I am not surprised this information came from 1928, as the battle between individualism and collectivism has been going on since the beginning. What would Ben Franklin think about today? What would his advice be to we who want to keep the republic?

Yeah, unfortunately, it was written by a socialist, Francis Bellamy, who was kicked out of his church for his socialist sermons.

I explain this to people all the time. I usually get a funny look, like they think Im talking out of my ass.

Anyway, I even use the pledge as a guideline, but from what I have heard, it was actually written by a socialist, as part of an advertisement or some such thing?
If you look in the dictionary, youll notice the definitionss are very similar, which is basically part of the plan. Keep people uninformed, therefore easier to control.
