responsible for YOU at all. Destroying the economy to implement your socialist agenda IS unconstitutional. Aided and abetted by the weasels in Congress, who have usurped powers NOT granted to them by said Constitution.
I am sorry that you advocate abolishing Medicare, Social Security and student loan programs. I happen to disagree.
I absolutely want to get rid of every single government run program that has shoved this country into debt, and turned once hard working Americans into dependents. How about YOU save your hard earned dollars for your retirement, and I’ll save mine? The “New Deal” was a raw deal, for the American people.
You are perfectly entitled to these views. I just want to make sure that anyone reading this blog realizes that you wish to abolish Social Security, Medicare, the mortgage interest deduction, the charitable tax deduction, federal disability payments and student loan guarantees. As much as I disagree with you, it is good that you are so forthrignt – just as the Congressional Republicans have been forthright about wanting to eliminate Medicare.
@Bev Hmmm….that’s a real good question. Will do some snooping. Thanks.
nyp, are you so utterly dense as you appear? I have stated, repeatedly, that I do not believe such a system is in the best interest of this country, or her people. Anyone who reads this blog on a regular basis already KNOWS! I didn’t just appear for your convenience, y’know. Oh, and FYI….I’m not a Republican.
