Let’s Face It….

…..Jimmy Carter is a buffoon!  Always has been, always will be.

Brian Williams and NBC are even a bigger buffoons for giving this anti-Semitic piece of garbage any air time.

Then we have this little tidbit:

Waters: Probe ‘birthers and the teabaggers’ at rallies for racist views

The media should investigate the racial views of conservative activists like the ones who descended on Washington last weekend, one liberal congresswoman said Wednesday.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said that it’s not enough for African-Americans to levy allegations of racism against the right-leaning protesters, and that the media must look into their views.

“I want those people talked to; I want them interviewed,” Waters told the liberal Bill Press Radio show in a podcast. “I want journalists to be all over those rallies and the marches with the birthers and the teabaggers.”

“What I’m looking for is the very people who carry the signs who are referring to the policies in very, very strange ways like ‘Obamacare’ and ‘Barry Obamacare with Kennedy,’” she said. “What I’ve been interested in is hearing from those people that everybody’s referring to — everybody on the Mall, in the rally.”

Psst! Genius! It’s spelled B-U-R-Y. As in stick it in the ground, it’s done! This is the same woman who basically admitted she wants socialism.

Hey!  Maxine!  I’m quite sure that we’d all be REAL happy to give you an earful any time you like!  The only racists I see are the ones who are shouting RACIST on a regular basis.  If you want to talk to me, I’m right here.  I was at the rally in Nashville.  Odds are, I’ll be at future rallies as well.

ObamaCare will Nullify Much of the Bill of Rights!
by J.D. Longstreet

Over the past few months we have attempted to warn you about the freedom Americans will lose if the Healthcare bills, which have come to known as ObamaCare, are passed into law by the US Congress. Yet, some of the latest polls show the American people are split almost fifty-fifty in favor of and against the bills now making their way through the Congress.

It is sad beyond measure how little modern day Americans treasure the freedom so many thousands, yea millions, of their fellow Americans have given their blood, their treasure, and even their lives to secure and to preserve just for them!

But, sadly, that is where we are in today’s America. We are but a shell of the America I grew up in. Taken as a whole, the modern day American nation is a pathetic 100th generation copy of the American nation of the 1940’s and 1950’s. Weak, apprehensive, apathetic, ignorant, fat, lazy, and just little frightened is a good description of America today. And that is a shame.

If you have ever observed a big, strong, strapping, young man killing himself with self-destructive behavior such as alcoholism or drug addiction while those who care for him warn him time and again about his destructive conduct and the certainty of his end, and you have watched as he deteriorates and crumbles in upon himself until he is a husk of the man he used to be, then you know how many of my generation view America today. Worse yet, we love her as did the friends of the hypothetical young man we mentioned above. It is painful to watch. But, that is where we are in America today.

America is bent on self-destruction and nothing, it seems, will save her.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking. There have been quite a few things that crossed through my mind, on a regular basis. I question whether I even care anymore what happens to this country, out of utter frustration. But I know I do. No matter my irritation at the complete ignorance of what I see on “the other side”, I still love my country. I still care what happens here. I still worry that my grandchildren will never know the freedoms I knew. I can’t say “know”, because I don’t see those same freedoms anymore. I’ve seen them whittled away, day by day, year by year, decade by decade, until the country I see today, is NOT the same nation I saw as a young sprout. Having spoken to many over the last few years, I know I am not alone in my observations.

I realize we all go through changes during our lifetimes. I went from extremely shy, to rowdy teen, to a hippy, to a wife and mother, to a not so great member of society. Then, I started to grow up, and saw what I was doing, not only to myself, but to my family. I started paying attention. I started observing the world around me again, and while I wasn’t all that alarmed, I was a bit concerned. I started to remember things my parents had told me about their youth, and their experiences during prohibition, the “Great Depression”, WWII, and the aftermath. This isn’t the same country anymore. Children are no longer free to be children. Adults can’t make their own choices, good or bad, without someone interfering in their decisions. We are not the United States of America. We have become the Divided Citizens of a socialist state.

I know we are a nation of, not ‘left’ and ‘right’, but of right and wrong. Where we are right now, is wrong. Plain and simple. If you’ve never read the U.S. Constitution, take the time to read it, word for word. You can even get your own free copy to carry with you from The Heritage Foundation. If you haven’t read The 5000 Year Leap, go buy it, or request it at your local library. In case you didn’t know, it’s an excellent explanation of the Constitution and how it came about.

As much as I’d like to say our path to the hell of socialism started on 1/20/09, I can’t. It wouldn’t be true. It started long before. I have no specific date, nothing to pinpoint to say “That’s when it started.” The path began long before I was born, but has been accelerating in the past 40 years. I can say, the last 9 months has been the ‘fast track’. Even people who never paid much attention to politics have become quite aware of current events as evidenced by the growing number of “TEA Partiers”.

I heard a reference on Bill O’Reilly last night calling the rallies “anti-Obama’”. I have lost a great deal of respect for O’Reilly recently. That was just the icing on the cake. We are not anti-Obama. We are anti-socialism. We are anti-big government. We are anti-over taxation. We are anti-government intrusion.  It’s not that complicated.

We don’t need ‘health care reform’.  We need government reform.  We need to reform the government to its original intent.  NOW!

NO RINOS!

16 September 2009, 9:30 am. 3 Comments. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Health Care, Senate.

Obamacare runs counter to GOP principles

The six Senate Republicans seeking a “bipartisan compromise” on President Obama’s proposal for a government-run health care system are flirting with a provision – an individual mandate to buy government-approved health insurance – that runs counter to everything the GOP stands for. This “gang of six” includes senators Olympia Snowe of Maine, Charles Grassley of Iowa, Robert Bennett of Utah, Lindsay Graham of South Carolina, Mike Crapo of Idaho, and Lamar Alexander of Tennessee. Snowe has been covertly negotiating with Obama for weeks, while Grassley supports the concept of a health care insurance co-op. The other four are co-sponsors of S. 391, the Healthy Americans Act introduced by Sen. Ron Wyden, D-OR, which includes some attractive features but at its heart is an individual mandate. Individuals and fFamilies would be fined as much as $3,800 annually for not buying approved health insurance.

Lamar Alexander, like many of his cohorts with that “R” behind their names, is NOT a Republican. He, and those like him is the very reason why people are leaving the GOP in droves. The Party no longer represents the very reason many joined them in the first place. Sadly, the alternative to Alexander in the election last fall was completely unacceptable, so I left it blank. Didn’t vote for either one. Have you ever written, or called Lamar Alexander? Tried in anyway to express your views to him? IF he deigns to respond at all, you’ll get the typical form letter, irrelevant to your concerns. Why is that?

As for Snowe, she needs to go ahead and follow Specter’s example and make the switch.  As best I can figure out, she’s never been a Republican, following ANY Republican principles!

Senate Republicans are fools if they think they can safely get away with sprinkling some “bipartisan compromise” pixie dust on any government-run health care bill. Among the August recess lessons is that people, unlike most members of Congress, are reading the bills as never before and they aren’t going to be fooled by flowery rhetoric. That is why surveys appearing this week make clear that Obama’s much-ballyhooed address last week to Congress was no game-changer, contrary to predictions from the White House and the liberal media. It is also why the people will know RINOcare is just another way of saying Obamacare.

“Fools” is a very polite way of putting it.  We have said NO.  They are not listening.  If you have been sitting on the sidelines, thinking those yahoos in D.C. give a happy crap about your health care, you are sadly mistaken.  This whole fiasco is not about your health, it’s all about control of YOU, and of course, your wallet.  Or what little there is left of it.

If the powers that be were seriously about reforming the insurance system, first, there would be TORT reform.  Second, they’d open the state borders for more competition, which would in turn lower health insurance.  Competition is a good thing, government run is NOT.  Third, the government would get the hell out of the way.  Every time the government gets involved in ANYTHING, it gets totally screwed up, and is rife with fraud.

Health Care

I received this in an email – you may have seen it before, but it’s worth repeating…

Let me get this straight — Obama’s health care plan will be written by a committee whose head says he doesn’t understand it, passed by a Congress that hasn’t read it, and whose members are exempt from it, signed by a president who smokes in secret, funded by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that is broke.

What could possibly go wrong?

“Peasant” Uprising

How do you create a ‘peasant uprising’?  You create peasants, of course.  And how do you do that?  You take away the will to create….anything.  You tax them into poverty.  Tax businesses so much they can no longer create jobs, and must eliminate existing jobs, which in turn increases unemployment.

Media Coverage of the 9/12 Protests: A Report Card
Liberal Nets Acknowledge News Value of Anti-Obama Rally, but Much of the Coverage Is Antagonistic

When liberals were the ones behind the megaphones, the media embraced big protests as an important gauge of the public mood. Now that the roles are reversed, the double-standard is glaring.

“Racers”

15 September 2009, 12:00 pm. 1 Comment. Filed under Opinion.

It’s about our future

Question authority. Speak truth to power.

These are considered great virtues when it’s liberals who are doing it.

This is quite accurate. The hypocrisy is glaring, even in the former main stream media.

But rather than view as many as a million concerned citizens at Saturday’s amazing protest in Washington as speaking truth to power and questioning authority, some are actually disparaging the historic event.

It must be racist. It has to be. It can’t be real. This must be a reaction to the country’s first black president.

I, for one, am finding this idiocy of crying “racism” every time someone has the audacity to criticize Obama, more than just a bit disturbing.  Heaven forbid anyone should have facts to back up their criticism.

When Barack Obama attracts a crowd, it’s a throng. When citizens concerned about the direction of the country gather, something’s wrong – with them.

We spent 8 years of listening to constant name calling, ugly comparisons, and out right threats on the life of the POTUS. But that was different, right?

Washington authorities were caught by surprise by the size of Saturday’s 9-12 protest – and they’re not alone: Congress, the White House and anyone who gets his information solely from “mainstream” media sources could not have seen this coming.

According to one report I read, the National Parks Service called the rally the largest ever, yet how much coverage was given. These were ordinary people, from all walks of life, all colors, all religions, who are fed up with the out of control federal government, yet it was all about racism? I see. Actually, I don’t, but for the sake of argument…..

It’s truly tragic how many on the left and in the media desperately want this to be about anything other than that. The latest Democratic talking points: The tea party rallies, and even Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst, are about racist whites who can’t accept a black president.

Gracious sakes. The protests couldn’t be about destructive policies, so they must be directed towards the color of Obama’s skin, right?

It’s truly tragic how many on the left and in the media desperately want this to be about anything other than that. The latest Democratic talking points: The tea party rallies, and even Rep. Joe Wilson’s outburst, are about racist whites who can’t accept a black president.

Left winger, Maureen Dowd, interjected a word that was never uttered.  If she ‘heard’ it, then it was SHE who was thinking it.

That bellicose lie – that you’re all a bunch of racists – is one of the most insulting slanders of Americans in years and years.

That is the point, isn’t it. To call those who oppose Obama’s policies “racists” is an attempt to silence the opposition. It’s not going to work.

We implore our liberal friends to stop slandering Americans, stop hiding behind the race of the president, and let’s all take a look at the issues together. This problem is not black and white; it’s about the financial solvency of America itself, and the extent of individual freedom we and our descendants will enjoy – or be stripped of.

Since the odds of the left actually stopping their nonsense are slim to none, we will continue on the path to destruction. It would be really nice if they would actually grow up and look at the realities of what is happening to a country they CLAIM to love. I say claim because if you love something, you don’t want to see it’s destruction, you want to preserve it.

On a philosophical, yet practical, level this debate is also about morality. Is it moral, or constitutional, to use government to rob Peter to pay Paul? Is it moral to erode self-responsibility on both ends of the equation? And where else on Earth has that been successful?

The Declaration of Independence includes the words “….life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” It does not say anything about the guarantee you will be happy, but that you are free to pursue your individual happiness. You are free to work as hard to achieve your level of happiness, or as little as you choose. There are no guarantees. The U.S. Constitution lays down common sense rules for the governing of this nation. The current administration, the majorities in both the House and the Senate, have basically taken that most important document (next to the Bible) and used it to wipe their asses.

This isn’t about race. This is about our future.

Exactly! You see, contrary to what the left would have you believe, we do not care about the color of one’s skin. It’s what is on the inside that matters most. Unlike the left, we believe that a person, no matter the circumstances of his or her birth, EVERYONE has the same opportunities to succeed, or fail, in life. So, while the left is sitting back on their collective asses, crying racist, we are fighting for their continued right to be morons.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.

Clifton Robinson: Day of reckoning for our nation is fast approaching

Sunday, September 13, 2009

We the people of the United States of America have the absolute right to demand of our elected representatives in Congress responsible management of the affairs of government, in keeping with the sacred rights granted by our Constitution.

Today, however, it’s frighteningly clear that those elected abandoned their duty to our country. They serve the wishes of special-interest constituents, crossing party lines and giving way not for what’s good for America, but what will gain them the most money and the most votes.

The lofty status of many politicians can only be maintained with promises of “something for nothing,” with total disregard for future consequences. The built-in flaws of our democracy can only be overcome when strict laws requiring fiscal responsibility are passed, strictly observed except in time of war or dire financial crisis.
