Radicals Wrote Failed Stimulus

Policymaking: If the stimulus isn’t working, perhaps it’s because it was largely written by a collection of leftist interest groups called the Apollo Alliance that counts among its directors a co-founder of the Weather Underground.

Does anyone see a pattern here?

The Labor Department reported Friday that 42 states lost more jobs than they gained in August, and that 14 plus Washington, D.C., reported unemployment rates of 10% or more.

Michigan’s rate rose to 15.2%, highest in the nation. Nevada, represented by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, is second with 13.2%. California, home of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, is tied for fourth with Oregon at 12.2%.

Wait a minute….I thought that piece of crap was absolutely necessary to save the world….RIGHT NOW! Isn’t that Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the others claimed? The heck with reading the bill! The heck with who actually wrote it! It doesn’t matter that it’s Congress’ job to write bills, and not some outside criminal element, right?

Clearly, the stimulus bill that no congressman read is not working. As it turns out, no congressman may have written it either. It’s largely the creation of a coalition of leftist organizations called the Apollo Alliance, whose primary interests are saving the Earth, environmental justice and redistributing wealth. They are not friends of job-creating capitalism.

How do we reverse the damage done by the stupidity of this current Congress? Which, by the way, for those who have forgotten, took over in 2006. How do we put a stop to the unconstitutional take over by these feckless groups?

“We’ve talked about moving forward on these ideas for decades,” Reid is quoted as saying. “The Apollo Alliance has been an important factor in helping us develop and execute a strategy that makes great progress on these goals and in motivating the public to support them.”

Ok, let’s face it! Harry Reid is a complete and utter moron! If you people out there in Nevada re-elect him, I vote we kick y’all out of the union! No one can be that stupid, over and over and over….can they?

Wade Rathke, founder of Acorn, was also on the Apollo board, as is Gerald Hudson, vice president of the Service Employees International Union, which provides the shock troops in the movement to pass government-run health care.

John Podesta, former chief of staff to President Clinton and now president of the leftist Center for American Progress, also sits on the Apollo board. Each day his group sends out talking points to the left side of the blogosphere. Mark Lloyd, diversity czar at the Federal Communications Commission, was a senior fellow at CAP.

THIS is the company The ONE has been keeping for years, and we are suppose to believe he has America’s best interest at heart? Give me a freakin’ break!

Perhaps the most bizarre aspect of all this is that an even more radical Jones (no relation) has a relationship with the Apollo Alliance. Jeff Jones was a domestic terrorist in the ’60s and a fugitive from justice throughout the ’70s who, with Bill Ayers, helped found the Weather Underground in 1969.

Obama put the future of our nation into the hands of terrorists! How’s that hopey/changey workin’ for y’all?

As a consultant to WDI, Jones helps write the grant proposals for federal stimulus dollars — funds authorized in the bill that Apollo helped write — all to ensure that taxpayer dollars end up in the hands of groups that share Apollo’s political agenda.

Welcome to government of the activist, by the activist and for the activist.

FACT CHECK: Coverage requirement enforced with tax

Memo to President Barack Obama: It’s a tax. Obama insisted this weekend on national television that requiring people to carry health insurance — and fining them if they don’t — isn’t the same thing as a tax increase. But the language of Democratic bills to revamp the nation’s health care system doesn’t quibble. Both the House bill and the Senate Finance Committee proposal clearly state that the fines would be a tax.

And the reason the fines are in the legislation is to enforce the coverage requirement.

“If you put something in the Internal Revenue Code, and you tell the IRS to collect it, I think that’s a tax,” said Clint Stretch, head of the tax policy group for Deloitte, a major accounting firm. “If you don’t pay, the person who’s going to come and get it is going to be from the IRS.”

You can try to spin any way you want, but this whole bill is nothing more than one HUGE tax increase for EVERYONE! If hard earned funds are being drawn out of my pocket without my permission, it’s theft. Well, you don’t have my permission to take one single dime from me to pay for someone else’s bills.

Have you read HR 3200? I have. It’s nothing but a gigantic tax bill. In reality, it has no more to do with health care than HR 2454 has to do with climate or energy issues. It’s ALL about control! Of you!  Of me.  Of our children.  Of our grandchildren.

In an interview that aired Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Obama insisted that the insurance requirement is not a tax.

“For us to say that you’ve got to take a responsibility to get health insurance is absolutely not a tax increase,” the president said. “What it’s saying is…that we’re not going to have other people carrying your burdens for you anymore.

On the contrary, that is EXACTLY what you are asking of the American people.

By the way Mr President……..

Perhaps, unlike Matthews, intelligent people who actually READ books aren’t too fond of what he considers “worth reading”, NOT worth the money? Or, perhaps, they have found nothing to recommend said books to their friends? Therefore, they aren’t being bought? Just a thought.

HR 3567

21 September 2009, 9:06 am. Comments Off. Filed under Congress, Feckless Weasels, House of Representatives.

They call it “Respect for Marriage Act of 2009“, but it is anything but!

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the ‘Respect for Marriage Act of 2009’.

SEC. 2. REPEAL OF SECTION ADDED TO TITLE 28, UNITED STATES CODE, BY SECTION 2 OF THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT.

Section 1738C of title 28, United States Code, is repealed, and the table of sections at the beginning of chapter 115 of title 28, United States Code, is amended by striking the item relating to that section.

SEC. 3. MARRIAGE RECOGNITION.

Section 7 of title 1, United States Code, is amended to read as follows:

‘Sec. 7. Marriage

‘(a) For the purposes of any Federal law in which marital status is a factor, an individual shall be considered married if that individual’s marriage is valid in the State where the marriage was entered into or, in the case of a marriage entered into outside any State, if the marriage is valid in the place where entered into and the marriage could have been entered into in a State.

‘(b) In this section, the term ‘State’ means a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or any other territory or possession of the United States.’.

In other words, screw the people who have rejected ‘gay marriage’.  You know, those folks who have overwhelmingly shot it down, state by state, on election day.  Obviously, the title of the bill has nothing at all to do with respecting marriage, or the voters.  This is just one more example of a small minority of people undermining the foundations of our nation.

How, you ask?  Well, I’ll be happy to tell you.  This house being build on sand is going to collapse.   Calling a relationship between a man and a man, or a woman and a woman, marriage, and forcing acceptance down the throats of the American people (no pun intended), does not promote unity.  When the vast majority of Americans profess a belief in God, do you erect a straw statue, and force them to kneel at it’s feet?

Defense of Marriage Act was signed into law by Bill Clinton in 1996.

1. No state (or other political subdivision within the United States) needs to treat a relationship between persons of the same sex as a marriage, even if the relationship is considered a marriage in another state.
2. The federal government defines marriage as a legal union exclusively between one man and one woman.
