Well people arent buildngs lol. SOME would be smart enough to take shelter or dig themselves out. 50k people arent going to just stand there. I refuse to buy that all 50k died in a sandstorm.
Thats like saying 40k people died in an f5 tornado... yeah, maybe if they all just STOOD there picking their noses. :P

Then again, I also think the whole "Giant meteor hits the earth hard enough to create a dust cloud that covers the earth and blocks the sun - so thats why we have no dinosaurs" is about as believable as the flat earth theory too. Once again, alot of these people are the same ones that come up with crap like "global warming."

If people got buried in a sandstorm, they wouldnt have been exposed to the sun enough to get ALL their bones bleached, then get re-buried. This whole thing just doesnt add up. Its swiss cheese.
I think the archaeologists are just trying to whip up some funding by exaggerating the find, imo.
"Look! its the Holy Grail of finds! omg!" lol
But, any find like this is still cool, 50,000 people or not.

If a sandstorm can bury an entire city, it could quite easily bury 50,000 people. Not to mention after 2500 years, there have been more sandstorms. Things get blown and buried.

The whole thing is kinda neat, I like history myself, but it raises more questions to me than it answers.
The bones were bleached, and buried. So the bones must have been in the sun a while.
Who buried them?

I dont buy for a second that a single sand storm could kill 50,000 men. Thats ludicrous. 500, MAYBE. Even then, its a stretch. These people back then were hardy, knew how to survive things like that. Its not like if you took 50,000 liberals and threw them out in the desert (as appealing as that sounds.)

A handful of jewelry, a few arrow heads and daggers and a small pile of bones do not 50,000 people make. That seems to be a very large conclusion to jump to. Id be willing to go with something like "a small contingent of men that got separated from the main group, and were thus lost and died in a sandstorm."
Kinda like when those idiots found an old boat in the mountains they immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was Noahs Ark.
People see something hairy moving through the brush its Yeti or Bigfoot.
Or theres a heat spike in some part of the world, and "oh no its global warming and were all going to burn up and die."
