Bad Move, Newt!

Gingrich: Liberal Republican ‘dramatically better’ than Democrat

New York Republican congressional candidate DeDe Scozzafava not only has the backing of Planned Parenthood and The Daily Kos, but her campaign has also received financial endorsements from the Republican National Committee and Republican leaders such as House Minority Leader John Boehner, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor, and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich

Gingrich recently said Scozzafava’s election could be the start of a “new Republican Revolution” that mirrors the “1994 Republican Revolution.” On the Andrew Wilkow Show Wednesday, Gingrich explained his endorsement of Scozzafava.

“She’s dramatically better than the Democrat. She’s not the person I would have nominated [and] she’s not the person who fits my values 100 percent, but she is a heck of a lot better than the liberal Democrat,” stated Gingrich. “And if you want to have a conservative majority in Washington, part of that majority’s going to make you uncomfortable.”

I honestly cannot see how such a DIABLO (Democrat In All But Label Only) would aid in either mirroring the ’94 ‘revolution’ (which they screwed up royally) or having anything close to a conservative majority.  If Mr Gingrich was honestly concerned about putting conservatives into office, why did he not endorse the only actual conservative who is in the race?  The only explanation I can think of….it’s all about the party, NOT the principles, and that just will NOT do!

$1,655,000

Do you ever feel like your employees are giving you the shaft? That’s probably because….they are!

Government watchdogs say those trips are a waste of taxpayer money, and they’re not alone on an eye-popping list of NEH funding for projects, including:

* $400,000 for an exhibition “exploring the importance of plants as a source of inspiration for noted American poet Emily Dickinson”
* $350,000 to explore the “cultural significance of the circus poster”
* $725,000 to produce a two-hour documentary on the history of American whaling.
* $130,000 for 16 professors to study the “truth and meaning” of life according to Aristotle
* $50,000 to build a computer model of an ancient city in Pakistan complete with “animated and interactive ‘inhabitants’”

This is NOT why we pay taxes!  And they wonder why we are so pissed off??

Tea Parties

I happened to run across one of the best explanations of the Tea Party, that totally seems to escape the MSM, and the general lefties seem are incapable of understanding.

TEA PARTIES: ARE YOU MISSING the POINT???
by Matthew Murphy

Just a snippet:

A look at a few of the issues:

Debt

Money does not grow on trees. Money is scarce (limited in supply). Washington does not understand this, nor do they need to since the FED will gladly print money for them.

Both parties are guilty of creating this crisis. Foreign nations won’t keep buying our debt, and it will become obvious to them that we won’t be paying it back. Americans will face higher taxes but this won’t be enough to cover it. That’s where the printing press (or more and more often, entering the digits on a keyboard) will fill the gap. Bringing on such economic turmoil will leave the average American family in devastation.

Please go read the entire post here.

There are way to many who seem to believe our rallies are all about Obama.  They are wrong!  Some, and we all know who, would like to think this is about color.  Nothing could be farther from the truth!  We are all about policies, and the rampant destruction of our nation.  Some ask “Where were you when Bush was doing the same thing?”  When Bush needed criticism, we were on it, it’s not our fault if you weren’t paying attention.

Apathy has brought us to this point.  Well, we’ve had a serious wake up call with the erosion of the Constitution, and apathy is no longer an option.  Not if we want to preserve what we have and regain what we’ve lost.

If there was ever any question in your mind about the leanings of the lame stream media, wonder no more.

MSNBC Anchors Lash Out at Cheney; Wonder If He’s of a ‘Rational, Healthy Mind’

Shuster and Hall seemed particularly upset over Cheney’s speech on October 21 where the Vice President accused Obama of “dithering” on an Afghanistan strategy and also being “afraid” of making a decision. Talking to Newsweek reporter Michael Isikoff, Hall bristled, “As a woman, of course, I read in all kinds of machismo with this language, you are afraid to come out with a decision, almost taunting there.”

The liberal Shuster could barely contain himself. Commenting on Cheney’s frail physical condition, he taunted, “What do you think he is after here, assuming that he is of some sort of rational, healthy mind?”

There seems to be some sort of mental disease running rampant, but it isn’t on the part of Dick Cheney. I guess in their minds, if anyone dares to criticize the liberal media’s Chosen ONE, they must be nuts, right?

Hey!  Libtards!  I’d take a strong Dick Cheney type over the linguine spined Obama….ANY DAY!

So, how’s that workin’ for ya!? In the grand scheme of things, I don’t think McCain would have been doing a much better job, but I do know he would have been more open about what what he was up to, unlike this administration.

Huh?

I love our military!  I honor those lost on 9/11 in the Towers.  Is it just me, or is this just kind of tacky?

Tiffany Registry Offers Gifts for the USS New York

Want to honor a loved one or see your name on a $2,800 Chippendale tray to be used on the U.S. Navy’s newest warship? Well, now’s your chance.

A Tiffany & Co. gift registry has been established for the USS New York, which was built with more than seven tons of steel from the World Trade Center and will be commissioned on Nov. 7. Interested buyers can commemorate a service member, a victim who died on Sept. 11 or even themselves by purchasing and engraving any of the 200-plus pieces up for sale.

I don’t mean to be disrespectful, but wouldn’t the best way to honor those lost is to rebuild those buildings?

Podunk, Education, Tax Money, and Feckless Weasels

22 October 2009, 7:28 pm. 4 Comments. Filed under Education, Feckless Weasels, Taxes, Tennessee.

I’ve been trying to pay attention to some recent goings on in our little corner of Tennessee concerning the Hardin County schools, the school board, and tax issues. Unfortunately, because the local fish wrap’s website totally sucks, I can’t link back to articles on the issue.

From today’s edition, we get this little tidbit:

Lawsuit to save community schools dismissed by judge
Group tried to block construction of two new 550-student buildings

For the second time, a suit seeking to spare five aging community schools from closing has been dismissed in Hardin County Chancery Court.

Monday, Circuit Court Judge Donald E. Parish, sitting in for Chancellor Ron Harmon of Hardin County who dismissed a previous suit by Concerned Citizens for Community Schools-threw out the latest suit.

The group sought an injunction to block the ongoing construction of two new 550- student “mega-schools”{ and the closing of North, Walker, Whites, Nixon and Walnut Grove elementary schools.

Ok, I’ve read the injunction (.pdf), and even though I’m not a lawyer, I have to say BOTH judges made the wrong decision.  The history sited in the injunction pretty well states the case that one single person decided to thumb his nose at the people of Hardin County (page 9, sec. 35).

Named as defendant were Hardin County, the school board and the chairman David Long, county Mayor Kevin Davis and county schools Director John Thomas.

Since David Long was in cahoots with John Thomas back in 2006, I’m really curious how these two are even in these positions.

“Now that this is behind us, the board and I can continue to focus on getting these buildings and the renovations done so our children can have a better place to learn,” Thomas said Tuesday.

Actually, I think Thomas should seriously worry about keeping his job.  If the people of Hardin County don’t toss him out on his keister, there is something seriously wrong. I find it extremely interesting that there is a total lack of concern with the well being of the children themselves. The idea of small children sitting, for an hour to an hour and a half, on a school bus is more than just a bit disturbing. There have been studies to prove that community schools are better for the children than being bussed across town, or across a county. Hardin is a good sized county, 596 square miles, consisting of a LOT of winding back roads, which or course, adds time to any drive.  By the time they would get home from school, the poor things won’t have time to actually be …….kids!  I know it’s hard to urban folks to understand, but out in Podunk areas, kids still actually do kid stuff…..outside!

Some folks might ask why I care, since I don’t have a dog in this hunt (no kids in school).  Unlike many in the current system of education, I actually CARE about what happens to kids, and their level of education.  Question:  How likely is a small child to pay close attention in class if they are tired from the ride to school, after being up before any self respecting rooster?  Kids are our future.  I’d really like to see the education system return to what it once was, a community affair, with parental involvement, and a return to a great many of the basics that have been left by the wayside, all in the same of political correctness.  A bit of reading, writing, correct spelling, grammar, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and FACTUAL history might come in handy some day.

Since I’m unable to link to much of anything in said local fish wrap, I’m disappointed that I can’t link to a terrific letter to the editor that is directly related to the issue.  I guess I’ll just have to do what I always do……type it myself.  :?

Some parents have written recently complaining of long bus rides for their children as a result of the county’s school conquest, er, I mean consolidation plan.  This is an understandable concern, but there is a simple solution.  Dormitories.  The inmates, er I mean students, would be housed there during the entire school year.  This would prevent wated time on school buses.  The time saved could be used to properly indoctrinate, er, I mean educate, the students on the glories of our Dear Supreme Leader in the Holy City of Washington, D.C.  Any supplicant, er I mean parent, who wished to see their offspring could easily do so by seeking the permission of Mayor Davis in writing.

As for the property tax, sales tax, wheel tax, tax-because-we-have-to-put-up-with-you, etc., wouldn’t it be far easier for the Grand Council to simply confiscate the most lucrative businesses and private estates in the county?  You know, like King Henry the Eighth did!

I know the good people of Hardin County will want to thank me for these bold and innovative ideas.  But it’s really not necessary.  Just keep voting the same people back into office over and over again, and that will thanks enough.

Got Gun? No Health Care!

ObamaCare and the Disarmament of US Citizens
by J. D. Longstreet

To do this commentary justice you really need to read this short piece in The Washington Times. Please do so before continuing this commentary. Just click the link HERE.
We knew it was just a matter of time. So, apparently the Obama administration has decided it IS time.

How many times have we warned that ObamaCare would punish American gun owners? We were shouted down each time.

Now, we can see the attempt by the Obama regime to tie guns into some sort of health issue in order to make gun ownership fall under the auspices of Obamacare where gun control will be a huge issue.

Simply put, under Obamacare there is a strong likelihood that if you own a gun you will not get healthcare insurance. Read the article at the link above for a better understanding of how the Obama regime is going about this.

Well, looks like a vast majority of conservatives, along with a few 2nd Amendment Democrats, law officers, and the military won’t be getting   under Obummer’s regime.  Reckon if we get sick, we’re suppose to “die quickly”.  Hey….wait a minute, isn’t that what the doofus Grayson say was the Republican plan?  Hmmm…   So, basically, if I understand this correctly, people who are exercising their God given right of self defense are going to be penalized by the unconstitutional ObamaCare?   I sure hope I’m reading this wrong!

Ann on The Media War

The Grating Communicator
by Ann Coulter

The Obama administration has attacked Fox News in order to prevent government corruption stories broken on Fox from bleeding into the other media, which are all-consumed with daily updates on Levi Johnston’s Playgirl spread and Carrie Prejean’s breast implants.

That’s understandable. But I think the administration should have picked someone other than David Axelrod to deliver the claim that Fox News is “not really news,” inasmuch as Axelrod was behind the leak of scurrilous allegations in Jack Ryan’s sealed divorce papers when he was running for a Senate seat against Obama. Talk about vicious personal gossip.

Now that Fox has been branded an untouchable, the teacher’s-pet media are jubilant.

Question

21 October 2009, 3:44 pm. 4 Comments. Filed under Feckless Weasels, Just Cuz, Opinion.

While running some errands this afternoon, I was listening to Tom Sullivan. He asked a real good question: Where is Hillary Clinton? Has anyone seen her lately? Is she doing what a Secretary of State is suppose to be doing? I understand John Kerry has been stepping into the roll, going to Afghanistan, spending his weekends in meetings with the Poser.  It’s nice to know she’s got her campaign debt down to just a measly million, but other than that…..

So, Tom made a prediction:  Hillary is going to resign in the not too distant future, perhaps within 18 months, and John Kerry will step into the roll.  I wonder if he might be on to something.  Any thoughts?
