I have a blog bud who is a BIG Colts fan. Well, she’s evidently had enough razzing this evening. So, I’m not gonna make her anymore miserable. I’ll just put up this little picture, and leave it at that.

This game went almost exactly as I predicted. Once my boys shook off the “super bowl jitters”, it was on like Donkey Kong. Everyone who talked crap about the Colts dominating, can kiss my fleur de lis!
The Colts out-gained the Saints by 100 yards. They out-rushed them 99 yards to 51; 5.2 a carry to 2.8.

As much as I hated hearing this from people when that happened to us during the season the numbers don’t lie. Good game you guys deserved it.

Jesse; take away the running game (The Saints collapsed there defensively) and the Saints way outplayed the Colts.
Stats dont make games, anyway. Remember the Vikes also “outplayed” the Saints, and they got to sit at home and watch the Superbowl on TV like everyone else.
Defense wins championships, and defense doesnt rack up stats that anyone looks at.
The 2 stats that made the game:
Drew Brees 32/39 288 yds. 2 td – they didnt stop Brees. He whooped em.
Turnovers: Saints / 2 Colts / 0 The onside kick bounced off of a Colts player and was recovered by the Saints, so I count it as a turnover.
The Colts did scare me tho, especially in the 1st quarter, I was thinking “this is gonna be a long game.”

If Brees had lost and done that to Manning wed never hear the end of it. But Brees wouldnt have done that, because hes not a cry baby who had to run and change his diaper, and hes a class act.
One thing you ALWAYS see players and coaches do after a big game is congratulate the winning team, shake hands and all that. It doesnt have anything to do with being in little league. Its has everything to do with being a mature adult who is respectful of his peers, treating others the way you want to be treated. Manning just got on the asshat list.
In his lifetime, hes 9-9 in big championship type games. Hes NOT the second coming of Montana.

Sorry to fact check you Shadow…Manning is 9-9 in the post season…1-1 in the Superbowl. Not 9-9 in Championship games. Not shaking hands is a bush league move. Although he is still my favorite player in the league, and the leagues best player IMO, but last night Brees was the better QB.
Stats are for people who are really, really bored. Stats don’t get out on the field and play the game. The Vikings doubled the Saints in every stat in the NFC Championship game and still lost. The Saints played to WIN the game, while the Colts played not to lose the game when they jumped out to a 10 point lead. Sean Peyton has balls made of titanium and his team followed his lead.
The Saints took in all the media hype about how they couldn’t stop the mighty Peyton Manning, and how they had ZERO chance to win this game and used it as fuel to shock the world. *Well everyone except the WHO DAT nation*
Manning not shaking hands with Brees after the game was truly classless. Manning had nothing but nice things to say about the Saints and Brees after the game, but couldn’t even shake the mans hand after the game? The three things I got tired of hearing about in the weeks leading up to the Superbowl were Katrina, Dwight Freeney’s ankle and Manning being the greatest of all time. To even be having that discussion while Manning is still an active player is a JOKE! 9-9 in the Playoffs with 1 Superbowl ring speaks volumes when making a case why he ISNT the greatest of all time.
In a day where the fans determine a players worth in Championships, Manning falls short. Montana (4) Bradshaw (4) Brady (3) Elway (2) Rothlesburger (2). While Manning is a Hall Of Fame quarterback, he is keeping company with the likes of Trent Dilfer (1) Brad Johnson (1) and Eli Manning (1) just to name a few of the QB’s with 1 Championship. Let Manning finish his career, and then evaluate if he is the greatest of all time. With the game constantly changing it is really hard to determine for a fact who is the greatest of all time. Especially with the sissy rules in place now to protect Qb’s. Not to mention the sissy rules that are in place for the WR’s.
No I said Manning is 9-9 in CHAMPIONSHIP TYPE GAMES, I didnt say the Superbowl or playoffs Specifically. I meant high school, college and pro. Thats the number I heard, so if its wrong, dont blame me.
Hes lost lots of big games all through his career.
Hes a good quarterback, sometimes damn good.
But FAR from the greatest.
Hell Id say even Jim Kelly right now has more bragging rights… He may not have won any superbowls, but he WENT to 4 of them. Had Payton played his first against the 90’s Cowboys, he wouldnt have any wins either
If you want to look at stats, Brees kicked Paytons ass in the regular season as well. He beat him in td / int ratio, precentage, overall rating, avg, avg yards per game. Payton only got the mvp b/c people are sucking up to him for some unknown reason, hopefully that will change now that he lost. Being “charismatic” doesnt make you the best.
BREES should have been mvp.
