From The Minority Report
Rest In Peace David Hinz

It’s with the heaviest of hearts that I inform you that my friend and online partner David Hinz was killed this morning in a auto accident. I don’t have all the details right now but the weather was bad and black ice was most likely what caused the accident.
Dave was on his way to work, at Fed Ex, when it happened.
A consummate warrior for freedom and liberty Dave was not only a brilliant writer and seeker of truth… he was someone I was proud to call my friend.
I’m obviously devastated by this news today… so I promise to give you more details and properly eulogize my friend in the coming days.
Please keep his family in your prayers!
The conservative blogosphere has lost a true gem today. One of the REAL good guys. My most sincere prayers with his family!
R.I.P. Rep. Turner
Democratic Representative Larry Turner of Memphis Dead
The Tennessee House Speaker Pro Tempore has announced that Representative Larry Turner of Memphis has died.
The announcement was made Friday, November 27, 2009. House Speaker Pro Tempore Louis DeBerry told the Associated Press that Rep. Turner died Friday morning after a long illness.
Rep. Turner missed most of the last session of the Tennessee General Assembly because of the illness. He’d spent twenty-four years in the legislature with hardly any absences before the last term.
Rep. DeBerry describes Rep. Turner as a quiet, yet effective lawmaker. Rep. DeBerry told the Associated Press, “I never heard anybody say anything bad about (him), and I never heard him say anything bad about anybody.”
It’s really hard to come across a politician these days that is so highly thought of by both sides. Many pay lip service, but few are truly sincere. It appears this gentleman was honestly though well of.
Rest in peace sir. Prayers with the family.
A Day Late
Ok, this is one those things that just had to be swiped from Christmas Ghost and posted, even if it is a day late!
Woods In Serious Condition
UPDATE: Reports of Woods being in serious condition were seriously exaggerated. The patrol initially reported that Woods sustained serious injuries, but the hospital said that the golfer was treated and released Friday in good condition. (source)
Tiger Woods, 33, was seriously injured after being involved in car accident in Central Florida, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Troopers said his 2009 Escalade smashed into a tree on Deacon Circle in Isleworth at about 2:20 a.m. Friday.
Reports say Woods had just pulled out of the driveway at his residence, located at 6348 Deacon Circle. As Woods began to drive on Deacon Circle he struck a fire hydrant and then a tree, reports say.
Woods is listed in serious condition at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.
Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
Prayers for a complete recovery.
I have to ask, how in the world did he manage all this at 33mpg?

Unless you have been on another planet the last few weeks, no doubt you are aware of the Obama administration’s plans to bring 5 murderous animals to New York, for the express purpose, supposedly, of trying them in a civilian court. Thankfully, there are a few people left in The Swamp with a bit of sense!
Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX) has introduced a bill, H.R. 4127: To amend title 10, United States Code, to provide that alien unprivileged enemy belligerents may only be tried by military commissions if tried for alleged conduct for which a term of incarceration or the death penalty may be sought.

The result is an overregulated, overbureaucratized system of surpassing arbitrariness and inefficiency. Throw a dart at the Senate tome:
You’ll find mandates with financial penalties — the amounts picked out of a hat.
You’ll find insurance companies (who live and die by their actuarial skills) told exactly what weight to give risk factors, such as age. Currently insurance premiums for 20-somethings are about one-sixth the premiums for 60-somethings. The House bill dictates the young shall now pay at minimum one-half; the Senate bill, one-third — numbers picked out of a hat.
You’ll find sliding scales for health insurance subsidies — percentages picked out of a hat — that will radically raise marginal income tax rates for middle-class recipients, among other crazy, unintended consequences.

We keep hearing the words “deficit neutral” when it comes to these misnamed ‘health care bills’. We talking about the federal government here. There is no such thing as deficit neutral. These bills do not address actual care and well being of our citizens. They are nothing more than tax and spend fiascoes.
To put it quite bluntly, those who have spent so much of their adult lives living inside the Beltway have no idea what they are doing. Is the destruction of the best, and yes, most expensive, health care system in the world their intent? It sure appears to be the case. If they were serious about reform, they’d first address the issue of TORT reform. Frivolous lawsuits brought about by people who are too damn ignorant to realize that even though mistakes are made, they are not entitled to a lifetime payment from doctors, hospitals, or the insurance premiums from their fellow citizens. Yes, in the case of negligence, they are entitled to some compensation. I won’t dispute that at all. Are the so called lawmakers aware that the people who are actually paying these huge settlements are US?
Open the states to REAL competition. I’m not sure who thought it was a good idea to prevent health insurance companies from offering the same policy in North Carolina as they do in Arizona, but it’s not exactly a bright one.
The lack of every day plain ol’ common sense in our nation’s capital is just mind boggling. We don’t need anymore incompetent bureaucracies! The House, Senate, and White House are already incompetent enough for anyone.
Free Market Trumps “Spread the Wealth”

There is much talk these days of how conservatives need “new ideas” in these troubled economic times. And as we look at our nation’s troubled landscape, there is much work that needs to be done if we are going to return economic prosperity to the country. But as we sit down to celebrate Thanksgiving with our friends and family, recalling the true story of the Pilgrims should remind us all that the core principles that have made this nation great are unchanging, and that we risk ruin if we abandon them.

I took the day off, and ya know what? I thoroughly enjoyed it! 
No politics, no drama! It has been GREAT!
The Mr and I shared a quiet, LARGE meal of turkey, etc. We will, no doubt, be having turkey for the next month or so. Naw…he likes the stuff more than I do. Heh.
Now, back to oblivion for a few more hours, then bed! See ya tomorrow! I’m fairly sure it’s still the S.S. D.D. scenario.

MSNBC Exclusive: Fort Hood Never Happened!

It’s been weeks since eyewitnesses reported that Maj. Nidal Hasan shouted “Allahu akbar” before spraying Fort Hood with gunfire, killing 13 people.
Since then we also learned that Hasan gave a medical lecture on beheading infidels and pouring burning oil down their throats (unfortunately not covered under the Senate health care bill). Some wondered if perhaps a pattern was beginning to emerge but were promptly dismissed as racist cranks.
We also found out Hasan had business cards printed up with the jihadist abbreviation “SOA” for “Soldier of Allah.” Was that enough to conclude that the shooting was an act of terrorism — or does somebody around here need to take another cultural sensitivity class?
And we know that Hasan had contacted several jihadist Web sites and that he had been exchanging e-mails with a radical Islamic cleric in Yemen. The FBI learned that last December, but the rest of us only found out about it a week ago.
Is it still too soon to come to the conclusion that the Fort Hood shooting was an act of terrorism?

I’m no “seer” or clairvoyant, or anything like that, but, I would bet, if I were a betting man, that they are going to try to salvage this thing — somehow. They have to. The US government (now under the management of socialists) along with the office of the President (also under socialist management) plus the entire west wing of the Executive Office Building, absolutely must do something to salvage whatever they can.
The socialists in the American government today are totalitarians. They believe they, and they alone, must have total power over you. And they do not think you are very smart, at all. They think they are they brightest of the bright and they have something akin to a “Divine Right” to rule over you. That is, if they actually believed in a divinity! They call themselves “Progressives” For those of you who have not lived as long as I have, back in my youth “Progressive” was the label used to denote members of the Communist Party. I declare to you now, nothing, much, has actually changed. If you compare the actions of the members of our current government to the actions called for by the communist world’s leaders, you will quickly see that “OUR PROGRESSIVES” may still call themselves Progressives but in reality, they are communists. We have tried to be charitable here by using the less harsh term of “socialist.” Maybe we should consider just letting it all hang out and begin the use of the “C” word to describe the folks now in charge of the US Government and be done with it.

To say I was rather surprised at her choice of dress last night at the big State shindig, would be an understatement!
Rather tasteful in my humble opinion. And from the looks of it, quite expensive. 
Looking at this picture this morning was, literally, the first time I did NOT cringe in embarrassment.
How Michelle Obama dresses makes no difference to me at all. If she want to wear slip covers, that’s her business. But when she is representing the U.S.A., can we please have a little dignity?
And no, before the left goes into a wild orgasmic frenzy, I am not the height of fashion either. T-shirts and blue jeans! But then, I’m not the First “Lady”, so I don’t have to impress anyone.
