I didn’t think it was possible for these people to be any more clueless, or classless, but this really takes the cake!

This afternoon the President and First Lady Mrs. O attended a Medal of Honor ceremony for U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Jared C. Monti who was killed in Afghanistan in June 2006. For the occasion, Mrs. O debuted a new floral frock in a bold, red rose print, accessorized with green kitten heels and chandelier earrings. (source)

Can you imagine the reaction if “First Lady Mrs. B” had worn such a ……ummm….. LOUD dress for such a solemn occasion????

Been A Bit Busy!

20 September 2009, 2:00 am. 8 Comments. Filed under Friends & Family, Opinion, Politics.

After 2 absolutely fabulous days, I finally got to sit and down go through my emails.  Hint:  Do NOT let your emails go for 3 days!  Do you know how long it takes to go through over 300 emails?  Sad to say, I HAD to delete quite a few cuz there was NO way I’d ever get through them all.  Don’t think there was anything extremely important though, so it should be ok……I hope!

I finally got my pictures transferred from my camera to the computer.  I’m extremely annoyed that anytime I zoom in, they get REALLY dark.  I have no idea how to fix that problem.  :(   Oh well, maybe someday, I’ll get technical, but I wouldn’t count on it.  :?

Anyways…..these pictures are from Friday’s events(18th).  If I had been able to see straight last night, I could have managed to take some time to at least get them on the computer.  You have NO idea how tired I was….with good reason.  :)

P9180514 Now, I don’t care what you think about this guy, but I have to tell you, he was one of the nicest guys I’ve met in a long time.  He never asked to be shoved into the limelight, but from as best I can tell, he’s handling it quite well.  He stood around and talked with us for quite a while.

I don’t know. Is it me, or does Dan and Joe look a bit fuzzy? Granted I’m seeing just about fuzzy right now, but hey….it’s not suppose to translate to the actual picture….is it? Dan & Joe

P9180516 Obviously, this is Michelle Malkin and Joe, but I have NO idea who’s tongue that is, or why it’s poked out at that odd angle.  :?

A few hours ago, I could have told you her name, but considering it’s way past my bedtime, and the gray cells have already gone to sleep… Someone help me out here! P9180510 (Ooops…sorry Julia! Thanks to Deirdre for setting me straight!)

P9180517 Whoo hoo! Lunchtime. Fairly tasty too.

And came our speakers, mistress of ceremonies, who’s name escapes me, Robin Smith, Liz Cheney, Michelle Malkin, and Rep. Marsha Blackburn.

I snuck out before the forum was over to head back to my motel room for some much needed down time, and to change clothes for the cocktail party. No one told me I could have worn jeans. :? Oh well.

waiting in line Folks waiting in line to get their books signed by Michelle.

I had already gotten mine. :D me & Michell Malkin

A very pleasant time was had by all.

Problem is, they didn’t have any munchies! So, instead of using my brain, and coming back to my room to hit the sack, I joined about 20 other ladies for dinner at the Stock-Yard Steakhouse.
dinner

I’ll be perfectly honest, this place may be one of the “top ten steakhouses”, but I’ve definitely had better, and CHEAPER! Sheesh! They think VERY highly of their meat!

Today was another great day with even more like minded folks at RootsHQ2009. They had held a rally while we were munching beef with American Liberty Tour. I would have liked to have gone, but we thought it was already over, and besides, sparkly duds and rallies don’t typically go together. I heard there were 3000 folks there. :D

I gotta tell ya, we had a great time with these guys!  But it occurred to me, I only took ONE picture all day!

boys & toys Nothing like an electronic flying toy to bring joy to the boys.  Hmmm….  Might have to find one of these things for the Mr.  I’ve no doubt it would drive the kitties crazy.  heh

After listening to such great speakers, like Eric Erickson, Ken Marero, Caleb Howe, David Hinz, Corie Whalen, Steven Foley, Eric Odom, William Owens, Jr., and a few others, I am MORE determined now not to let our country go down the drain, which is where the liberals would like to see her….in the sewers.

It was an honor to meet new friends, and see ‘old’ ones.  Let’s do this again soon!  :)

Just a Few Smart Girls

In case you were wondering, I’m in Nashville, along with a number of other Smart Girls.  If I wasn’t dog tired, and have to be up at dawn’s crack tomorrow, I’d tell ya what a terrific bunch of ladies this is, but since I’m more brain dead than usual, I won’t.  :D   So, here are just few of the ladies.

SGP1

Wanna hear something scary? This lady, Mary, is ALMOST as big a wisenheimer as I am. I think we’ve figured out we’re kind of twins, from different parental units, and separated by a few years. Heh.

SGP2

A couple of the head honchos, Paula and…..oh poop….Julie? Anyways, that woman seems to have a problem keeping her eyes open. I don’t suppose it had anything to do with the 90 million flashes going off on a regular basis, could it?

SGP3

Welp, tomorrow is going to be a LOOOONG day, and like I said, butt crack….dawn…… ACK! I’M GONNA DIE! :P

The Foundry Is Putting It In Perspective

17 September 2009, 8:09 am. 1 Comment. Filed under Moonbats & Other Animals, Opinion, Politics, The ONE.

I have to question if Mr Obama, and the Democrats, along with a few RINOS, are even aware of the damage they are doing to this nation? Do they care? Did they learn nothing from history? Or, is it truly the intent of this administration to put us at risk?  To destroy what so many gave their lives to protect?  I honestly wonder.

Surrender and Betrayal Do Not Make Us Safer

Last month we reported that news outlets in Poland were saying that the Obama administration had made the decision to abandon our anti-missile shield in Poland and the Czech Republic. Today Czech Premier Jan Fischer confirmed those reports telling reporters that President Obama phoned him overnight to say that “his government is pulling out of plans to build a missile defense radar on Czech territory.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, the Obama administration is justifying its decision on their determination that Iran’s long-range missile program hasn’t progressed as rapidly as previously estimated. This despite the facts that:

The only country other than Iran that is happy with President Obama’s decision is Russia. State Duma foreign affairs committee head Konstantin Kosachev told the Associated Press: “The U.S. president’s decision is a well-thought (out) and systematic one. Now we can talk about restoration of (the) strategic partnership between Russia and the United States.” But, in fact, the missile defense capitulation is just one in a long line of Obama surrenders to Russia. Heritage fellow Ariel Cohen explains from Moscow:

All these concessions the Russians pocketed, smiled, and moved on to new demands: European security reconfiguration; additional global reserve currency which would weaken the dollar; and a strong push-back on sanctions against the Iranian nuclear program. …. While the Russians clearly like the better atmospherics, and somewhat toned down the shrill anti-American rhetoric, the Iranians and the Venezuelans, who also received Obama’s “stretched hand” and, in case of Hugo Chavez, a pat on the back, are refusing to play ball. They, like their friends in Moscow, are also pocketing concessions while continuing the mischief.

The decision to abandon the “third site” deployment of 10 missile interceptors in Poland and a radar in the Czech Republic violates President Obama’s pledge to support missile defense that is “pragmatic and cost-effective.” Ground based missile defense is effective, affordable, and available now. According to the Congressional Budget Office, alternatives to the third site do not provide a comparable level of defense. The CBO concluded that the estimated $9-14 billion 20-year cost of the third site was half of the estimated costs of a sea-based alternative. Abandoning our best missile defense option in Europe only encourages Iran to speed up their ballistic missile program so that they can get their threat in place before a European missile defense system is available.

The Poles and the Czechs know what it means to live under the boot of Russian domination. The third-site issue is of huge symbolic importance to both nations, and if Moscow emerges the victor, with an effective veto over U.S. policy in Europe, it would represent a massive surrender of American strategic influence and a betrayal of two of its closest friends in the region.

Go to 33minutes.com for more on missile defense, the threat posed to us and our allies by nuclear weapons, and the action plan necessary to revive a strategic missile defense system that America uniquely can develop, maintain, and employ for its own defense and the peace-loving world’s security.

Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

If the Democrats love being losers so much, I’d say we should hand them a defeat so resounding, they may NEVER recover……. in 2010, 2012, 2014, etc.

Afghanistan is not Vietnam … yet

At the strategic level, the situation is decidedly different. Mullah Muhammad Omar, the leader of the Taliban, is not a head of state like North Vietnamese President Ho Chi Minh was. There is no conventional armed force in Afghanistan analogous to the North Vietnamese Army. The Taliban does not have a support structure anything like the scale of what the communist world provided to Hanoi. Those who think the Vietnam War was won by pajama-clad guerillas in the jungle should take another look at images of communist tanks crashing through the gates of the South Vietnamese presidential palace in 1975.

Unfortunately, the most important strategic factor is the same: a liberal Congress working to undermine the U.S. war effort. The U.S. military had won the Vietnam conflict by 1970, but when Democrats in Congress cut aid to South Vietnam in 1974, our trusting allies in Saigon were left helpless before the communist onslaught. Mr. Obama might want to consult with Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on the spirit of those times. Mr. Biden was a freshman senator and one of the cosponsors of the Case-Church Amendment, which stopped aid to Cambodia and opened the way for the Khmer Rouge takeover and the killing fields that followed.

I do not, CAN NOT, understand this sort of mentality.  I don’t want to.  Why do Democrats hate this country so much they’d prefer defeat in war, ANY war?  I’ve heard all the touchy feely nonsense, I want RATIONAL answers.  Whether or not you supported going into Afghanistan or not, we are there, and you should be backing the effort 100%.  Instead, we have whining .  Wars are not won sitting behind a desk, but they damn sure are lost!

I grew up during Vietnam.  I do not EVER want to see such a defeat again!  All you whiny liberals….sit down, shut up, and let those who know what they are doing….DO IT!

Obama Scrapping U.S. Missile Shield in Europe

The Pentagon confirmed Thursday major adjustments to plans for the European missile defense system.

Reports first said the U.S. would junk the missile defense shield, but the Pentagon now says it will shift away from long-range missiles to a strategy to counter short- and medium-range missiles.

Isn’t that just peachy! We have a POTUS who embraces our enemies, and shafts our allies. My question: Can we actually survive till 2012?

Liberal Lies About National Health Care: Bonus Joe Wilson Edition
by Ann Coulter

I’m trying to get to the next installment of my Pulitzer Prize-deserving series on liberal lies about national health care, but apparently liberals have decided to torture us by neurotically fixating on one lie.

After President Barack Obama gave a speech to a joint session of Congress last week passionately defending his national health care plan, the Democrats were agog at the brilliance of the speech. Nancy Pelosi was so thrilled, her expression almost changed.

But as Obama ticked off one demonstrably false claim after another — eliciting 37 standing ovations from the Democrats in the audience — America’s greatest living statesman, Rep. Joe Wilson, R-S.C., yelled out, “You lie!” in response to Obama’s claim that the bill will not cover illegal aliens.

There are a number of theories about why America’s greatest living statesman shouted “You lie!” at that juncture, but mine is that Wilson said it because Obama told a big, fat stinking lie.

Think About It

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion – when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing – when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors – when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you – when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice – you may know that your society is doomed.
