    2 things:
    1. I wish we could keep ourselves a little more mature and stop calling liberals names like “libtards”. I might call them Dims or something occasionally, and I should stop. Calling people childish names certainly isnt going to get them to listen to reason. We need to keep ourselves on a higher level than them. Did anyone ever see or hear Reagan calling them libtards? Anytime I see a conserv. and a lib get into a heated discussion, the lib is always first if not the only one to call names and ridicule the other person. We need to keep it that way. Be the ones with class. However, I think Obama should be fair game. were not going to sway him, no matter what we do. But if youre a regular person, sitting on the fence, maybe even leaning a bit towards Democrats, and you hear someone on the right calling them “libtards” or some other colorful name, you probably just got pushed even farther away from the facts and conservatism, because youre distracted by something as trivial as namecalling.

    2. I wish people would also leave Brett Favre alone. If the man still wants to play theres nothing wrong with it, and whining and making fun of him like were all back in grade school isnt going to accomplish anything. The PACKERS and the MEDIA kept hounding him every off season, the second the season was over for the Packers it was all: “Hey Brett! Now youre old, you gonna retire?? huh?huh? huh? huh?” The Packers FORCED him to give them a decision, so he retired. But he wasnt really ready to quit. I agree he could have been classier about it, but were not in his shoes. Leave the man alone and let him enjoy the twilight of his career. If I were a packers fan, Id be more annoyed with Packer management and ESPN than I would Brett. They even told him he CANT come back and play. Lets grow up a bit.

    1. Having been called all manner of names, much worse than libtards, I don’t think so.  It fits a large majority on the left.   What people title their posts is totally up to them.

    2. Brett Favre put himself out there, making a laughing stock of himself.  If my son in law wants to make fun of him, he’s got a lot of company doing so.  The guy played “will he or won’t he” for a long time with Packer fans.  These people take their football VERY seriously (which is frightening, lemme tell ya) and they don’t much like some ego inflated yahoo playing with their affections.  Heh.

  3. Chris from Racine. 23 August 2009, 9:18 am

In my opinion, Brett is an attention hungry diva who is hooked on drama. Fine – if he wants to play, let him. But the way he’s gone about it for no less than four years has forever tarnished his legacy. And most Packer fans know that this latest stunt is in large part an attempt to “get even” with Ted Thompson. These fans that supported him for sixteen years? The hell with ‘em. He could care less.

The good thing in all of this is that watching the Pack and the Bears play the Vikings will be all the more fun! ;)

  4. olbroad. 23 August 2009, 9:25 am

And this coming from a misplaced Bears fan.  LOL

So 2 wrongs make a right? ;) Making fun of one public figure is one thing, but calling large groups of people we interact with childish names, isnt going to have a happy ending. Im just making a suggestion, Im sure noone will listen or even try it, which is sad. We should lead by example, not act like children along with the children. Im bad about it too, but Im just a strategist, and name calling isnt a good strategy :) Im in it to win it, baby.

oh yeah, Im from KC, so I know overly excited fans. Almost had a GIRL punch me in the face over the Chiefs once.
Like I said, it was mostly the MEDIA to blame here, Ive been watching this little soap opera for years myself. You didnt have to live in GB to see it. THEY (ESPN and such) would start the “will Favre retire this year???” drama about mid season for the past 8 years or so. Imagine being Brett for aminute. You know how many people hound him and harp at him about various things on a day to day basis? Sportscasters, mainstream media, fans, non-fans, family, friends, etc. If people had left him alone, there wouldnt haver been any drama, me thinks. Packers fans are just pissy b/c they screwed up and lost the best thing they ever had. >:)

  6. Sam Pierce. 23 August 2009, 9:55 am

I’m all for calling a libtard a libtard. There is enough PC garbage festering in the political landfill as it is.

  7. olbroad. 23 August 2009, 10:01 am

    Heh.  Exactly, Sam!  :D

  8. Shadowblitz70. 23 August 2009, 6:17 pm

Im sorry you totally missed my point. Oh well. I even said
“Im just making a suggestion, Im sure noone will listen or even try it, which is sad.”
Guess I hit that nail on the head. I just had this “nutty notion” that we could be the classy ones, rise above it…. nothing to do with being PC. *sigh* I tried.

  9. olbroad. 23 August 2009, 6:33 pm

Well, Shadow, unlike many of the libtards, I don’t go to their sites and call them 4 and 5 lettered names…..and don’t know too many on the right who do.  So, I’d say we were already above the fray.  :D

  10. Ick. 25 August 2009, 10:05 am

Scanning through the comments I get the impression I should stop making fun of Brett Farve?  Wonder whatever happened to my freedom of speech? Oh there it is!  While people are coming to other people sites and leaving opinions, they should remember the fact that EVERYONE has an opinion, and they have the right to express it whenever or however they see fit.
As far as Favre goes you can say *oh leave poor Brett alone* but your not looking at the picture as a whole.  The last time I checked football was a TEAM sport and no one is bigger then the entire team, and or franchise.  God forbid the Packers asked Brett to make a decision so they knew what they needed to be doing going forward into the next season. Favre could have retired a legend. Now he retires looking more like a hired gun rather then a true legend.  Stats only make half a legend. The other half is how did they play the game,  what did they do in the community, how did they treat people,  you know things that actually matter a whole lot more then stats.
If you actually took the time to read any number of my Favre posts then you would see that I merely point out the facts.  I don’t just randomly start calling people names.
Just for clarification should I not call Plexico Burress a dumbass for shooting himself in the leg? He now finds himself heading for a jail cell instead of a football field.  Should I have not said anything about Roger Clemens lying to congress, most importantly his fans about his obvious steroid use?  Should I have left Barry Bonds alone also? Seriously where is the line in your eyes? Or is this one of those situations where you hand pick who you want to speak up in behalf of?
Now if you excuse me I need to go write a post about Reggie Bush and the fact that he can’t run between the tackles, is injury prone (these are facts supported by watching him play)  and IN MY OPINION he is highly overrated!
