Congress No Longer Constitutional?
Obamacare is Seriously Unconstitutional
The Foundry
On October 23rd, a reporter asked Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): “Madam Speaker, where specifically does the Constitution grant Congress the authority to enact an individual health insurance mandate?” Speaker Pelosi shook her head and before moving on to another question replied: “Are you serious? Are you serious??” Pressed for a more substantive response later, Pelosi’s press spokesman admonished the reporter: “You can put this on the record. That is not a serious question. That is not a serious question.”
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) disagrees. In 1994, the CBO said of an individual mandate to buy health insurance:
A mandate requiring all individuals to purchase health insurance would be an unprecedented form of federal action. The government has never required people to buy any good or service as a condition of lawful residence in the United States. An individual mandate would have two features that, in combination, would make it unique. First, it would impose a duty on individuals as members of society. Second, it would require people to purchase a specific service that would be heavily regulated by the federal government.
Seems the FCC Doesn’t Like Opponents
I received an email this morning that actually disturbs me. After posting several notices about an upcoming ‘field meeting’, it seems that the FCC has decided they really don’t want to hear from “We, The People”.
Apparently, the FCC has gotten word of us coming. They are going to change the focus of the meeting. It will be about how to get more access to minority communities. I do not believe there will be a forum to ask questions. I wanted to let you all know, so you don’t get down there and say, “what is going on?” I just found out last night. I appreciate all you have done, to stand up for our liberties. I do believe this is not the end of the matter. We need to stay vigilant. Again, thanks for all you are doing. If you are planning to go, let me know, and I will meet you there.
Now, if they don’t really want to know, why bother spending tax payer money, going around the country, holding the meetings? It appears to me there is a major waste of time and money going on, but then, we ARE talking about the federal gubmint here, aren’t we.
I’ll be perfectly honest. If they really want to know how to get broadband internet access to minorities, it’s REAL simple. Get the hell out of the way. Allow small businesses to grow, instead of taxing them into oblivion. That way, they can provide jobs. People get jobs, they get an income. With an income, they can pay their rent, buy groceries, and then, gasp…..they can pay for their internet access! Novel concept, eh?
When it comes right down to reality, having the internet is not vital to our well being, is it. We are quite capable of surviving without it. We need food, clothing, and a roof over our heads. These things are accomplished by hard work, and the ability to pay for them.
Ann on Teddy’s Seat
Martha Coakley: Too Immoral for Teddy Kennedy’s Seat
by Ann Coulter
In Tuesday’s primary election, Massachusetts Democrats chose as their Senate nominee a woman who kept a clearly innocent man in prison in order to advance her political career.
Martha Coakley isn’t even fit for the late Teddy Kennedy’s old seat. (What is it about this particular Senate seat?)
During the daycare/child molestation hysteria of the ’80s, Gerald Amirault, his mother, Violet, and sister, Cheryl, were accused of raping children at the family’s preschool in Malden, Mass., in what came to be known as the second-most notorious witch trial in Massachusetts history.
The Party of Death is “Moral”?
Feinstein Says It’s ‘Morally Correct’ to Force Taxpayers to Fund Abortion
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D.-Calif.) told CNSNews.com that using tax dollars from pro-life Americans to pay for insurance plans that cover abortion is morally correct.
Quick! Someone take this…..person….a dictionary!
moral - 1 a : of or relating to principles of right and wrong in behavior : ethical b : expressing or teaching a conception of right behavior c : conforming to a standard of right behavior d : sanctioned by or operative on one’s conscience or ethical judgment e : capable of right and wrong action 2 : probable though not proved : virtual 3 : perceptual or psychological rather than tangible or practical in nature or effect — mor·al·ly \-?-l?\ adverb
A few synonyms for her perusal: ethical, virtuous, righteous, noble.
Oh, wait a minute. She’s a Democrat. Ethical isn’t really in her vocabulary, is it. Hmmm… Virtuous? Well, perhaps she thinks slaughtering innocent babies is virtuous? Righteous? Self-righteous maybe, but righteous? I don’t think so. And noble doesn’t even come into the scenario.
You can read the whole thing here, and listen to the audio, if you have the stomach. Anger is overcoming at the moment.
Some People Disgust Me More Than Others
I don’t often do a complete copy and past of someone who leans pretty left, but this is one time that it must be done. I couldn’t have said it any better!
What Happens When You Drop Your Animal Off in the Country
By Betsy Phillips (aka Aunt B)
There’s a story this morning in the Tennessean about the problems of animal cruelty in our state. And that reminded me: I want to say something to you people who drive a little way out of town to drop your pets off when you can’t or don’t want to care for them anymore.
I don’t know what you imagine becomes of your pets. Maybe you think they make their way into the wild, living some idyllic life. Maybe you can just put them out of your mind because you have put them out of your sight. I don’t know.
But here’s what happens to them. They die.
Almost all of them. They live a very short time out here and then they die excruciating deaths.
Bury it! In An Unmarked Grave! NOW!
A Desperate December Deal
The Foundry
If you are one of the few Americans who still subscribes, your morning newspaper probably has a headline like this: Democrats Reach Deal on Health Plan. Don’t believe it. Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is still light years away from producing the 60 votes necessary to pass Obamacare out of the Senate. And the few details that have leaked out about this new “broad agreement” only reveal just how desperate Reid is to get any bill on to President Obama’s desk by the New Year.
Of course, there is no good policy reason why the Senate should be rushing the reorganization of one-sixth of our nation’s economy through their chamber. As leftist columnist E.J. Dionne has frankly admitted, the December deadline is a purely political invention, created for the sole purpose of enabling President Barack Obama to point to at least one accomplishment during his State of the Union speech in January. Details of the agreement have not been made public, and Senate Democrats are refusing to make them public until they hear back from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). But judging from what little has been selectively leaked to the public, this idea deserves to die:
“Non-religious” CHRISTmas?
I’m sure most folks have heard the uproar about the Obama’s not wanting to put up the Nativity in the East Room of the White House.
President Obama and the First Family were planning a “non-religious Christmas,” according to Social Secretary Desiree Rogers. Ms. Rogers reportedly told a gathering of former social secretaries that the Obamas did not intend on putting the Nativity scene on display – a longtime East Room tradition.
I guess he showed his true colors on this one, didn’t he. Gee, I wonder which world leaders was he bowing to this time? I seriously doubt it was the Pope. But, after some serious consideration, and more than just a bit of outrage, it seems the ol’ poser in chief, and clan, have relented.
From the ‘First Lady’s” (?) office:
“It has been a part of White House Christmas decorations in the past, it is on display in the East Room for all to enjoy and it will continue to be a part of White House Christmas decorations moving forward.”
How nice of them to include the REASON for this Season!
Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, accused the president of trying to “neuter” Christmas.
“Unlike almost all Americans—including atheists—the Obamas do not give their children Christmas gifts. We know this because Barack bragged about this last year to People magazine. So it should come as no big surprise that he and his wife would like to neuter Christmas in the White House. That’s their natural step—to ban the public display of Christian symbols. Have any doubts? Last April, Georgetown University was ordered to put a drape over the name of Jesus as a condition of the president speaking there.
Well, that’s what liberals do! They fight hard to remove any reference and symbols to our JUDEO/CHRISTIAN history. Are there no Christian teachings in that church he sat in for 20 years? Did he learn nothing about REAL faith? Or was it just a “church” filled with hatred of all things of honor and tradition? Sermons filled with bitterness and racism? He has professed to be a Christian. I’ve seen no indication of this whatsoever.
I honestly don’t care if the Obama’s give presents to their kids or not. That’s their choice. Kids these days seem to expect their parents to go into hock just to GIVE them every little thing their heart desires, which, to me, has totally destroyed the real meaning of the “season of giving”.
At this time of the year, I EXPECT our so called POTUS to display the symbols of our religious foundations, which, by the way, do NOT include a star and crescent!
I’ve no doubt if we had a Jewish president, there would have been no problem with continuing the traditions, long held, by previous administrations, so why wouldn’t a Muslim one? Just sayin’.
Oh, and to my Jewish friends, an early……

Perhaps they got tired of a few postings about their non-action? I’ll be real curious to see if they change it again. If they do……
UPDATE:
FCC Field Hearing on Digital Inclusion
Dec 14, 2009
7:00 PM ET (6:00 PM CT)
National Civil Rights Museum, Rose Room
450 Mulberry Street
Memphis, TN 38103
As stated previously, there is suppose to be a ‘field meeting‘ with the FCC and this broadband business. It’s now 8 Dec, and still no time and place for the meeting. I know of several people who would very much like to attend this shindig, but would need some advance notice as to make arrangements. Not everyone lives in Memphis, or all that close to Memphis, for that matter.

Git’cher Barf Bag Ready!
I’ve avoided reading this nonsense as long as possible, but it keeps popping up all over the place. So, for those others who are gluttons for punishment, here it is….The Boracle….at his finest!
One thin September soon
A floating continent disappears
In midnight sun
Vapors rise as
Fever settles on an acid sea
Neptune’s bones dissolve
Snow glides from the mountain
Ice fathers floods for a season
A hard rain comes quickly
Then dirt is parched
Kindling is placed in the forest
For the lightning’s celebration
Unknown creatures
Take their leave, unmourned
Horsemen ready their stirrups
Passion seeks heroes and friends
The bell of the city
On the hill is rung
The shepherd cries
The hour of choosing has arrived
Here are your tools
Holy crap! I wrote better poetry than that when I was 12 years old!
Your Tax Dollars Hard At Work
Columbus schools tapped stimulus for room rentals
Columbus City Schools have more than 120 buildings designed for teaching.
But in a three-day effort to teach its teachers, the district is renting banquet halls, high-end hotels and conference centers — using almost $145,000 in federal grant dollars.
Teach teachers what? Didn’t they spend a few years in school to learn to teach their subject of choice?
The district will pay up to $8,000 to rent Villa Milano, a marble-clad banquet hall with enough “classic elegance” that “you will think you have been transported to a romantic Italian Villa,” according to the hall’s Web site.
Other sites include: the Hyatt Regency ($23,000); the Greater Columbus Convention Center and the Hyatt on Capitol Square ($25,000 each); the Quest Business and Conference Center at Polaris ($17,000); and the Aladdin Temple near Easton ($12,500).
The district will pay the speakers more than $1.4 million in federal stimulus money, part of $64.2 million that Columbus schools have been awarded from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
One company, the International Center for Leadership in Education, will receive $468,258.
Sheridan WorldWise, a company run by former Columbus school board President Dave Dobos, will collect $84,500 to give several presentations. He will talk about the college-admissions process and the SAT and ACT exams, while other WorldWise-affiliated speakers will talk on other subjects.
These people have never heard of renting chairs to put in rooms where the desks may be too small? There are no Holiday Inns in Columbus? Days Inn? (emphasis mine)
Norris said the federal government encourages districts to use Title I money for professional development to improve student achievement and school-leader effectiveness.
You mean they are using hard earned tax dollars to indoctrinate the indoctrinators?
Schools will shut down as all district educators attend the workshops, the first one this Wednesday. The other two will take place in February and May.
Ever wonder why there are so many kids running around during weekdays in recent years? Well, this is why! Teachers can’t be bothered to go in on a Saturday. If this stuff was so important, then they could take a Saturday out of their lives to attend these things.
The district received 245 proposals from those interested in leading training sessions, with 33 individuals or organizations winning work. The speakers were selected by the district’s various curriculum departments, Norris said. Asked whether the newly renovated South or East high schools — with auditoriums, cafeterias, gymnasiums capable of seating hundreds, with scores of adjacent classrooms — couldn’t have substituted for the Hyatt and the like, Superintendent Gene Harris said no.
Well, of course not! Why use all that money to buy supplies for the students, like say, maybe….TEXT BOOKS? Aren’t there under privileged students who need simple basics, like a backpack filled with essentials for school?
A proposal for the district to convert an aging building at the Fort Hayes campus into a 2,500-seat theater might help reduce the need to rent outside space in the future, Harris said. The hall would be used for student theatrical productions and staff meetings. The school board voted 6-1 to table the theater proposal last week.
Of course it was. Ya know why? Cuz it makes too much bloomin’ sense!
William Bainbridge, chief executive officer of SchoolMatch, a Dayton-based educational-research firm, agreed with Harris that because of the layout, acoustics and lighting in some schools, they might not be best place to hold a conference.
“I don’t know that they need the Hyatt,” he added.
Gee, y’think!?!?

It is BLACKMAIL!
Obama’s “Gang of 39” has gone Too Far!
Obama Regime “Blackmails” Congress
by J. D. Longstreet
Remember a few weeks ago, I wrote of Obama’s Chicago style politics? Well, then you were not blind-sided by the EPA’s move to declare their regulation of so-called greenhouse gases.
When you peel away the BS spewed by the EPA you will clearly see the ploy being used by the Obama Regime to say to the Congress, either YOU pass the Cap and Trade bill, or MY EPA will pass regulations that will regulate practically every aspect of American life from the home, to factory, to the office, to the church, to the automobile, — you name it — and the Obama Regime will be riding herd over every living American exhaling CO-2 today!
I have to ask – do YOU STILL THINK YOU LIVE IN A REPRESENTATIVE REPUBLIC? Because — if you do, you are living in a dream, a dream that is, as of this hour, turning into a nightmare!
Prayers Needed!
TFMo posted this at Christmas Ghost this morning:
I just got a mail from our dearest Christmas Ghost. Her middle son was in a car accident. His skull and chest were crushed and he’s in a coma. They’re trying to stabilize him enough for surgery to reduce the swelling around his brain. The prognosis is not good. Please, give a prayer for this young man, and for his family.
CG is a frequent commenter here on the site, and you might have read some of her snarky comments. She’s been a loyal visitor, and has become quite a good ‘blog friend’. I want her, and her family, to know, that I will be, on bended knee, praying for the Lord’s Grace for her precious child. I ask you to join me.
Christmas Cookie Rules
1. If you eat a Christmas cookie fresh out of the oven, it has no calories because everyone knows that the first cookie is the test and thus calorie free.
2. If you drink a diet soda after eating your second cookie, it also has no calories because the diet soda cancels out the cookie calories.
3. If a friend comes over while you’re making your Christmas cookies and needs to sample, you must sample with your friend. Because your friend’s first cookie is calories free, (rule #1) yours is also. It would be rude to let your friend sample alone and, being the friend that you are, that makes your cookie calorie free.
4. Any cookie calories consumed while walking around will fall to your feet and eventually fall off as you move. This is due to gravity and the density of the caloric mass.
5. Any calories consumed during the frosting of the Christmas cookies will be used up because it takes many calories to lick excess frosting from a knife without cutting your tongue.
6. Cookies colored red or green have very few calories. Red ones have three and green ones have five – one calorie for each letter. Make more red ones!
7. Cookies eaten while watching “Miracle on 34th Street” have no calories because they are part of the entertainment package and not part of one’s personal fuel.
8. As always, cookie pieces contain no calories because the process of breaking causes calorie leakage.
9. Any cookies consumed from someone else’s plate have no calories since the calories rightfully belong to the other person and will cling to their plate. We all know how calories like to CLING!
10. Any cookies consumed while feeling stressed have no calories because cookies used for medicinal purposes NEVER have calories. It’s a rule!
So, go out and enjoy those Christmas Cookies – we only get them this time of year!

Harry Reid – Clueless
Let’s take a look see at just how accurate Runnin’ Reid’s statement actually is, shall we? History is a funny thing, don’cha know.
Soon after the war ended, it was a Republican-controlled Congress that rammed through the 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution that, among other things, abolished slavery, guaranteed equal protection and due process and addressed blacks’ right to vote.
In the late 19th century, Democrat governors and Democrat-controlled state legislatures in the South couldn’t pass Jim Crow laws fast enough. Those Democrats created a nearly century-long, legal racial caste system that relegated blacks to the lowest educational, political, economic and social strata. I have family members who grew up under Jim Crow. To hear them tell it, it weren’t no joke. (source)
How about that Civil Rights Act of 1964?
The bill came before the full Senate for debate on March 30, 1964 and the “Southern Bloc” of southern Senators led by Richard Russell (D-GA) launched a filibuster to prevent its passage. Said Russell: “We will resist to the bitter end any measure or any movement which would have a tendency to bring about social equality and intermingling and amalgamation of the races in our (Southern) states.” (source)
At one time there was such a thing as “Southern Democrats”:
Southern Democrats are members of the U.S. Democratic Party who reside in the American South. In the early 1800s, they were the definitive pro-slavery wing of the party, opposed to both the anti-slavery Republicans (GOP) and the more liberal Northern Democrats. After losing control of their party and territory in the American Civil War, and during the Republican-led Reconstruction that followed, Southern Democrats regrouped into various vigilante organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan and the White League. (source)
So, you see Mr Reid, it would be much wiser for you to check your history before you open your mouth, and project your own prejudices on others!
