Nashville nonprofit that helps feed needy kids is accused of theft

Two managers of a Nashville nonprofit have been accused of stealing $25,000 from a federal program that provides food to poor children in child-care programs.

Eddy Jobe Sr. and Patricia Leggs operate Little Stars Feeding Program, which works as a go-between for the government and child-care providers that take part in the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program.

They are accused of setting up fake day cares and falsifying child-care rosters to defraud the government of money intended to help feed needy children.

Jobe, 64, president of Little Stars Feeding Program, and Leggs, 54, the agency’s office manager, are scheduled to make their initial court appearances next week.

A couple of real class acts, aren’t they! But then, what would you expect from the gimme mindset of today?  I have to ask….what type of person steals from children?  Oh yeah, the same kind of person who would steal pennies of a dead man’s eyes.

Yes, I know…..”innocent until proven guilty” and all that, but sometimes, it’s really hard to understand how such a sum can disappear without someone taking it, right?
