Couric: GOP ‘Hijacked’ by ‘Far-Right Conservatives…Like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin’

“There’s growing concern among some GOP leaders that controversial commentators and far-right conservativesCouric declared in her Tuesday “Katie Couric’s Notebook” for CBSNews.com. Specifically, “people like Rush Limbaugh and Sarah Palin appeal to the base — and you certainly need that base to win elections. But in an age when 42 percent of Americans call themselves Independents,” Couric warned as if she’s really concerned Republicans won’t succeed, “you can’t win with just the base, either.” have hijacked the message,” CBS Evening News anchor Katie

You couldn’t be more wrong, Mzzzzzzzzzzzzz Couric.  The GOP wasn’t hijacked by conservatives.  No, it was hijacked by Dem-lites, aka RINOS.  The go along to get along crowd.  Why do you think so many have left the party and become Independents?  Huh, huh, huh??

If that stupid bitch Couric thinks Palin a “Far Right Conservative”, she needs to meet me… Palin is a Republican, I’ll give her that, but Conservative is a moot point…

Poli Sci 101: elections are won at the center. I would like nothing better than for the Repubs to move right, as for each little step they take, the Dems, without lifting a finger, pick up a corresponding chunk of voters. They can even double the return by making a similar shift right. So I guess the Repubs at least have the consolation of knowing the resulting loss will be a bit less liberal than if they had actually chosen to stay in the fight.

Fred, compared to you, a great many conservatives would be considered lefties.  Heh.  Sorry….couldn’t resist.  :P

jim, ol’ broad 101….leave my Constitution alone!  Your side has been eroding the foundations of this country for way too long.  It’s time to put a stop to it!

Jim Spice: you need to crack a history book, instead of a democrat playbook. Yuoll learn a whole lot more.
Elections are won by CONSERVATIVE VOTERS, considering the MAJORITY of the COUNTRY is CONSERVATIVE.
Think Im wrong? Go look at both of Reagans LANDSLIDE victories, then look at how many people voted for McCain (against their will), BOTH of Bushs victories (despite him not being a conservative), Bush Sr., and how many votes Dole and Bush Sr. got against Clinton.
5 out of the past 8 presidential elections were won by a republican.
So you SERIOUSLY need to get your head out of whereever it is and wake up. America is not “middle of the road”, or liberal. Also take a look at how many states are against funding abortion and gay marriage.
    Seriously, stop being an idiot.

Shadowblitz, your response is so completely riddled with holes I wouldn’t know where to start. Go look up “Reagan Democrats” for a good tutorial on how to play the center.

Psst.  Jim.  My dad was a Reagan Democrat.  About as conservative as they come.  When the Dem party of the south started moving so far left, a LOT of folks left ‘em.  The ‘organized’ bigotry was a big turn off.

Just had to toss my 2 cents in.  :D
