Blue Dogs Bark

10 August 2009, 8:19 am. Comments Off. Filed under Dhimmicrats, Feckless Weasels, Health Care.

We don’t live in Mississippi, but we are close enough to know what’s going on via the radio. The only station we can pick up really well comes out of Corinth, MS, so we know more about that state than we do about the doings in TN (what’s up with that?). One of the Reps from down there is Travis Childers, a Democrat. Now, while I’ve heard a small number of good things relating to Mr Childers, the vast majority of reports seem to indicate he’s a typical Dem. In a recent interview with a newspaper, he was asked a few questions. Here are just a sampling:

Are there any misconceptions about the Democrats’ healthcare plan that need to be corrected?

There a lot of myths out there being spread by those who enjoy spreading falsehoods. I would urge people to go to the Web site and look at the bill. Just because someone sends you something on the Internet, that doesn’t mean that it’s true.

This is only a proposed bill. There are about 10 steps before a bill will ever get to the President’s desk for his signature.

You’ll excuse me when I ask…..just what are these misconceptions?  Anyone who has bothered to read the bill that is being shoved at WE, The People, will know there are NO misconceptions.

Can you describe what you refer to as “myths” that are being circulated?

I don’t want to get off into the weeds, but (citing an example) that they’re trying to euthanize the elderly. That’s ridiculous. I’m amazed, honestly, that people would fall into a trap and believe that stuff. Please look at the bill. Do not believe mess that people send across the Internet with nothing to back it up.

No sir, YOU look at the bill!  Have you even bothered to read it?  You’ve got plenty of time now that you will be off on your “junket” to….where is it…Israel?  Bill footed by the taxpayers, naturally.  Piece of advice….they’ve got some really nice kubbutzim that offer all the amenities you could need, plus are much less expensive than your average hotels.  Save a few bucks for the folks of Mississippi!

Do you think some people are using the bill’s description of “end-of-life” issues to reach that conclusion? The Blue Dogs, in your own proposal, also refer to “end-of-life” issues. Maybe that definition deserves further explanation.

Well, it probably does. But here’s the thing: we think the patients should be involved and know what their options are. We just think a patient deserves to know what their options are in their end-of-life care and, quite frankly, doctors are not compensated to sit down and answer questions right now. And they should be.

A doctor’s time and advice are his stock in trade as well, and we think that should be an allowable charge for a physician to sit down with a person when the end of life is near.

“Probably”?  Don’t you know?  Right now, patients are already involved in the decisions concerning their health, we don’t need some yahoo in D.C. making those decisions.  Doctors discuss options, help us decide the best course of action.  When the end is near, WE already decide which direction to take.  And in case ya weren’t aware, those doctors DO get paid for their services.  Are you really this stupid, or do you just play a moron for the benefit of your masters?!

Getting back on track about “myths” being spread, can you cite any misinformation put out by the Republicans, or conservative talk radio, that deserves to be refuted?

I’m not going to address those. You know what those are. You’re an educated person. You know what every one of them are. I’m not going to address that.

These are the things you NEED to address.  Obviously, you can’t, because you don’t even know!  I can safely say, there are more people out here in the REAL world who have read that bill than there are up there in The Swamp!

What I’m asking is if that’s untrue, why not get the word out –

Here’s the thing. All anyone has to do is pull that bill and look at it. The people of North Mississippi are smart…You know better than some of those things and you shouldn’t be trying to publish stuff like that.

Tsk tsk!  “How dare you do your job, and actually ask pertinent questions and REPORT!”  Obviously, the folks of North Mississippi are a whole lot smarter than their elected rep!  Since the questions are being asked, and most people already know more of what’s in that bill than ALL of Congress combined.

And there you have it!  The typical Democrat response to concerns of the folks who pay their bills.  To give Childers credit, he claims he is totally against taxpayer funded abortions.  This is a good thing.  What’s not so good….most of the so called representatives are just as clueless as he on this bill, and evidently, don’t give a flying flip what the people do, and DO NOT want!

The Bane of Fond du Lac Libs

9 August 2009, 9:37 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Friends & Family.

Over the years, I’ve posted a few opinions printed in the Fond du Lac Reporter, written by one of the most fiesty ladies I’ve ever met, Ole (Viola) Sheppard.  She was always the heart and soul of the Fond du Lac Republican Party, and I have been proud to know her.  Over the last few months, her health has begun to decline, and it’s my understanding this dear sweet lady is not long for this world.

I want the family to know they are all in my prayers at this very difficult time.  I had really hope to pop in for a short visit while we were in the area, but I guess the Good Lord has other plans.  I’ve no doubt, when she arrives, the angels will sing in joy.

God Bless you Miss Ole.  You are a true treasure.

Dr Adams Addresses BO’s Oblivity

Barry, Barry, Quite Contrary
by Mike Adams

Hello Barry (info@barackobama.com):

I want to express my deep disappointment with your continued refusal to address my questions about the new health care reform bill currently being pushed through Congress. A few days ago, I sent you several dozen questions about the bill. You did not answer a single one of them. Instead, you keep sending me form emails.

I’ve cut and pasted your last form email below with some comments in between key paragraphs. I hope you’ll not ignore this response in the same way you have ignored my previous questions.

Friend –

Members of Congress have been home for just a few days, and they’re already facing increased pressure from insurance companies, special interests, and partisan attack organizations that are spending millions to block health insurance reform.

Barry, how much money are you spending to advance health insurance reform? And, would you characterize these emails you are sending as coming from an “attack organization”? I assume that www.BarackObama.com is an organization. And, in every email you send, you attack those of us who oppose your agenda. Were you elected to serve the people or to attack people who resist your attempts to pass legislation they oppose? I can’t imagine how you think you will persuade me by sending me these condescending emails.

From The American Thinker

8 August 2009, 10:17 am. Comments Off. Filed under Moonbats & Other Animals, The ONE.

The Twelve Steps of Obama Anonymous

1. We admitted we were powerless over his appealing aura and that our lives and our nation had become unmanageable.
2. We came to believe that powers such as democracy, liberty, loyalty to nation, and independence were greater than personal charm and empty promises and could restore us to sanity.
3. We made a decision to turn away our will and lives from the false messiah as we understood him.
4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of the shallow reasons for voting for him.
5. We admitted to ourselves and to friends and family members (who had serious concerns about an inexperienced person with shameful associates being qualified for the most important position in the nation) the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. We were entirely ready to read the Constitution and learn more about the Founding Fathers and the principles of this nation in order to remove these defects from our character.
7. We cleared our thinking so that we neither discounted associations with rabid anti-Semites nor found convoluted rationalizations for such associations convincing.
8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed (people who use banks, people who drive cars, people who might get sick and die in a nation with a single medical provider, Israelis who are left to fend for themselves against the murderous intentions of the Iranian regime, the Iranian protestors whose cries we ignored, Muslim women, whose abusers we protected in the name of cultural diversity, bloggers who were reported to the authorities for contradicting the official White house position. Radio talk-show hosts whose criticisms were silenced by the “Fairness Law.” The list is too long to complete. ) and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others. We spoke up at town hall meetings to protect our rights as Americans. We lobbied our senators and representatives for legislation that would re-strengthen the almost severed ties between Israel and the U.S. We were relentless in our demands that this nation not blame Israel for the lack of peace in the Middle East, but put the full force of our power on Tehran which threatened the existence of the Jewish State of Israel. We insisted that our elected officials and media not appease our enemies by refusing to even name them and undermine the security of our country and the world by expressing more concern for terrorists than for their victims.
10. We continued to take personal inventory, read the Weekly Standard and the American Thinker and watch Fox News to keep ourselves from succumbing to the pandering, paid for propagandists that make up much of the major media. We volunteered to help and financially supported candidates who had a strong record of upholding the best interests of the U.S. and its allies. We applied facts and reasoning to the comedic outbursts of Bill Maher, Al Frankin and Nancy Pelosi and when they were wrong, we promptly admitted it.
11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our spiritual contact with God, as we understood Him/Her, praying only for wisdom to stop dismissing those with strong religious affiliations as “kooks” and start showing respect for the Judeo-Christian underpinnings of our nation’s success.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these Steps, we tried to carry this message to Obamamaniacs, and to practice these principles in all our affairs so that the United States of America could survive until the next election.

Minding my own business, warming up my cup of coffee, I glance out the front window, and what do I see???

dumb bird1

Well, naturally, me being me, I have to ‘discourage’ that stupid bird from coming up on the porch, so off I go, in my jammies and a pair of flip flops. Jammies, not a problem. Flip flops? Not such a great idea. Did you know that grass is still damp even at 10 in the morning? Well, it is at our house this morning. And it needs to be cut too. The taller the grass, the more wet my jammie bottoms got, and since I never went out to rake the last time it was cut, naturally I get covered in grass clippings. All because of that stupid bird!

dumb bird2

Cool tail feathers, eh? heh heh heh I have been very hesitant to let the Mr shoot him, since it’s the “neighbor’s” very last one. Can’t imagine what happened to the other six.

I finally convinced him he didn’t really want to be over here, I think. While I was out playing peacock chaser, I came across this, that looked a whole lot cooler in person than it does in the picture.

Just in case ya can’t tell, that’s a spider web, all covered in dew. While I detest spiders, they sure do make some cool webs!

Oh, and by the way……I hate that freakin’ bird!!!!

A Turnabout in France

7 August 2009, 8:30 pm. 2 Comments. Filed under Health Care, Socialism.

France Fights Universal Care’s High Cost

France claims it long ago achieved much of what today’s U.S. health-care overhaul is seeking: It covers everyone, and provides what supporters say is high-quality care. But soaring costs are pushing the system into crisis. The result: As Congress fights over whether America should be more like France, the French government is trying to borrow U.S. tactics.

In recent months, France imposed American-style “co-pays” on patients to try to throttle back prescription-drug costs and forced state hospitals to crack down on expenses. “A hospital doesn’t need to be money-losing to provide good-quality treatment,” President Nicolas Sarkozy thundered in a recent speech to doctors.

And service cuts — such as the closure of a maternity ward near Ms. Cuccarolo’s home — are prompting complaints from patients, doctors and nurses that care is being rationed. That concern echos worries among some Americans that the U.S. changes could lead to rationing.

“The problem with Socialism is that eventually you run out of other people’s money.” – Margaret Thatcher

So, the French are running out of other people’s money. Wouldn’t you think that those bozos up in D.C. capable from learning such lessons? Seriously. What is the point of ‘providing’ health care for every man, woman, and child, if there are no facilities for them to be provided? How will doctors, nurses, techs, even right down to the lunch room workers and janitors going to be paid? Will closing such facilities put more people out of work? Does anyone EVER think about the long term effects of the endless ridiculous crap that keep flying out of D.C.?

Like it or not, PRIVATE enterprise works!  Don’t like BIG business?  Too bad.  Who do you think provides jobs?  Someone had an idea.  They put that idea into action.  They get paid for the action, product, whatever.  They hire people.  Food is produced, bought, cooked, all using inovation of someone who had an idea.

Without those who used their brains, there would be no health care.  Penicilin would never have been created.  Millions would have died.  There would be no vaccines for polio.  More people my age and older, would be dead, in wheel chairs, or still in an iron lung, if such a thing had even been invented.  How about something as simple as aspirin?

And take a good look at transplants.  There was no such thing when I was a young sprout, but a doctor named Christian Bernard took a chance, and the rest is history.  I wouldn’t say that heart transplants are common place, but they sure are a lot more common than they were 40 years ago.  If Dr Michael DeBakey hadn’t worked his hind end off, there would be no patch graft angioplasty, and millions would have died.  If we had had socialized medicine, do you really believe they would have spent their blood, sweat, and no doubt tears, to work so hard for the betterment of mankind?  I sure as hell don’t.  Why would they?  Yes, it’s nice to do such things with no expectation of ‘returns’, but financial reward helps a whole lot when you look at the big picture.  How would they have paid their research aids, and even their phone bills, if there had been no financial outcome, as well as the personal satisfaction of a job well done?

This bill they are trying to foist down the throats of us average Americans is not the answer.  The answer is for government to get out of private business, and that includes health care.  The lies the Obama administration about health care not being rationed, are just that…..lies.  Now, I’m not real sure if they are intentional lies on his part, but it sure as hell is on the part of the rest of his cronies.

Politics and Lies…..

…..but I repeat myself.

The White House Strikes Back

An overwhelming majority of Americans (72%) don’t believe President Barack Obama will keep his promise to overhaul the health care system without adding to the federal deficit, according to a study released yesterday by the Quinnipiac University. According to Gallup: “Americans are being asked to approve major new health care expenditures at a time when they are not yet convinced that the last massive outlay of government money — the stimulus — has made an impact.”

Yet the White House and their allies are trying to convince the media that the anger at townhalls across the county is being manufactured by special interests in Washington.  At a press conference, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) called the protests “phony”, holding up a swatch of Astroturf  to illustrate his point. And the White House is telling supporters “to punch back twice as hard” at anybody who dares to question their policies. Unfortunately, some Obama supporters are taking that call literally.

At a townhall last night in St. Louis, Kenneth Gladney, 38, a local conservative activist  said he was attacked by Obama supporters, one of whom used a racial slur against him before the attack. From the emergency room at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center, Gladney, who is black, told the St. Louis Dispatch: “It just seems there’s no freedom of speech without being attacked.” In Tampa, Florida, protester Barry Osteen was pushed in the face by Democratic Club Treasurer Karen Miracle, and union members allegedly assaulted another concerned citizen. Both of the events were organized by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Asked about the possibility of people concerned about Obama showing up at their event, in Tampa, SEIU spokeswoman Kim Diehl told the St. Petersburg Times: “We’re prepared. We have strategies to deal with it if it should come up.”

As this video plainly shows, one of those strategies is to lock out dissenters while letting in purple- shirted SEIU members. The desire to silence dissent on Obamacare goes all the way to the top. At a Democratic rally in Virginia last night, the President told supporters: “I don’t want the folks who created the mess doing a lot of talking. I want them to just get out of the way so we can clean up the mess.”

Not everyone on the left has been so quick to silence the opposition. In direct contradiction to claims by Sens. Harry Reid (D-NV) and Dick Durbin (D-IL), Sen. Claire McCaskill tweeted last night: “I disagree that the people showing concern over some health care proposals are ‘manufactured’ Real folks, strong opinions.” And Sen. Ben Cardin told Fox News: “People have strong views about health care reform. The overwhelming majority of Americans want to participate. They want to know how it affects them, and what it will do with their health insurance through what it will do with their health care costs. Those are legitimate questions.”

Cardin and McCaskill are dead-on. The American people have every right to be concerned about taking a leftist turn on health care. Just look at France. The Wall Street Journal reports today that the soaring costs of France’s state health insurer, Assurance Maladie, are causing complaints from patients, doctors, and nurses that care is being rationed. Exploding costs and rationed health care are the exact same concerns that Americans are voicing about Obamacare at townhalls across the country. Instead of silencing their critics, the White House should begin listening to their concerns.

The only “phony” outrage I’ve seen is coming from the likes of Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and their clones.  And while you’re at it, check out THIS at silent E‘s!

One More Reason Why The GOP Is Going Down In Flames!

7 August 2009, 8:20 am. 13 Comments. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Opinion, Politics.

Southerners Should Leave the Republican Party en Masse!
by J.D. Longstreet

Just a snippet:

If you need or want any more proof that the Republican Party’s fondest desire is to be rid of us Southern Conservatives – all you have to do is read the article entitled: “Them Dang Southerners” by Kathleen Parker. You’ll find it HERE.

I have been insulted! As a Southerner, as a conservative, I have been insulted. As dueling has been outlawed in this country now, I cannot demand satisfaction on the “field of honor,” but I CAN remove myself from amongst those who decry my presence. And THAT, I SHALL do!

I’ve said it before but for those of you new to our rambling, I have been a Republican since I registered to vote for the first time when I turned 21 years of age in South Carolina. I am now approaching my 7th decade on this earth and it’s a hell of a time to learn that the political party I have supported all my adult life wants me GONE!

If you are a Southerner, and you are a conservative, and you are a registered Republican, may I be so bold as to suggest that you consider going to your local board of elections and changing your registration from Republican to something else. I’d change mine to Independent but here in North Carolina, where the dems rule the state legislature, one cannot register as an Independent. One may register as Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or “Unaffiliated.” I don’t want to be “unaffiliated,” dammit! I want to be an “Independent!”

Read the whole post hereAnd make sure you read that bit of garbage from Kathleen Parker too!

Well, now….isn’t that precious!  A damn Yankee insulting the backbone of conservatism.  How sweet.

Ok, enough of the niceties!  That b*tch done pissed off this ol’ Southern lady!

Oh….wait a minute…..I’m not a Republican anymore, am I.  And that elitist, dim bulb, is one of the MAJOR reasons why!  If they want to be Democrats, why the hell don’t THEY change parties, instead of dragging the party of Ronald Reagan to a point where it is no longer recognizable?  I’m of the mind the ONLY reason some people still call themselves Republicans is BECAUSE of people like Jim DeMint, who stand as strong as they can in the cesspool that is D.C., for the values we all once held dear.  Now that the party is mostly made up of Dem Lite (aka RINO), people are leaving in droves, and supporting candidates who actually uphold the principles of conservatism.  Sadly, there aren’t very many left in the party, or politics, at all, which is why it’s in the sorry state it is in right now.

As J.D. puts it so eloquently: I offer a heads-up to Republicans who have, as yet, not sipped from the cup of reality: You are going to lose again in 2010 – and – Obama will be returned to office for a second term in 2012!

If the GOP continues on it’s present course, we, as conservatives, will be finding other representation. If I wanted to be a Kool Aid drinking moonbat, I’d register as a freakin’ Democrat!

HEY!  PARKER!
