Healthy Warned Against Daily Dose Of Aspirin

The drug, which reduces the risk of blood clots, can be taken by patients who have already suffered a heart attack or are at risk of one, according to NHS Direct.

Millions of others are also believed to take a daily dose as an “insurance policy” in the hope of guarding against heart trouble.

But the routine use of aspirin by healthy people to prevent heart problems “cannot be supported”, professors from the Aspirin for Asymptomatic Atherosclerosis (AAA) said.

Their study found that the risk of cardiovascular problems had to be set against the increased risk of internal bleeding.

So, am I suppose to be taking one cuz my doc says so? Or is she one of those ‘eveeel’ folks who wants to hike up health care costs? Hmmm… Whatever. It’s flavored, chewable, baby aspirin. I count it as my evening snack. :D

i had my husband Doc read this “research” and he just snorted and laughed. He takes aspirin every day as do I and we sure aren’t going to stop. Next week these brainiacs are going to be telling you that SUDDENLY stopping taking aspirin will cause your brain to explode…..

I had a clot on my 20th birthday, hit the lung, blah, blah, blah. It sucked. They wanted me on that rat poison for the rest of my life and there was a heart guy that couldn’t wait to put an umbrella in me. I turned down the umberella and took the poison for a few years untill I realized that being on it from 20 to 80 is probably bad for you.

They told me it was genetic, that I was toast if I stopped seeing them blah, blah, blah. It’s been 9 years and I’m fine. If I cramp, which has been once or twice I take asprin. IT WORKS.

Ya know, almost the same thing happened to the Mr.  Kind of freaked me out when he ended up spending 5 days in the hospital.  He took the rat poison for 5 years.  The last time he went to get his blood tests, they wanted to know why he was still taking the stuff. Odd.  So, now, he just wears that sexy pressure sock.  :)   And all is well.  He probably doesn’t even need to do that anymore, but I think he’s gotten so use to it, he might feel down right nekkid!

I remember the socks. Talk about support, I felt like I was on springs.
On an unrelated note, I took some melatonin the other night. I dunno if you ever took the stuff but I had crazy dream where I was walking down a concrete ditch like the ones between houses in the valley I used to walk when I was a kid. I came to a yard without a fence and there was a peacock and the Mr. I guess with a weird gun thing. I asked him if he was going to get him and he said hell yeah I’m gonna get him. Haha, he fired this crazy lightning bolt out of the gun and fried the bird.

Nice yard by the way. :)

ROFLMAO  Did the bird land on a serving platter?  With taters and carrots?  Heh.   Actually take that stuff every night.  Have issues.  I don’t think I’ve ever had such a dream, but I have been known to have a few odd ones.  *snicker*

Hmmm….maybe I should try some of those.  I could use some serious spring.  :?
